Remove the main seat. 2) Open the passenger seat hatch. 3) Remove the fuel tank mounting bolts. NOTE: The fuel tank does not need to be removed in order to install the PCII. If you choose to remove the fuel tank to aid in the installa- tion, then all fuel must be drained prior to disconnecting the fuel lines. 4) Locate the main injector harness connector. It is on the right side of the chassis near the fuel hose fitting on the throttle bodies. 5) Disconnect the injector harness connector. 6) Plug the male connector from the PCIIIr into the female connectorm on the main harness (Fig. A). 7) Plug the female connector from the PCIIIr into the male connector from the stock injector harness (Fig. B). 8) Locate the small, red, 2 pin connector (Fig. C) from the crank position sensor. Match the corresponding connectors from the PCIIIr, in-line of the stock wiring harness (Fig. D). 9)Route the harness from the PCIIIr under the fuel tank towards the tail section. 10) Reinstall the fuel tank, make sure not to pinch the PCIIIr harness. 11) Attach the ground wire from the PCIIr to the negative terminal of the battery. (Fig. E) 12) Route the PCIIIr and wiring under the rear seat subframe. Attach to inner fender below passenger seat using supplied velcro (Fig. F). 13) Reinstall the main seat

INSTALLATION ■ Outline Procedures This section gives general information needed for mounting the individual radio components on and in the fairing. A) Fairing 1) Install radio on fairing before mounting fairing on motorcycle. (Remove fairing from your motorcycle when already mounted). 2) Remove fairing parts. 3) Drill unit mount holes. 4) Install six wire clips. 5) Install windshield on fairing before install- ing speakers. 6) Install radio indicator I on indicator panel II , then install indicator panel on fairing. 7) Install speakers III. 8) Install nutplate IV. 9) Install Power Amplifier in fairing. 10) Install radio funer VI. 11) Install the radio controller VII. 12) Install controller base panel VIII 13) Install radio switch sub-wire. 14) Connect adapter harness and wires inside fairing by working through left turn signal lens hole. B) Motorcycle frame and handlebar 1) Remove travel trunk and seat. Unscrew four shelter bolts (M6, one on each side at front and rear) to route antenna feeder. 2) Install antenna mount and antenna IX. 3) Route antenna feeder along the frame tube. 4) Install radio switch X on left handlebar lever bracket and route the wires. 3 of 11 Page 4 C) Fairing instllation 1) Install fairing on motorcycle. 2) Connect motorcycle wire harness 9-P coupler to fairing wire 9-P coupler. 3) Connect radio switch wire to switch sub- wire.4) Connect antenna feeder. 5) Confirm that radio operates properly. Reinstall parts removed in step 2 or (A) and in step 1 of (B). REWORKING ■ Remove Fairing and Fairing Parts (Fig.10) 1) Install radio on fairing before mounting fairing on motorcycle. (Remove fairing from your motorcycle when already mounted). 2) Remove right and left fairing pockets, right and left turn signal lenses, right and left nutplates, left hole cover and indi- cator base panel from fairing. (Fig.10) Fig. 10 LEI-1 NU I PLATE 4 of 11■ Reworking on Fairing — Speaker mounting holes- 1) Remove 18 mm grommet. 2) Lightly roll template so that it will follow contour of fairing snugly. 3) Position template on fairing with its upper and outer edges aligned with those offairing as indicated by arrows. 4) Attach template to fairing using adhesive tape where shown. 5) Punch mark centers of four holes with a
drift and hammer. 6) Drill 6 mm holes through marked centers. To obtain a more balanced response with richer, deeper bases, drill two 50 mm holes in the fairing so as to link the speaker box with the inside of the fairing. Fig. 11-1

