The shock has an adjustable rebound and standard Hi/low compression. The optional independent hi/ low compression adjuster has a low speed brass screw and a seperate blue high speed hex. The rebound adjuster is at the bottom of the shock. The standard setting is 8 clicks out (counter clockwise) from full hard. To increase rebound damping turn the adjuster in (clockwise), this will slow the extension of the shock. To decrease rebound damping turn the adjuster out (counter clockwise) this will quicken the extension of the shock. The standard compression adjuster has a the slotted brass screw on the reservoir. The standard setting is 12 clicks out low/hi speed brass screw(counter clockwise) and 1.75 turns out on the blue hex high speed adjuster from full hard. To increase compression damping turn the adjuster in (clockwise) – this will stiffen the compression of the shock. The low speed compression adjuster will soften small bumps and improve traction. The optional high speed adjuster will firm up the damping for big hits with no loss in small bump compliance, firmer settings will improve pedaling as well, lighter settings will smooth out square edge hits. Spring preload can also be changed to tune the shock to the weight of the rider. The shock spring preload can be varied by tightening or loosening the preload collars. The standard preload is 1.5 turns, (min 1 turn / max 3 turns). The rider sag must be adjusted to 1/3 of the total stroke with the rider sitting on the bike. This is the difference from fully extended position to the rider sitting. The ride height can be raised or lowered ± 5 mm to quicken or slow steering within the range of preload settings

1. Remove the 2 Flanged Bolts securing the Tensioner Assembly. 2. Remove Tensioner Assembly from the engine block. 3. Unscrew and remove Lock Bolt. 4. Remove Pushrod, Ball & Retainer, Spring and “O” ring. Clean parts thoroughly and apply grease to the Balls & Retainer. Re-assembly procedure : 1. Place Spring on Pushrod and compress the spring beyond the hole in the Pushrod. 2. Insert a pin or wire into the hole in the Pushrod to hold the Spring in its’ compressed position. 3. Place Balls & Retainer onto Pushrod. 4. Insert Pushrod into the Tensioner body with the small flat on the Pushrod facing, and aligned with, the Locking Bolt hole. 5. Insert the Locking Bolt and tighten it against the small flat on the Pushrod to lock the Pushrod in the compressed position. Remove the pin that’s holding the Spring compressed. 6. Install the Tensioner assembly onto the cylinder block and install and tighten both Flanged Bolts. Be sure that the “O” ring has been installed at the base of the flange. 7.Looosen the Lock Bolt to release the Pushrod, then re-tighten the lock bolt

Carburetor adjustment Basic information about the original carburetor setting The original carburetor setting was adapted for an altitude of approx. 500 meters (1600 ft.) above sea level, and the ambient temperature of approx. 20°C (68°F), mainly for off-road use and central European premium-grade fuel (ROZ 95). Mixing ratio 2-stroke motor oil : super fuel 1:40 . Basic information of changing the carburetor setting Always start out from the original carburetor setting. Essential requirements are a clean air filter system, air-tight exhaust system and an intact carburetor. Experience has shown that adjusting the main jet, the idling jet and the jet needle is sufficient and that changes of other parts of the carburetor will not greatly affect engine performance. RULE OF THUMB: high altitude or high temperatures  choose leaner carburetor adjustment low altitude or low temperatures  choose richer carburetor adjustment * WARNING * -ONLYUSE PREMIUM – GRADE GASOLINE ROZ 95 MIXED WITH HIGH – GRADE TWO – STROKE ENGINE OIL . OTHER TYPES OF GASOLINE CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE , AND USE OF SAME WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY . -ONLYUSE HIGH – GRADE 2- STROKE ENGINE OIL OF KNOWN BRANDS ( I . E .SHELL ADVANCE RACING X). -NOTENOUGH OIL OR LOW – GRADE OILCAN CAUSE EROSION OF THE PISTON . USING TOO MUCH OIL , THE ENGINE CAN START SMOKING AND FOUL THE SPARKPLUG . -INTHE CASE OFA LEANER ADJUSTMENT OF THE CARBURETOR PROCEED CAUTIOUSLY . ALWAYSREDUCETHEJETSIZEINSTEPSOFONENUMBERTOAVOID OVERHEATING AND PISTON SEIZURE . NOTE: If despite a changed adjustment the engine does not run properly, look for mechanical faults and check the ignition system. Basic information on carburetor wear As a result of engine vibrations, throttle valve, jet needle, and needle jet are subjected to increased wear. This wear may cause carburetor malfunction (e.g., overly rich mixture). Therefore, these parts should be replaced after 1000 hours of using. Idling range – A Operation with closed throttle valve. This range is influenced by the idle adjusting screw 1 . Only make adjustments when the engine is hot. The idling speed can be changed by turning the idle adjusting screw. Turning it clockwise produces a higher idling speed and turning the screw counterclockwise produces a lower idling speed. Opening up – B Engine behavior when the throttle opens. The idle jet and the shape of the throttle valve influences this range. If, despite good idling-speed and part-throttle setting, the engine sputters and smokes when the throttle is fully opened and develops its full power not smoothly but suddenly at high engine speeds, the mixture to the carburetor will be too rich, the fuel level too high or the float needle is leaking. Part-throttle range – C Operation with partly open throttle valve. This range is only influenced by the jet needle (shape and position). The optimum part-throttle setting is controlled by the idling setting in the lower range and by the main jet in the upper range. If the engine runs on a four-stroke cycle or with reduced power when it is accelerated with the throttle partly open, the jet needle must be lowered by one notch. If then the engine pings, especially when accelerating under full power at maximum engine revs, the jet needle should be raised. If these faults should occur at the lower end of the part throttle range at a four-stroke running, make the idling range leaner; if the engine pings, adjust the idling range richer

