Starting at the beginning of production for the 2002 model year for Lexus and 2004 for Toyota, a spin-off of the U140/U240 Four speed transaxle, designated as the U150/U250 series was born. This transmission is classified as a 5 speed transmission, although it has 6 ratio’s possible in the Drive position. The U150/250 is very similar to it’s smaller brother, the U140, and actually uses some of the same parts. This Transaxles shift points, and shift feel are electronically controlled by a Powertrain Control Module. This is accomplished by the PCM monitoring engine load and adjusting solenoid duty cycle to match pressure rise and shift feel. The PCM also monitors the turbine and output speed sensors to calculate gear ratio and the Transmission Range Sensor for gear selection.

Removal Procedure: 4.7L V8 OE Air Inlet System (a) Remove the two 10 mm cap nuts and throttle body cover (Fig. 4-1). (b) Remove air cleaner hose assembly. (1) Disconnect the vacuum hose and No. 2 ventilation hose (Fig. 4-2).
(2) Loosen the two 10 mm hose clamps and remove the air cleaner hose (Fig. 4-2). 5. Removal Procedure: 5.7L and 4.7L V8 OE Air Inlet System (a) Remove the air cleaner lid. (1) Disconnect the MAF sensor connector (Fig. 5-1).
(2) Using a clip remover, detach the wire harness clamp (Fig. 5-1). (3) Unfasten the 4 hook clamps and then
remove the air cleaner lid (Fig. 5-1). (b) Remove OE air filter and save. (c) Remove the two 10 mm bolts and air cleaner
case (Fig. 5-2)

FOR YOUR SAFETY, DO NOT TRY TO INFLATE THE AIR SPRINGS UNTIL THEY HAVE BEEN PROPERLY SECURED TO THE VEHICLE. 1. Jack up the rear of the vehicle using a jack or a hoist. Support the rear axle with jack stands and remove the rear wheels (fig. 2). Installing the loadlifter 5000 system TOOLS LIST Description .Qty Hoist or floor jacks . 1 Safety stands 2 Safety glasses 1 Torque wrench 1 5/16″ open-end or box wrench1 7/16″ open-end or box wrench.1 9/16″ open-end or box wrench1 Crescent wrench 1 Description  . . . . . . Bend the emergency brake cable bracket forward slightly on both sides of the vehicle (fig. 3). 3. It will be necessary to trim the stock jounce bumper to gain clearance for the air spring assembly’s lower bracket. Measure up from the base ¾” and mark a line on the jounce bumper. Using a box cutter or equivalent, cut the top of the jounce bumper off (fig. 3). USE ExTREME CAUTION WHEN CUTTING OFF THE JOUNCE BUMPER WITH THE CUTTING TOOL. CAUTION

Relationship Between Tire Characteristics and Vehicle Pulling to One Side When radial tires are rotating, they have the characteristic of generating force in the lateral direction between the tire and the road surface. This lateral force is comprised of two factors: S Ply-steer, which changes direction according to the rotation direction of the tires.
S Conicity, which is generated in a fixed direction regardless of the tire rotation direction. If these lateral forces are too strong, vehicle pulling will occur. A. Ply-Steer Lateral force due to ply-steer is produced by the construction of the belts inside the tire tread. With radial tires, the wire of the belt is slanted as shown in the illustration below. Thus, it is in the lateral direction that tire tread easily changes shape (stretches), and lateral force is generated between the tire and the road surface in the lateral direction.
