Put transmission in ‘Neutral’. 2. Loosen rear axle nut. Loosen rear axle adjuster nut on each side of motorcycle, and move rear wheel to full forward position. 3. Remove the damaged/broken belt. 4. Inspect sprockets and belt guard for damage and/or debris. Remove any debris. If sprockets and belt guard are not damaged, proceed with the installation. 5. See Figure 1. Remove belt guard. 6. See Figure 2. Install feeder strip on emergency belt. Feed strip around transmission sprocket in a counterclockwise direction over frame cross support.

Example: Front wheel SYMBOL Listed in the table below are the symbols indicating instructions and other information necessary for servicing. ENGINE OIL SUZUKIrecommends the use of SUZUKI PERFORMANCE 4 MOTOR OIL or an oil which is rated SF or SG under the API (American Petroleum Institute) service classification. The recommended viscosity is SAE 1 OW-40 . If an SAE 1 OW-40 oil is not available, select an altematice according to the right chart . BRAKE FLUID Specification and classification: DOT 4 A WARNING Since the brake system of this motorcycle is filled with a glycol-based brake fluid by the manufacturer, do not use or mix different types of fluid such as silicone-based and petroleum-based fluid for refilling the system, otherwise serious damage will result . Do not use any brake fluid taken from old or used or unsealed containers . Never re-use brake fluid left over from a previous servicing, which has been stored for a long period. FRONT FORK OIL Use fork oil L01 or an equivalent fork oil . GENERAL INFORMATION 1-5 ENGINE COOLANT Use an anti-freeze/engine coolant compatible with an aluminum radiator, mixed with distilled water only . WATER FOR MIXING Use distilled water only . Water other than distilled water can corrode and clog the aluminum radiator . ANTI-FREEZE/ENGINE COOLANT The engine coolant perform as a corrosion and rust inhibitor as well as anti-freeze . Therefore, the engine coolant should be used at all times even though the atmospheric temperature in your area does not go down to freezing point. Suzuki recommends the use of SUZUKI COOLANT anti-freeze/engine coolant. If this is not available, use an equivalent which is compatible with an aluminum radiator . LIQUID AMOUNT OF WATER/ENGINE COOLANT

A. BEFORE INSTALLATION OF YOUR NEW ZENITH CARBURETOR, NSPECT THE RUBBER MANIFOLD SEAL FOR NICKS,CRACKS, OR DEBRIS. APPLYING A LIGHT FILM OF PETROLEUM BASED LUBRICANT AROUND THE INSIDE LIP OF THE RUBBER SEAL WILL ALLOW THE CARBURETOR TO SLIP INTO PLACE EASIER. B. BEFORE ACTUAL INSTALLATION OF UNIT INTO MANIFOLD, THROTTLE CABLES SHOULD BE HOOKED TO THETHROTTLEWHEEL.MAKESURETHATTHE PULL CABLE IS LOCATEDPROPERLY TO OPEN THE THROTTLE PLATE (IN SOME APPLICATIONS THROTTLE CABLE SLACK MAY NEED TO BE ADJUSTED FOR PROPER HOOKUP AND OPERATION) SEE FIG. #1 C. You will now proceed to drill the hole using a 1″ Hole saw similar to the one shown. Fig 2 As you drill the hole you will periodically check to see how deep you’ve gone, the goal is to cut as close as possible but not go all the way through. It helps to blow away the loose bits of material before you pull the saw back to check. Fig 3 You will want to carefully remove all loose bits of plastic from the cut channel. Once finished it should look like this before proceeding. Fig 4 Now insert a T handle wrench into the hole to keep the plug from falling in as shown, a screwdriver will work as well. Use a box cutter to finish the cut and pop the plug out using the T handle.
Black Rhino Performance Page 3 of 4 Fig 5 Once you have made the cut all around the plug will pop out. Now is a good time to check and make sure that you didn’t drop a bunch of cuttings in the tank. If you were careful there shouldn’t be anything in there. Fig 6 Now that that is finished it is time to install the sender. First you will want to coat both sides of the cork gasket with a petroleum resistant gasket sealant. The pattern of the holes is not symmetrical so make sure the holes on the sender line up with the gasket. Fig 7 Finish the installation by hand tightening the screws and just tight enough without forcing the gasket out from under the sender. Let the cork do its work, over tightening can cause leaks. Fig 8 When finished, it’s a good idea to silicone the contacts of the sender. This helps to prevent shorting or damaging the sender or gauge.