However, the following internal parts of the fork can be modified: Shims, hydraulic piston, oil passages, springs and spacers. 2.6.18 Attachment of stabilizer to strengthen or reinforcing rear swing arm is allowed. 2.6.19 Removal of dust seals. 2.6.20 Rear suspension unit must remain as originally produced by the manufacturer. However rear suspension unit is free. The rear linkage must remain as originally produced by the manufacturer. 2.6.21 Handle bars, clutch and front brake lever may be changed by an after market copy. Clutch springs may be changed. 2.6.22 Steering dampers may be fitted. They must not act in any way as a steering lock limiting device. 2.6.23 Materials of streamlining and material of seat cowling. (However, expensive materials such as carbon fibre and kevlar are not allowed). 2.6.24 Removal of rear mudguard and side cover. Front mudguard may be cut but not less than 6 inches from the front fork on original part. 2.6.25 All lubricants are free 2.6.26 Adjusting and polishing any parts are allowed. Installation Motoworks exhaust 1. Install Motoworks tailpipe with muffler using bolt supplied in kit. (Fig 3) 2. Tighten tailpipe mounting bolt. 3. RECHECK ALL YOUR WORK 4. We recommend that you clean the entire exhaust system with a mild detergent, i. e. glass cleaner prior to starting as any oily residue may cause permanent staining. 5. Before operating check for proper clearance between Motoworks exhaust and ATV i. e. frame, plastic, brake line, fuel line etc. if problems exist, recheck work. Note: It is normal for the new exhaust to emit white smoke the first time you start the ATV. This is from the oil used during manufacturing.

1. Remove the petrol tank (and seat if necessary) to gain access to the ignition coil, condensor and wiring. 2. For safety, disconnect the battery, if fitted (preferably both terminals). 3. Remove the spark plug. 4. Remove the alternator rotor cover (if fitted). 5. Loosen the auto-advance centre bolt. Rotate the engine to the correct full advance timing position for your machine (see table on page 6), using one of these methods: • Models from 1967 on: use the marks provided for strobe timing on the rotor & chaincase (inside the rotor cover). Unless these marks are known to be accurate it is recommended that they are checked for correct alignment. These marks should line up at the full advance position, check using one of the methods below and, if necessary, re-mark the rotor. • Models from 1969 on: use the timing plug on the left-hand crankcase • Use a degree disc on the crankshaft / camshaft (see table on page 6) • Use a dial guage down the spark plug hole (see table on page 6) 5. Remove kickstart, gear lever and outer timing cover. 6. Remove the contact-breaker plate and lead from the outer timing cover. 7. Taking the ignition trigger assembly, insert a small cable tie into the two holes in front of the connector block on the ignition trigger. This will be used later to secure the two wires to the plate. 8. Fit the ignition trigger plate with the adjustable slots at approx. 6 & 12 o’clock, using the original pillar fixings & washers, positioned in the centre of the slots (to allow for adjustment in either direction). 9. Remove the centre bolt securing the auto-advance unit. Remove the complete auto-advance unit with an extractor bolt or by tapping it gently sideways. 10. Fit the magnetic rotor in place of the auto-advance unit, with the magnets/ red marks positioned at approx. 3 & 9 o’clock. The magnetic rotor has a male taper which fits into the taper in the end of the camshaft. There is no keyway, allowing it to be fitted in any desired position. 11. Using the ¼” washer and the appropriate bolt (UNF or BSF), pass the bolt through the centre of the magnetic rotor and into the thread in the camshaft. Finger tighten only at this stage. The magnetic rotor centre thread (metric M8) is provided for attaching a puller, if the rotor should need to be removed for engine servicing, etc. 12. Replace the outer timing cover, gear lever & kickstart. 13. Check that the engine is still at the correct full advance position, then adjust the magnetic rotor position so that one of the red marks is centrally behind the static timing hole at 9 o’clock (see fig. 4, page 7). If your machine’s camshaft rotates clockwise, refer to fig. 3. Gently tap the rotor into the taper & tighten the centre bolt, using a 3/16″ allen key. WIRING: 14. All connections must be of the highest quality, use crimped or soldered connections; twisted wires will not give a satisfactory operation. Avoid coiling up surplus lead.
