INSTALLATION Prepare the Motorcycle 1. Remove the right cover and the maxi-fuse. 2. Follow Service Manual instructions to remove the air box cover. Remove the Existing Rear Turn Signals 1. For 2006 and Earlier Models: See Figure 1. Insert a screwdriver into middle of hole of license plate light cover. Push forward to release tail lamp housing retaining clip. 2. See Figure 3. Identify the white left [19] (1) and black right [18] (2) 2 pin rear turn signal connectors. 3. See Figure 6. To separate the rear turn signal connector, press the button (1) and separate the pin terminal housing from the socket terminal housing. 4. On the socket terminal housing, press the latch (2) aside and open the secondary lock (3). 5. To remove the rear turn signal wires from the socket terminal housing, insert a pin (6) into the front socket cavity. Compress the tang (4) while gently pulling the wire and socket terminal (5) from the back. 6. See Figure 7. Inside the fender, remove the fasteners (1) and the turn signal support plate (2). Pull the turn signal wiring through holes in license plate mounting bracket and remove turn signals. 7. Repeat for the opposite turn signal. 1. For 2007 and Later Models: See Figure 2. Open seat and remove the nut and washer (3), seat post (2), passenger pillion and passenger seat (1) per the instructions in the Service Manual. 2. See Figure 4. Identify the left (1) and right (2) rear turn signal wires and 6 pin rear turn signal connector [94]. 3. See Figure 6. To separate the rear turn signal connector, press the button (1) and separate the pin terminal housing from the socket terminal housing. 4. On the socket terminal housing, press the latch (2) aside and open the secondary lock (3). 5. See Figure 5. Remove the turn signal wires from the 6 pin socket terminal housing. To remove the wires, insert a pin (6) into the front socket cavity. Compress the tang (4) while gently pulling the wire and socket terminal (5) from the back. Repeat for all four turn signal wires. Do not remove the license light wires from the socket terminal housing. 6. Gently pull the loose turn signal wires through the sheath toward the rear of the vehicle until completely removed from the sheath. 7. See Figure 7. Inside the fender, remove the fasteners (1) and the turn signal support plate (2). Pull the turn signal wiring through holes in license plate mounting bracket and remove turn signals. 8. Repeat for the opposite turn signal

Remove turn signal and wires from vehicle by routing turn signal wiring and connector through holes in rear fender and fender support. Gently guide wires through holes to ensure they do not get damaged. Feed Wiring and Install Relocation Bracket 1. See Figure 6. Align relocation bracket (1) with rear of fender support and install with screw (2) and nut (3) from kit. Tighten nut to 12-16 ft-lbs (16.3-21.7 Nm). Complete Turn Signal Relocation Wiring 1. 1. Place motorcycle on solid, level ground and on center stand if equipped. 2. Remove your turn signal lens. Place it upside down and clean the lens interior with the supplied alcohol wipe. Allow to completely air dry. Note: the LEDs are mounted to the inside of the turn signal lens with the LEDs making direct contact with the lens. The supplied silicone is used to secure the LED board to the lens. It remains flexible but can be removed. Test fit the board in your lens prior to using silicone. 3. Using a small screwdriver, poke a small hole in the end of the tube of silicone. Place a dab of silicone on each of the 12 LEDs on the circuit board. CAUTION : Note the position of the metal pins on the back of the LED board, They must be located 90 degrees from where the holes are that secure the lens to the housing. See attached diagram. 4. Position the round circuit board over the inside of your turn signal lens with the LEDs facing down. Get the board as centered as possible. Allow the silicone to make contact with the inside of the lens and then push down and slightly rotate the board back and forth to allow the LEDs to make contact with the lens surface. Repeat other side. NOTE : the silicone will require 30 minutes in 70 degree weather to tack up. Full cure will occur within 24 hours. We suggest not riding for several hours if possible to allow the best adhesion. 5. You will need to access the following wires; running light (license plate can be used), brake lights, right turn and left turn. Disassemble the bike as needed to gain access to the wiring. Shop Tip: we have found that on the Yamaha Star Series and the Kawasaki Cruisers that installation is much easier when you remove the turn signal bar from the fender. On the Yamahas, there are 3 bolts holding the moustache in position. The wires will unplug from behind the license plate. On the Kawasakis, unplug the signals under the seat and bend the tabs under the fender to be able to remove the wires. 