The PE-ECU-1 can be installed on virtually any 1,2,4,6 or 8 cylinder even-firing engine that requires fuel injection and/or ignition control. All of the functions of the ECU can be adjusted by using a laptop or PC running Windows. The following describes the basic requirements for using the system with a Honda 600cc F4 or F4I motorcycle engine. Please refer to the User’s Manual for a more in-depth description. Input Sensors The stock Honda F4 and F4I crank position sensors can be used with the PE-ECU-1 engine control system, provided the engine controller is configured for a 2- wire variable reluctance sensor. The configuration for the input is handled at the factory via a set of board jumpers. If the type of crank sensor should ever be changed, please contact PE for support on this issue. The stock Honda crank sensor should be wired according to the following: • Solid Yellow Wire – Pin 34 on ECU • Yellow with White Stripe (GND) – Pin 25 on ECU Failure to wire the sensor in this way may result in an engine that misfires and/or has incorrect ignition timing. The stock Honda trigger wheel cannot be used with the PE-ECU-1 system due to the differences in the number and spacing of the teeth. The PE-ECU-1 must be provided with a 12-1 pulse-train, correctly phased with TDC #1 according to Figure 1

Carefully remove the tail section body work. Save all bolts, washers and plastic rivets for re-installation of tail. Disconnect and remove the brake light (with all mounting grommets and washers), license plate and turn signals, key lock (with clip) and move all wiring out of the cutting areas. Remove the two bolts at the rear end of the stock fender (inside glove box) to allow the end to hang down for cutting.
2) Using a “Dremel” tool or cutting disc (this can also be done using a sharp edged knife, but is not recommended), remove the plastic shown in the photos to the above and below. Be sure to take your time cutting, so that you don’t cut away any more plastic than necessary. Honda CBR954RR Undertail Kit (2002-03, Available in: Honda Red, Gloss Black and Gun Metal) 3) *Install license plate brackets to back side of license plate as shown. Now hold license plate in desired location on undertail, carefully mark and drill holes, install using the two (2) sets of allen bolts and lock nuts. 4) Insert undertail left side first, then right side, be carefully not to crack
or scratch undertail. Use your stock plastic screw rivets to hold under- tail in place. Tighten all hardware on tail section, attach seat.
5) Using clips, splice your turn signal wires to the signals in the undertail. On the bike; the orange wire is the the left turn, light blue wire is the right turn and the green wires are the grounds. On the undertail the red wires are the power wires and the black wires are the ground. * After this modification your undertail is not returnable. Paint is not warrantied against paint chips, flaking or scratches from installation or rocks being thrown from tire into the tray. Need Help? (REMOVE THE ONE BOLT AND UNCLIP) TRIM PLASTIC UNCLIP REMOVE 6. REMOVE LOWER FOOT PEG BRACKET AND REMOVE THE HEAT SHIELD BOLT. ALLOW THE FOOT PEG BRACKET TO HANG BY THE HOSE AND WIRES. REMOVE 7. REMOVE THE PASSANGER FOOT PEG BRACKET ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

We highly recommend having a professional install this undertail. A dremel tool or nsimilar is what we found the best to cut plastics. Place bike on a rear wheel center stand. Remove passenger seat and hardware which secure stock undertail section Unplug the harness that connects tail light and remove the stock undertail. Position Bestem undertail close to the bike and determine the amount of plastic needs to be cut out. Use a dremel tool to carefully trim off plastics (glove boxes etc). This is the most time consuming part of the installation but your patience will be paid off. 5) Once the new undertail is slide in, determine holes need to be drilled (only on
certain models). Reuse the hardware for the stock undertail to secure the new undertail. 6) The wiring color codes from two round tail lights are Black Wire – Ground, connects to Ground wire. Red Wire – Brake Light, connects to brake light. Blue Wire – Running Light, connect directly to the running light. Orange Wire – Turn Signal, connect them to your L/R turn signal wires We highly suggest you solder the connections and use heat shrink wrap to seal the connections. Test your lights before going out for a ride, also make sure your new undertail is securely installed on the bike. Now it’s time to go out for a spin!
