BRAKES This motorcycle has a hydraulic brake system of front and rear . Brakes are items of personal safety and should be properly adjusted. Remember to check periodically the brake system and these checks should be conducted by qualified Jincheng dealer. Do not use the remained brake fluid from on a unsealed container, never reuse the brake fluid remained in the last repairing, because the used brake fluid may absorb the water from the air. Use DOT 4 brake fluid from a sealed container. Do not spill out the brake fluid, when the brake fluid is glued to the paint, plastic and rubber material, a chemical reaction shall take place, causing the damage. Brake fluid must be added to the reservoir when ever the fluid level begins to reach the lower level mark(1). Fill the reservoir up to upper level mark. Kit Contents Part Number Description (Quantity) Not sold separately Chrome Inner Primary Housing 786A Sealing fastener (5) INSTALLATION NOTES Whenever the sealing fasteners are loosened or removed, they must be replaced. Always replace using Harley-Davidson® Original Equipment sealing fasteners part 786A. Do not use part 786. The primary housing included in this kit installs in the same manner as the stock inner primary housing with the following exception: Use the five sealing fasteners included with this kit. Install and tighten fasteners to the torque specified below. For 2006 Dyna model motorcycles: Remove dowel pins from the chrome inner primary housing before attempting installation. Using a pair of pliers or vice grips, remove the dowel pins by carefully twisting and pulling on the pins. Be careful not to scratch or mar the chrome or sealing surfaces of the chrome inner primary housing. Remove the chain tensioner anchor plate, bolt and screws from the stock inner primary housing after it has been removed, then install it on the chrome inner primary housing. See the appropriate Service Manual for the proper tightening procedure, and torque specifications. 1. See the Drive section of the appropriate Service Manual, and remove the stock inner primary housing. Clean the internal threads in the crankcase and transmission case where the sealing fasteners were removed using a wire brush. Install the chrome inner primary housing as indicated below. Replace the five stock sealing fasteners with the five bolts included in this kit. Put a light coat of primary oil under the head of the sealing fasteners and then tighten to 23-25 ft- lbs (31-34 Nm)

Remove the gas tank. Locate the two ignition coils. 2) Unplug the primary wires coming from the coils and disconnect the high voltage wires from the spark plugs. Remove the coil mounting bolts, and remove the coils. 3) Cut or unsolder primary wires from coils. Crimp or solder ring terminals supplied with kit to primary wires.4) Attach the primary wires to the DYNA COILS using the 10-32 x 5/16 pan head screws provided. Either wire can be mounted on either terminal of the dual output coils as they have no polarity. On the single output coils, the primary terminal opposite the side with the output tower has a + marking. Plus 12 volts from the ignition switch is applied to that terminal, and the points or ignition system output is connected to the other terminal. On a Kawasaki, make sure there is clearance between the screw head and the mounting screw spacer. Do not over- tighten screws as damage to the coil could result. 5) Using the stock hardware, mount the coils to the frame in the original location. NOTE: The DYNA COIL mounting hole spacing is designed to accommodate early model Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki motorcycles. There are a wide variety of physical sizes and mounting configurations on the late model motorcycles and it may e necessary to modify existing mounting brackets, or fabricate a bracket to adapt the DYNA COILS to your particular motorcycle

Pop off bleeder nipple cap on rear brake caliper. 2. Install one end of a length of plastic tubing over caliper bleeder valve. Place free end of the tubing in a suitable container. 3. Open the bleeder valve about 1/2-turn and pump the brake pedal to drain the brake fluid out of the rear brake system. Do not reuse brake fluid. Remove brake line components carefully. Damage to seating surfaces can cause leakage. (00320a) Remove Existing Rear Brake Line 1. See Figure 1. Disconnect wiring harness connectors from brake light switch spade terminals.

INSTALLATION NOTES The cotter pin or spring clip for the rear axle nut must be replaced during assembly and is available for purchase from a Harley-Davidson dealer. The five sprocket mounting screws must be replaced when replacing the sprocket. Remove existing sprocket according to service manual instructions. Remove all residual threadlocking agent from fastener holes using an appropriate thread chasing device and compressed air.

REMOVAL To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, disconnect negative (-) battery cable before proceeding. (00048a) 1. Disconnect negative battery cable. See BATTERY MAINTENANCE in Service Manual. 2. Remove primary cover, primary drive, and clutch. See DRIVE COMPONENTS in Service Manual. 3. Remove primary chaincase according to the instructions in the Service Manual. 4. See Figure 2. Pull off the alternator rotor (1) using two bolts inserted through the holes in the rotor face. 5. Remove the two T-27 TORX screws (2). 6. Unplug the voltage regulator and remove the stator (3). See VOLTAGE REGULATOR in Service Manual. 7. Disassemble connector [46B] (A). See DEUTSCH ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS in Service Manual. NOTE Contact cleaner, alcohol, or glass cleaner sprayed on rubber grommet (B) will provide lubrication when pulling it through crankcase hole. 8. Move grommet (3) to one side and spray contact cleaner into gap. Repeat for other side. Pull rubber grommet (B) through crankcase hole. 9. Pull wires through crankcase hole. INSTALLATION 1. Insert wires through crankcase hole. 2. See Figure 1. Push rubber grommet (B) through crankcase hole. If necessary, apply the same lubricant used during removal. 3. Insert wires into connector [46B] (A). 4. Mate connector [46]. See VOLTAGE REGULATOR in Service Manual. is03776 Figure 1. Voltage Regulator 5. See Figure 2. Install the stator (3) on the crankcase and fasten in place using new TORX screws (2). Tighten to 55-75 in-lbs (6.2-8.4 Nm). 6. Install the rotor (1) on the sprocket shaft. 7. Apply Loctite Threadlocker 262 (red) to sprocket nut threads. Tighten sprocket nut to 150-165 ft-lbs (203.4- 223.7 Nm). 8. Install primary chaincase according to the instructions in the Service Manual. 9. Install clutch, primary drive, and primary cover. See DRIVE COMPONENTS in Service Manual. 10. Connect negative battery cable. See BATTERY MAINTENANCE in Service Manual

