When replacing the ECM (SAE term: PCM) or the Transponder ECU a “handshake” procedure must be performed. This ECU ID communication is necessary to enable the Transponder ECU and the ECM to recognize each other before the vehicle will start. Complete ECU communication using the following steps: 1. Insert a Master key into the ignition cylinder. 2. Turn the ignition ON (engine OFF). 3. Short Tc and CG terminals of DLC3 using the Diagnostic Check Wire (SST 09843-18020 or equivalent) and leave for 30 minutes. 4. After 30 minutes, turn the ignition OFF and remove check wire from DLC3. 5. Register any additional keys as necessary. 6. Start the vehicle to confirm successful ECU communication. Key Programming: To program or delete a key, a registered Master key is necessary unless the Transponder ECU has been reset or replaced. The Transponder ECU system incorporates a black “Master” key and a gray “Sub” key. The process during registration of these two keys is identical. The key itself now determines if it functions as Master or Sub, not the registration procedure. The maximum number of allowable Master and Sub keys vary by model. Refer to the chart below.

The PE-ECU-1 can be installed on virtually any 1,2,4,6 or 8 cylinder even-firing engine that requires fuel injection and/or ignition control. All of the functions of the ECU can be adjusted by using a laptop or PC running Windows. The following describes the basic requirements for using the system with a Honda 600cc F4 or F4I motorcycle engine. Please refer to the User’s Manual for a more in-depth description. Input Sensors The stock Honda F4 and F4I crank position sensors can be used with the PE-ECU-1 engine control system, provided the engine controller is configured for a 2- wire variable reluctance sensor. The configuration for the input is handled at the factory via a set of board jumpers. If the type of crank sensor should ever be changed, please contact PE for support on this issue. The stock Honda crank sensor should be wired according to the following: • Solid Yellow Wire – Pin 34 on ECU • Yellow with White Stripe (GND) – Pin 25 on ECU Failure to wire the sensor in this way may result in an engine that misfires and/or has incorrect ignition timing. The stock Honda trigger wheel cannot be used with the PE-ECU-1 system due to the differences in the number and spacing of the teeth. The PE-ECU-1 must be provided with a 12-1 pulse-train, correctly phased with TDC #1 according to Figure 1

ECU can be connected to AIM loggers in two different ways: directly, or using the connector placed on the dashboard. 2.1. – Direct connection between AIM loggers and Marelli IAW 5AM2 ECU IAW 5AM2 is equipped with two 38 pins connectors, named “Body ” and “Engine” – see below: “engine” is black (on the left). “Body” connector is grey (on the right). To connect AIM loggers to Ducati ECU: • connect AIM cable labelled CAN+ to pin 20 of “Body” connector. • connect AIM cable labelled CAN- to pin 29 of “Body” connector. • Vbatt is on pin 17 (vehicle master switch). 2.2 – Dashboard connector Connector is equipped with 26 pins and it is placed on the back of the dashboard. To connect AIM loggers to ECU using the dashboard connector: • connect AIM cable labelled CAN+ to pin 19 (green/black twisted cable) connector. • connect AIM cable labelled CAN – to pin 26 (grey/green twisted cable) connector. • Vbatt is on pin 23 – red /black cable – vehicle master switch. Warning: to use Marelli dashboard , please remove 120 OHM resistance placed between CAN+ and CAN-; otherwise Marelli dash does not work

Before replacing an ECU or a cold start injector time switch, perform a thorough inspection to verify that all engine mechanical, fuel and electrical/electronic systems are to recommended specifications. PARTS RETURN INFORMATION: The replacement ECU’s are remanufactured by Nippondenso-Los Angeles (NDLA). In order to maintain cores for rebuilt units, the original ECU must be sent to NDLA as soon as it has been replaced.

1. Remove seat, exposing factory computer (ECU). disconnect factory wiring by pressing lock and pushing lever back. 2. Remove ECU by pushing tab and sliding the ECU to the right as you lift. 3. Gently align the pins of the Fuelpak connector with the ECU and press the connector on the ECU. Be sure the single large pin is aligned with the single large socket before pressing Fuelpak connector into the ECU. Make sure all four tabs fully latch. (Fuelpak connector Patent Pending# 29 295831) 4. Connect factory wiring to Fuelpak connector and pull lever to locked location. Be sure that lock snaps into position. 5. Reinstall ECU. 6. Remove left side cover. 7. Slide Fuelpak down through opening leading to the area under the left side cover. 8. Attach Fuelpak to the fuse cover using supplied velcro.
HOW IT WORKS ENTERING VALUES 1. Remove Fuelpak clear case cover by removing all four screws, save hardware . 2. Turn on main power and handlebar switches, but do not start engine. Fuelpak display should light up, if not, turn power off and verify the connectors are fully seated. 3. Refer to Fuelpak Setting Reference to locate the Setting Values specific to your bike and exhaust system. If you do not find your setting, visit fuelpakfi.com or call tech support at (562) 921-0071. 4. Starting with mode 1 selected, press the value (+) or the value (-) buttons to input the correct value as indicated in your Setting Value. After entering your first value, press the mode select button to move to mode 2 and enter the value. Continue until you have entered the value for each of the first 18 mode positions. Each time the value (+) is pressed, the value increases by one number. Each time the value (-) is pressed, the value decreases by one number. (Please refer to the “How It Works” section directly above if you have questions about this step. 5. By pressing the mode select button 3-times, move to mode 21 and verify that it reads “0″ 6. Enter any other mode values as required for your application. 7. Turn power off, wait one second then turn power back on. Verify all modes then turn power off. 8. Reinstall Fuelpak clear cover then reinstall side cover

