Ducati SPORT TOURING HEADLIGHT UPGRADE INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove the following fairing components per the instructions in the Ducati owners manual: • Instrument surrounds • Headlight fairing • Chin fairing (under headlight/air intake) • Right-side middle fairing (covers battery) 2. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the speedometer. Unthread the ring nut at the top of the speedometer cable and retract the cable downward about 4-6 inches. 3. Disconnect the headlight wiring from the headlight bulbs. Retract the rubber boots at the rear of the headlight assembly to gain access to the wire terminals. Note that the two ¼ inch terminals at the high- beam bulb have locking clips that should be depressed before pulling the terminal away from the bulb. 4. Unplug the parking light from the headlight body by grasping the wires and carefully pulling it out. 5. Remove the two rubber plugs covering the lower headlight mounting screw access holes beneath the air intake horn. 6. Using an 8mm hex socket inserted through the lower access holes remove the two hex-head bolts securing the bottom of the headlight to the frame. 7. Using the same socket wrench, remove the two 8mm hex-head bolts securing the top of the headlight assembly to the frame. 8. Remove the headlight assembly from the frame. 9. Remove the two rubber grommets and steel reducing sleeves from the frame at the top mounting locations for the headlight. Leave the lower pair in place; these will be re-used, as shown in Figure 6

If the headlight bulb burns out, replace it as follows. 1. Remove the headlight unit by re- moving the screws. 2. Disconnect the headlight coupler, and then remove the headlight unit and bulb cover. 1. Headlight bulb holder 3. Remove the headlight bulb holder by turning it counterclockwise, and then remove the defective bulb. EWOOOl19 Headlight bulbs get very hot. Therefore, keep flammable products away from a lit headlight bulb, and do not touch the bulb until it has cooled down. 4. Place a new bulb into position, and then secure it with the bulb holder. 1. Do not touch this area. EC000105 Do not touch the glass part of the headlight bulb to keep it free from oil, otherwise the transparency of the glass, the luminosity of the bulb, and the bulb life will be adversely affected. Thoroughly clean off any dirt and fingerprints on the headlight bulb using a cloth moistened with alcohol or thinner. 5. Install the bulb cover, and then connect the coupler. 6. MULTI-RATE SPRINGS AND THE ARS SYSTEM Depending on the application dual–rate springs are fitted on the shocks. Dual-rate springs are just that– a spring set with two separate rates. This is done with a short spring stacked on a longer spring. As both springs collapse they produce a soft, or initial, rate. The spring set will maintain this initial rate until the short spring stops compressing. At that point, the spring rate “crosses over” to the stiffer, or final, rate. This multi-rate system allows a soft initial rate for comfort on small bumps, but has the capability of soaking up the big pot-holes and other off road hazards. ARS stands for Adjustable Rate Suspension. ARS is available on some dual-rate spring 4-wheel ATV shocks. ARS differs from spring preload. The ARS system allows the rider to increase or decrease the load-carrying capacity of the shocks by turning a lever. Depending on the application and spring set, the rider can increase the load capacity of the shocks up to 50 percent. increase the capacity of the shocks to only about 5 to 10 percent. ARS allows the shocks to be correct for solo riding, but still handle the increased weight of an added load. ARS can also be employed to stiffen the rates for aggressive riding. The ARS system consists of an indexing lever and a stepped cup that contains the short spring of the dual- rate. The position of the lever in relation to the steps in the cup determines how long the spring set remains on the soft, or initial, spring rate. On most ARS applications, four positions can be selected from full stiff to full soft. Indexing is done in a matter of seconds by rotating the lever or the cup by hand. Indexing the cup to the lever is usually preferable to avoid interference. Adjustment of the ARS system should only be made while the vehicle is unloaded to reduce the load on the springs. NOTE: It is important to make sure that a step in the cup is positioned directly over the tang on the lever. This will prevent damage to the cup and/or lever that can be caused by making partial contact between the tang and a step. In addition, make sure that the lever will not contact any vehicle parts around it, as the suspension moves up. TUNING TIPS—The “softest” setting on the ARS does not mean that the ride will be the most comfortable at that setting. It means that this is the softest spring setting which would be employed on smooth trails or without a load. Excessive suspension bottoming caused by rough conditions or by the addition of a large load will cause a harsh ride when the shock is adjusted to this setting. To eliminate this bottoming, adjust the ARS to the stiffer positions for a more comfortable ride. Hence, sometimes “stiffer is softer.” NITROGEN PRESSURES IN EMULSION SHOCKS

Remove the lower fairing. Remove the lower radiator mounting bolts, loosen the upper bolts and pivot the
radiator forward to provide access to the exhaust nuts (flange nuts). Remove the oil cooler mounting bolts and
pivot the oil cooler forward to provide access.
2. Remove the existing exhaust system and save the flange nuts for reuse. Save the stock exhaust can mounting
bolt and nut for the end can to the passenger footpeg for reuse as well.
3. Inspect the exhaust gaskets. Replace if necessary.
4. Assemble the head pipes 1 (blue), 2 (red), 3 (yellow), and 4 (green) by matching the joints of the same color to
the pair of front Y-pipes. Do not install the exhaust springs at this time.
5. Remove the rubber center stand stop from the stock exhaust system. Insert the rubber stop into the supplied
steel bracket. Mount the bracket to the right side of centerstand using the stock mounting bolt, and tighten fully.
6. Attach the assembled head pipe sections to the exhaust ports, but do not tighten the flange nuts fully, allowing
for some adjustment in the remaining steps. Reuse the flange nuts saved from step 2 above. Make sure the
ends of the headpipes fit flush and snug in the ports before tightening.
7. Install the S-Bend to the front section of the headpipes and two Y-pipes.
8. Go back and retighten the head pipe flange nuts per factory specification.
9. Slide the TiForce end can into place.
10. Loosely attach the two rubber bands, stainless steel bands K, and stay / hanger G to the end can using the
supplied 6mm hardware H. See figure 1.
11. Place the bands approximately 115mm from the edge of the end can. See figure 2.
12. Using the stock provided mounting point on the passenger footpeg, and using the stock mounting bolt, mount
the end can loosely, allowing for some adjustment. Insert the stock mounting bolt through the stay / hanger G.
13. Attach the supplied springs to all the joints, starting from the headpipes and working back to the end can. Please

Begin by removing the front skid plate located on the front of the ATV. Remove the four side 8mm bolts and four bottom 6mm bolts securing the front skid plate, figure 1. Save the fasteners as they will be used later to reinstall the front skid plate. 2. Remove the four plastic rivets on each side of the front plastic fascia, figure 2. Use a large screw driver to carefully remove the center rivet. After removing the center rivet, remove the rivet housing. Save the fasteners as they will be used to reinstall the front plastic fascia. 3. Remove the two 6mm bolts that attach the front plastic fascia to the bumper, figure 3. Remove the front plastic fascia at this time . Remove the two 6mm bolts that attach the front bumper to the plastic headlight assembly, figure 4. Save the fasteners as they will be used to reinstall the front bumper. 5. Remove the two top 8mm bumper bolts that attach the front bumper to the front rack, figure 5.
