Position the new left grip (4) so the larger flange (5) is at the bottom. Push the grip fully onto the handlebar. 5. Fit the grooves (2) on the outboard side of the upper and lower switch housing over the flanges on the end of the grip, then loosely fasten the two screws. 6. Position the clutch hand lever assembly inboard of the switch housing assembly, engaging the tab on the lower switch housing in the groove at the bottom of the clutch lever bracket. 7. Align the holes in the handlebar clamp with those in the clutch lever bracket, and loosely fasten the two screws with flat washers. Adjust the switch housing and clutch hand control position for rider comfort. 8. Using a T27 TORX® drive head, tighten first the upper, then the lower handlebar clamp screws to 60-80 in-lbs (6.8-9 Nm) . 9. INSTALLATION Improperly aligned handlebars can contact the fuel tank when turned to the left or right. Contact with the fuel tank can cause cosmetic damage. (00372a) NOTES Check that the handlebar is centered on the risers. To make sure that the handlebar is centered, verify that the knurled areas on the outboard side of each riser are equal. Slowly turn the front wheel to the full right fork stop and then the full left fork stop to be sure the handlebar does not contact the fuel tank. If contact with the fuel tank occurs or the handlebars are not properly centered, see Figure 1. Slightly loosen the four upper clamp screws, and center the handlebar or raise the handlebar angle as necessary until proper clearance is obtained, then temporarily snug the screws, but do not fully tighten. 4 1 2 3 4 is00868 1. 1. Place a blanket folded several times over the fuel tank to help prevent any damage during the installation of the risers. Loosen the two 14mm riser mounting nuts located on the bottom side of the upper steering head. Loosen the four handlebar top clamp 6mm socket head screws. 2. It will help having a second person to hold the handlebars while you change the risers. Remove the four screws from the clamps and then remove the clamps. Pull the handlebars up off the risers, pull them back and rest them on top of the blanket. 3. Remove the nuts from the bottom of the risers and remove the risers carefully without allowing the risers to rotate, as this will scratch the clear coating on the upper steering head. Using the bolts, lock washers and washers supplied install the new risers making the bolts finger tight only. (NOTE; again, take care not to allow the risers to rotate as this will scratch the clear coating on the upper steering head). 4. Place the handlebars back up onto the new risers. Install the new top clamps supplied using the four M8 X 30mm socket head screws supplied. Set the height of the handlebars to the desired position, tighten the front bolts first and then the rear securely. (15-18 ft. lbs.) (There should be no gap between the riser and clamp at the front side) Tighten the two riser mounting bolts securely. (20-25 ft. lbs.). 5. Turn the handlebars all the way to the left and then right checking for any pulling or binding of the wires, hoses or cables. YOU MUST! Check to see that the throttle returns freely on its own when the handlebars are at full left and full right turn THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR OBVIOUS SAFETY REASONS! If you have a windshield installed it may be necessary to reroute the throttle cables, wires or hoses around the other side of the windshields mounting hardware to obtain adequate free play and free throttle return. You may also wish to remove the plastic clips or cable tie which secure the wiring to the handlebars and secure them to the brake hose and clutch cable (not the throttle cables) for a cleaner appearance

1. Remove the Right Handlebar Control, upper and lower switch housing screws, and Right Grip from the Handlebar according to the service-manual instructions and set aside or leave hanging. Remember to insert a spacer between the rear brake light switch and the lever to keep the switch from being broken. 2. Remove the Left Hand switch housing from the handlebar according to the service-manual instructions. 3. Using a T27 TORX drive head remove the half of the clamp that secures the clutch hand lever to the handlebar and discard. The Heat Demon controller will replace this clamp when finishing the installation. Separate the clutch hand lever assembly from the handlebar and move away from the bar. 4. Mark the location of the Left Grip and remove it by twisting, heating or with air pressure. Almost all grips can be removed without damage. If this does not work it may be necessary to cut the grip for removal. 5. A hole needs to be drilled in the bottom of the handlebar to route the power wires and wires from the Controller. The location of the hole should be in the groove or recess on the bottom of the handlebar under the Left Switch Housing at the end of the groove toward the grip. Start by punching a hole location with a center punch to pierce the chrome. Use safety glasses that completely cover the eyes to protect from steel chips while drilling! Start with a small drill like a 3/32″ size to make the initial hole. Then use progressively larger drills or a step drill to increase the hole size to 5/16″. After the hole is drilled use a round file or deburring tool to remove the sharp edges. 6. Uncoil the plastic snake from the kit and run it from the right end of the handlebar out the left end. Twisting the snake or inserting it vertically versus flat can help to push around the corners. 7. Attach the white and yellow wires from the Right Grip Heater (Item 3) to the hole in the plastic snake and pull them through the bar so they exit the left end. (See drawing below) 8. Push the right heater into the handlebar by squeezing it together and sliding it fully inside of the bar. The end of the heater with the orange cap should be pushed in first. Cut the white and yellow wire to extend 4 inches beyond the left end of handlebar. 9. Install the Right Throttle Control and Grip according to the service manua

Mounting of the Handlebar Top Clamp • Mount the motoscope mini to the handlebar top clamp by using the enclosed metric countersunk screws (M3). Do not exceed the maximum tightening torque which is 4 Nm. • Laying both cables of the motoscope mini and indicator lights through the clamp inner groove in rear direction (to the driver). • Mark the position of the handlebar to the lower handlebar retainer with a marker pen. Undo the 4 clamping bolts and remove the original top clamp. • Put the motogadget handle bar clamp onto the handle bar and align the handle bar according the pen marking. Make sure both cables are still located in the groove; otherwise the cable will be damaged. • Then put the enclosed inch screws into the 4 drillings and tighten them crosswise and evenly. Take care that the gap between the upper and lower handlebar clamp remains the same at each point. A maximum torque for the inch screws of 20 Nm must not be exceeded. Connection and cable colours Before starting the electrical connection remove the vehicle battery or interrupt its connection to the onboard power supply. Use the original vehicle wiring diagram. Then connect the warning lights as described in the table below. If you have two indicator control lights see the wiring diagram below for joining them to one control light. Make sure all connections are fused. If you don’t fuse it properly, a damage of the connection cable can cause a cable fire. Make sure you are capable to connect the instrument properly. If you are not sure, let the professional shop do the job