Begin by placing winch in freespool. Support the winch so that it will stand upright on the workbench, Fig. 1. This will ensure that the winch drivetrain will not be dislocated during disassembly. 2. Remove the two lower cap screws and nuts. Next remove the two upper cap screws, Fig. 2. Take care not to disturb the gear set. 4. Rotate the gear housing clockwise 90 degrees and place back down over the gear set. It may take slight twisting motion to have the housing align and drop over the gear set. 5. Align holes and replace hardware securing the endhousing back on the winch. Torque bolts to 45 in-lbs. 1 Remove the seat. 2 Remove saddlebags if installed. 3 Remove left and right side covers. 4 Remove the battery (negative terminal first). 5 Loosen the two 7/16 nuts that retain the ECU (Fig. A) 6 From the left side (underneath the left side cover area) feed the PC III connectors in front of battery tray, and out the right side (in front of the ECU bracket)( Fig. B). 7 Attach PC III module to battery box. First, clean the PCII and battery box with the supplied alcohol wipe. Using the supplied velcro attach PCIII to the battery box. Also secure the unit with the included zip ties. If your bike has cruise control, attach the unit to the face of the cruise control module (Fig. C). 8 Disconnect the large connector from the ECU. Remove the rubber dust shield. 9 Install the dust shield onto the matching connector on the PC III. Zip tie the rubber dust shield to the PC III connector with zip tie provided. 10 Plug the PC III connector into the stock ECU. 11 Plug stock connector into the remaining connector fromthe PCIII(Fig. D). 12 Tighten the two 7/16 nuts that retain the ECU. 13 Route the connectors alongside the ECU and install the right side cover. 14 Replace the battery, the left side cover and the seat. 8 5 Adjusting Your Power Commander Your Power Commander has been programmed with a base map for your application. You can adjust the base map or install an alternate map using your Computer. Please refer to the supplied CD-Rom for more information. You can also adjust your Power Commander using the face plate buttons as described below. 1. With the ignition off, hold down all three buttons on the Power Commander II unit. 2. While still holding down the buttons, turn the ignition on. 3. Release buttons. 4. Select the range you wish to adjust: Low, Med, High, by pushing the corresponding button once. 5. At this point holding that button down will move the lights down ( leaning out the mixture). 6. Pushing the button repeatedly will move the light up (richening the mixture). 7. When the two center light are lit up this is the “0″ setting. After making your adjustments wait 20 seconds before starting the bike or turning it off. This allows the settings to be saved to memory. To verify that it is safe to start the bike, move the throttle and watch to see if the lights move up and down the scale. If they do, you may start or turn off the bike

The PGR-1000 is designed for motorcycles with an Electronic VSS signal. Most modern motorcycles use a 3-wire hall-effect type speed sensor in the transmission with a power, ground, and a signal wire. Check the power, ground, and TX+, TX- wiring between the RSE ECU and the display. Perform the following check without disconnecting any connectors. A. Using the EWD, check the resistance of the wires between the DVD player ground terminal or integrated DVD player/RSE display and chassis ground. The resistance of the wires should be below 1 Ω. Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS): applicable model year Wiring Diagrams. B. Check the resistance of the wires between the RSE ECU ground terminal and chassis ground. The resistance of the wires should be below 1 Ω. C. Check the voltage on the power terminals on the DVD player and the RSE ECU. Voltage should be greater than 12 V. D. Check the voltage between terminals TX+ and chassis ground and TX- and chassis ground at both the RSE ECU and the DVD player. Voltage should be between 2.0 V and 3.0 V Check the resistance of the wires between the RSE ECU and the radio/player. The resistance of the wires should be below 1Ω. C. Check the resistance of the wires between the RSE ECU and the radio/player to ground. The resistance of the wires should be 10 kΩ or higher
