Main Switches On Position: • Electrical circuits are switched on. Battery • This scooter uses a sealed lead acid battery, it is unnecessary to check or add liquid. NOTE: Never open the electrolyte of a sealed battery. Remove the battery from the scooter and store separately in a well ventilated area when the scooter is not in operation for long periods of time Speedometer • Speed is measured in mph. Odometer • The total riding distance is indicated. Fuel gauge • The gauge indicates how much fuel is in the tank (the gauge does not work when the ignition switch is off). The needle moves from full “F” to empty “E” as your fuel decreases. Fill the tank with a good grade of 89-90 octane unleaded gasoline. High Beam Indicator LIght • The high beam light indicates that the high beam headlight is in use. NOTE: Apply the low beam to avoid obstructing the view of other drivers. Turn Signal Indication Light • The turn signals indicate that you are turning a chosen direction, push the button in the desired turning direction, it will return to the center, press the button in to turn off. Checking the electric starter motor for wear -Check Bendix 1 for smooth operation and signs of wear. -Check the sprocket of the electric starter for wear and radial clearance. -Replace O-ring 2 of the electric starter. -Replace gasket 3 . -Check starter idler gear 4 for smooth operation and wear, check that the bearing bushings are seated firmly. Electric starter motor – checking for and adjusting play -Mount the electric starter and the starter idler gear. -Mount the tighten cover 5 . -Move starter idler gear 4 back and forth in the direction of rotation, the maximum play may not exceed half the width of a tooth. -If play is larger, cover 5 must be removed and as many shims 6 with a thickness of 0.10 mm as necessary must be added to eliminate all play. Use a 10mm ratchet attachment to remove the battery from the vehicle. Negative terminal first, then positive. Be careful not to cause an arc between the two terminals as intense pain will result.
Remove the plastic plate that the battery sits in. 2. Using the 10mm attachment again, remove the 6 bolts that hold the passenger side front splash guard from underneath the front bumper. 3. From underneath the vehicle, locate the oil filter. Look above oil filter and you will see the starter. Locate the bottom 14 mm bolt that attaches the lower portion of the starter to the engine. The bolt drives from left to right. The starter is mounted toward the front of the vehicle and underneath the intake manifold. Still cant find it?
Follow the cable that leads from the positive battery terminal. It ends at the starter. Not sure you have the right bolt? Stick your 14mm attachment on it with your fingers and see if it fits on properly

Engine Oil Replacement • Replace the engine oil after the first 50 miles or 1 hour with 5w50, 10w50 or 15W50 synthetic engine oil. Then replace again every 1,500 miles or 1 each year. Check oil level every 500 miles, add oil if needed. Changing the Engine Oil (1).Warm up the engine for a few minutes. (2).Stop the engine. (3). Place scooter on center stand. (4).Place an oil pan under the engine and remove the dipstick. (5).Remove the drain plug and drain the oil. Reach in drain hole, pull out filter clean and reinstall, after all oil drains out. (6).Reinstall drain plug. (7). Fill the engine with oil until the level is in the designated area on the dipstick. (8).Start the engine and check for oil leaks. If a leak is found stop the engine immediately and look for cause. Rear Wheel Oil Replacement • Replace the gear oil after the first 500 miles with 5W/50 synthetic engine oil. Replace the gear oil again every 4 months or every 2000 miles. • Replacing the Gear Oil (1).Put the scooter on the center stand (please see photo below) . (2).Place an oil pan under the gear case (please see photo below) . (3).Remove the oil filler bolt and the drain plug to drain the oil (please see photo below) . (4).Reinstall and tighten the drain plug. (5).Fill the gear case with oil (please see photo below) . (6).Reinstall the oil filler bolt. (7).Check for oil leakage. Cleaning Air Cleaner Be sure to check the air cleaner regularly. (1).Place the scooter on the center stand. (2).Unscrew and remove the left side panel. (3).Remove the air cleaner cover by removing the screws. (4).Take out the air cleaner by removing the screws. (5).Remove the air cleaner element and wash it gently, but thoroughly in solvent. Replace if damaged. (6).Squeeze out the excess solvent and dry it. (7).Apply oil to the entire surface of the air cleaner and squeeze out the excess oil. It should be damp but not dripping. • Check before Riding • Make sure the brakes work properly and adjust if necessary. • Check all nuts and bolts for tightness. • Make sure that the gas tank is full. • Check tire pressure. • Check all gauges. • Check and make sure that all of the lights are working properly, headlight, taillight, turn signal etc. • Check the engine oil. STARTING, RIDING, STOPPING AND PARKING Before starting, put the kickstand up. • Practice in an empty area away from people and vehicles. • Always remember to obey your local and state laws and regulations. • Be sure your bike has fuel and oil. • Be sure the bike is in neutral. • Apply the rear brake. • Turn the key on. • Press the electric start button. • After engine warms up, push the choke 1/4 in then 1/2 in and in 1 minute completely off. • If the engine is warm it should start without choking. • For a cold engine, let the engine idle for 1-3 minutes before driving, then begin to turn the choke off. • Never exceed 4 seconds when engaging the starter. • Release the button immediately after the engine starts. • Do not apply the key while the engine is running, it can cause damage to the starter. • Sit on the bike keeping one foot on the ground for stability, release the clutch by pulling in the lever, shift bike into first gear by using the foot shifter. • Apply the throttle gradually as you release the clutch lever slowly until the clutch engages. • To shift into the next gear release the throttle pull the clutch lever in and shift into the next gear, after you shift, gradually apply the throttle and slowly release the clutch. • Use this sequence when shifting to all gears. • Only put your feet on the ground when coming to a stop. • When coming to a stop decrease your speed by releasing the throttle and applying the brakes and the clutch, if the tire skids release the brake and reapply. • Parking: Put your kick stand down. Headlamp switch (XC-W) In this model the headlamp is switched on with the pull switch  . Flasher switch The flasher switch is a separate unit and is mounted on the left portion of the handlebar. The wire harness is designed in a way that whenever you want to use your bike off-road, you can dismount the entire turn indicator system without affecting the function of the remaining electrical system. Flasher left Flasher right Starter button Pushing the black starter button  will actuate the E-starter. Indicator lamps The green control lamp  flashes in the same rhythm as the flashing indicator when the indicator is working. The blue control lamp  lights up when the high beam is on. ENGLISH 7 2 Emergency OFF switch (EXC Australia) The red emergency-OFF switch  is arranged adjacent to the throttle grip. In this position, the E-starter is operational and the engine can be started. In this position, the E-starter and ignition circuits are interrupted.The E-starter cannot be actuated, and the engine will not start, not even if you attempt to start it with the kickstarter.