INSTALLATION NOTES Clean the controller mounting area and the areas where the light pods will be mounted with soap and water before beginning the installation, and allow to dry thoroughly. Remove debris, dirt and grime from the vehicle areas to be highlighted. Ambient temperature should be at least 50 °F (10 °C) for proper adhesion of the light pods and controller box to vehicle surfaces. Light pods should not be located closer than 2.5 inches (63.5 mm) from exhaust pipes or mufflers, and must have 1.5 inches (38.1 mm) clearance from engine cylinders and heads. Do not install light pods with the light source facing directly away from the vehicle. Installation should be done in a way that allows the light to be seen indirectly by reflecting from chrome or painted surfaces of the vehicle. Prepare the Motorcycle To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, disconnect battery cables (negative (-) cable first) before proceeding. (00307a) Disconnect negative (-) battery cable first. If positive (+) cable should contact ground with negative (-) cable connected, the resulting sparks can cause a battery explosion, which could result in death or serious injury. (00049a) 1. Refer to the owner’s manual and follow the instructions given to disconnect the battery cables, negative (-) cable first. NOTE For 2004 and later XL (Sportster®) models, the negative battery cable is most easily disconnected at the engine crankcase . Locate and Install the Controller NOTE Do not mount the controller box in a location where vehicle suspension travel could result in contact with the ON/OFF switch or dimmer control. Damage to the controller box will occur. 2. See Figure 2. Locate the controller box (10) on a flat surface that will allow the red (+) and black (-) leads to reach the battery terminals and the rider to access the controls (with the vehicle parked) and, if necessary, the in-line fuse holder (A). a. Test-fit the controller box to the selected surface before installation. Do not remove the adhesive backing until ready to attach the controller box. b. Clean the controller box mounting area with one of the included alcohol swabs. Allow to dry thoroughly. c. Remove the liner from the adhesive backing of the controller box. Carefully position the controller box to the surface, and press firmly into place. Hold the controller box in position with steady pressure for about one minute. Connect the Battery Cables NOTE Verify that the ignition/light key switch is in the OFF position before attaching the battery cables. 3. Verify that the ignition/key switch is turned to the OFF position. Apply a light coat of Harley-Davidson electrical contact lubricant (part number 99861-02), petroleum jelly or corrosion retardant material to the battery terminals. Connect positive (+) battery cable first. If positive (+) cable should contact ground with negative (-) cable connected, the resulting sparks can cause a battery explosion, which could result in death or serious injury. (00068a) 4. Refer to the owner’s manual and follow the instructions given to install first the vehicle’s positive (+) battery cable then the red (+) light pod controller lead ring terminal to the positive (+) battery terminal. Tighten to owner’s manual specifications. Install first the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable then the black (-) light pod controller lead ring terminal to the negative (-) battery terminal. Tighten to owner’s manual specifications. Arrange the Electra-Glo Light Pods NOTES Electra-Glo light pods (1) can be installed in a variety of locations. They are best installed on a flat surface to provide indirect lighting illuminating mechanical features, vehicle finish or for ground effects. Refer to the notes at the beginning of the Installation section. 5. Select the area or lines of the motorcycle to highlight, and suitable locations for each light pod. DO NOT permanently affix the light pods at this time. Lightly tape the pods in place temporarily until the desired visual effect is achieved Verify clearance from movement of rubber mounted engine or other moving parts, heat sources, or chafe points

External Fasteners Except Engine Head Bolts Re-torque at 500 miles (800 kilometers) and every 5,000 miles (8,000 kilometers) thereafter. 1- S&S recommends that petroleum-based oil not specifically formulated for motorcycles should be changed every 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) after the break-in period. 2- Replace more frequently if required or if engine is operated in a dusty environment.