6. We have provided some tubing to slide over the wires so that when you re-install the bulb socket, our wires for the LED boards will not be pinched. This tube should be slid all the way into the turn signal housing. You may have to shorten the tubing for your installation. 7. You will need to run wires through the stem of the turn signal. You can see samples of how the various manufacturers signal housings come apart on our web site. Click on “Other Lighting Products” and then “Turn Signal Conversion Kits” and follow the link. We suggest placing the removed turn signal assembly on a towel on your work area. 7. You will need to leave 2″ of slack in the wires at the turn signal housing to allow for wire connection. 8. Reinstall the turn signal housing back on the motorcycle if removed. NOTE: both of the run/brake circuits must be used. You may shorten the wires only on the run/brake circuits as needed. Do not change the circuits under the heat shrink. T-Tap instructions. Lay the “donor” wire in the slot in the burgandy connector. Close and snap together with pliars. Strip some insulation off of the wire which will be tapping into the factory wire. Crimp one of the pink connectors on the bare wire and plug it into the burgandy T-Tap 9. Connect the green wires from the run/brake circuits to the bikes running lights. The 2 greens can be connected together. 10. Connect the blue wires from the run/brake circuits to the bikes brake lights. The 2 blues can be connected together. 11. Take one of the red wires from a run/brake circuit and connect it to one of the black with white stripe wires coming from one of the LED boards using the supplied red butt connector. Connect the other run/brake circuit red wire to the remaining black with white stripe wire on the other LED board. 12. Connect the black wire from the LED board on the right side of the bike to the right turn signal positive (+) wire on the motorcycle. 13. Connect the black wire from the LED board on the left side of the bike to the left turn signal positive (+) wire on the motorcycle. 14. Plug the wires into the LED boards. If you hold the turn signal lens so that you are viewing the back of the LED board, position the connectors on the board at the 12 o’clock (top) position. The connector on the left is the positive (+) terminal. Connect the red wire to it. Connect the black wire to the remaining connector on the right side. 15. Check operation. LEDs should come on with running lights. LEDs will brighten when brake lights are applied. LEDs will shut off when the amber turn signal comes on. 16. STEP 5 Remove the turn signal assembly from the stock mirror. Pay close attention to how the stock turn signal ball joint assembly comes apart as this will aid in re-assembly. STEP 6 Place a star washer over the mounting stud and insert the mirror and stud assembly into the hand control. Re-assemble the turn signal ball joint being sure the turn signal light is aimed to your liking. You may wish to consult your H-D shop manual when re-assembling this ball joint. WIRING: STEP 7 Determine where you wish to splice into the H-D turn signal wiring harness. Cut the harness or strip back an appropriate amount to vinyl wire covering and prepare the wires for splicing. Make the wire connections as follows: Wires from Turn Signal Mirror H-D Turn Signal Wire Colors Black – (Ground) Black (Ground) Red – (Running Light) Blue (Running Light) White (Turn Signal) Violet (Turn Signal) If a more pronounced flash is desired, one may eliminate the running light function and wire as follows: Black Black Red and White together Violet If these turn signal mirrors are to be used in conjunction with stock front turn signals, no load equalizer will be required. If the turn signal mirrors are REPLACING stock front turn signals, in most cases, a load equalizer is required. Step 1 •Prior to installation it is recommended that you perform a Pre-Function check. To do so, remove the left side battery cover from the bike and expose the post terminals. Hold the positive red lead from the turn signal to the positive red lead of the battery and then place the negative black lead from the turn signal to the negative black lead of the battery. Do one side at a time and ensure that both sides light prior to installation. Step 2 •Remove seat (passenger too if installed) •Remove fender “eyelashes” (required first if passenger seat is installed) •Remove the fender mounting bolts •Disconnect the rear turn signal and taillight harness connector located in the battery box compartment •Remove the fender by gentle prying outward and upward on one side to clear the mounting points, then the other side •Set aside on a flat and smooth surface to protect the fender’s finish (you may want to wrap it in a large towel) Step 3 •Turn the rear fender assembly upside down on a stable and covered/protected surface to prevent damaging the fender/paint •Remove the rear tail assembly and disconnect the wiring harness and license plate