1. Place the motorcycle on the lift. 2. Place a suitable Jack under the Frame of the Motorcycle and tie down securely. 3. Remove Drain Plug from Primary Cover Assembly and drain oil. 4. Slide Rubber Boot off of the Clutch Cable Adjuster. Loosen and back the Jam nut away from the Clutch Cable Adjuster. Move Clutch Cable Adjuster towards the Jam Nut to introduce free play in the Clutch Lever. 5. Remove the fasteners that secure the seat. Remove seat. 6. Disconnect negative Battery Terminal. 7. Remove the Saddle Bags. And their hardware. If equipped. 8. Loosen Muffler Clamp on both Mufflers and other attaching hardware. Remove and discard both Mufflers. 9. Loosen the 4 exhaust stud nuts and save. Remove and discard head pipes and exhaust gaskets. 10. Disconnect the Rear Lamp Wiring Harness. 11. Remove any fasteners from Electrical Box. 12. Remove and discard Rear Fender, Fender Support and fasteners. NOTE: 2008-Current various models. Remove ECM from Fender and save nuts. 13. Drain all Brake Fluid from the Rear Brake System. 14. Un-clamp Rear Brake Line from the frame and Rear Fork. 15. Remove and discard both Banjo Bolts and Crush Washers from the Rear Brake Caliper and the Rear Brake Master Cylinder. 16. Remove Brake Light Switch from the Brake line, Save for reassembly. 17. Remove the Torx screw from the Brake Line bracket, Save the Torx screw for reassembly. 18. Remove and Discard Brake Line. 19. If Lower Controls option. Remove and Discard right and left floorboards/foot pegs, brake pedal, shifter, and shift linkage. Remove and Discard Passenger Foot pegs or Floorboards and their mounts. Then skip to step 24. 20. If Lower Controls Not purchased. Continue. 21. Remove acorn nut from Shift Linkage. 22. Remove 3 fasteners from Drivers Floorboard and remove. 23. Remove and discard Jiffy Stand. 24. Remove the Primary Cover by first removing the top and rear inspection cover screws. 25. Continue by removing remaining fasteners. 14 total. 26. Remove and discard Primary Cover Gasket. 27. Clean residual gasket material from both surfaces. 28. Loosen the Top Center Nut on the Primary Chain Adjuster. Lower the Primary Chain Adjuster until it rests flat on the Inner Primary Cover. 29. Remove the Clutch Lifter Retaining Ring from the Clutch Basket. Remove Clutch Lifter Assembly. 30. Using the Primary Drive Locking Tool. Loosen the Compensating Sprocket Nut. 31. Using the Primary Drive Locking Tool. Loosen the Clutch Hub Main shaft Nut. WARNING: This nut is LEFT HAND threaded. 32. Remove the Primary Drive Locking Tool, Compensating Sprocket Nut, and Clutch Hub Main shaft Nut. 33. Remove the Sprocket cover and Sliding Cam from the Crank Shaft Extension. 34. Remove the Clutch Assembly, Primary Chain, Compensating Sprocket, and Crank Shaft Extension in one assembly.

(00307a) Disconnect negative (-) battery cable first. If positive (+) cable should contact ground with negative (-) cable connected, the resulting sparks can cause a battery explosion, which could result in death or serious injury. (00049a) 1. See the service manual and remove the seat and disconnect battery cables or remove the main fuse. Save the seat hardware for installation. -J04406 When servicing the fuel system, do not smoke or allo w open flame or sparks in the vicinity. Handlebar Removal – Dyna and Softail NOTE Cover the front fender and the fuel tank with clean shop towels to prevent scratching. Damage to the finish could result. 1. Note the front brake line routing and the orientation of the banjo fittings. See the service manual and disconnect and remove the brake line. Save the banjo bolts, but discard the brake line gaskets. 2. Remove the plastic wiring retainer clips that secure the turn signal harnesses to the handlebar, if equipped. 3. Remove the front brake master cylinder and clutch lever assemblies from the handlebar.

High-pressure fluid flow The engine rotates the pump swash plate, which has a gear mechanism. The rotating swash plate pushes the pump pistons to increase the pressure on the hydraulic fluid and feed it to the high-pressure annular chamber. The high- pressure fluid is then fed to the oil motor piston chamber where it pushes the pistons forward, which then push the motor swash plate. Power Fluid flow from pump to motor Fluid flow from motor to pump Low-pressure fluid flow The lower-pressure hydraulic fluid returns to the pump through the low-pressure annular chamber. In this way, the fluid circulates between the pump and the motor. Movement of distributor valves and pistons The distributor valves play an important role in fluid circulation. The valves are placed both in the oil pump and motor. When the pump pistons move to the compression side, the valves connect the piston chamber and the high- pressure chamber. When the pump pistons move to the expansion side, the valves allow a connection between the piston chamber and the low-pressure chamber. The valve in the oil motor moves opposite to its counterpart in the pump, ensuring the circulation of fluid within the system