light. THIS PART IS NO LONGER NEEDED! Victory Vegas Rear LED Turn Signal Assembly Installation Guide •Remove the stock metal spacers shown below and replace them with the ¼” rubber spacers included in your accessory/installation kit. Step 4 •Place the turn signal assembly mounting arms over the rubber spacers. Align the turn signal in place so the space between the fender and the turn signal tube is consistent. After completing this step, place a small amount of Loc-Tite to the bolt and slowly tighten the stock nuts snugly in place, (extreme over-tightening may damage turn signal or fender lip). You should not need to loosen the mounting arms which are attached to the turn signal bracket to obtain the ideal fit; they are pre-assembled to be aligned. Please also note that due to manufacturing tolerances in the production of the fender, the rolled inner lip of it may interfere with the turn signal assembly seating properly. If this is the case, the lip can be tapped down flush with a rubber mallet or other appropriate tool. Take the necessary precautions to maintain your fender’s finish should this step be necessary. Step 5 •Run the wiring of the turn signal assembly in an appropriate/desireable path to the stock wiring harness. See picture below as an example. Once the wires are run, cut any excess wire and install the bullet connectors (included in the installation/accessory package) to the end of the wires. Due to the small gauge of the wire it’s suggested that you double it over before placing it into the bullet connector and solder it in place. Wire as follows:

INSTALLATION Outer Fairing/Windshield and Auxiliary Lamp Bracket Removal To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove maxi-fuse before proceeding. Refer to SYSTEM FUSES, MAXI- FUSE in Service Manual. NOTE Since the outer fairing screws hold the windshield in place, the windshield may fall to the floor if not removed. 2. Remove the windshield and outer fairing. Refer to UPPER FAIRING/WINDSHIELD in Service Manual for the outer fairing/windshield removal procedure. 3. Disconnect auxiliary lamp and turn signal connectors. NOTE See Figure 1. On 2005 and prior year models, the left and right turn signals plug into a 6-place connector located on the left fairing support brace. On 2006 and later models, each turn signal plugs into its own 4-place connector located toward the bottom of the inner fairing on each side. 4. Using a T40 Torx® drive head, remove and save the four bolts securing the auxiliary head lamp bracket to the chassis. 5. Remove auxiliary lamp bracket from motorcycle. Disconnect the battery cables, negative side first. 2. Remove the seat according to the procedures in the applicable Service Manual. NOTE Federal regulations require that red turn signal lenses need to be a minimum of 4 inches from the tail or stop lamp, edge to edge. In order to ensure this spacing requirement, new directional stand-offs are provided in kit and must be used to replace the original (stock) directional stand-offs. To install the new directional stand-offs, perform the following. 3. See Figure 1. Insert a small screwdriver into middle hole (1) of license plate light cover assembly (2). Lift tail lamp assembly upward and disconnect tail lamp connector (1). Disconnect left (2) and right (3) turn signal 2-place connectors. 5. See Figure 3. Remove two left side fender support front socket head screws (1). Save hardware for installation. 6. Remove left fender support capscrew (2) (under fender) near end of support and washer (3). Remove capscrew (4) at approximate midpoint of fender support and washer (5). Save hardware for installation. 7. Remove directional lamp screw (6) and washer (7). NOTE Prior to removing turn signal wires, carefully note routing. In particular, pay close attention to the locations of cable straps which must be replaced. 8. Carefully remove fender support (8), turn signal lamp (9) and directional lamp support (10) along with wiring through elongated hole in fender (11). Discard directional lamp support and cap screw. Save turn signal lamp for installa- tion. 9. Perform Steps 5 through 8 for the right fender support and signal lamp assembly. NOTE At this point, the two turn signal pin terminals must be removed from the two-place connector in order to remove the turn signal and directional stand-off from the fender support. The pin terminals will be re-installed to the connector after routing wiring through new directional stand-off and installing stand-off and turn signal to fender support. Follow the instructions under AMP MULTILOCK CONNECTORS in the applicable Service Manual to remove the pin terminals from the two-place con- nector. 10. See Figure 3. Obtain new directional stand-off and cap- screw from kit. Route wiring from turn signal lamp (9) through new directional lamp support (10) and elongated fender support hole (11). Step 1 •Remove rider’s seat, strut covers, and passenger seat (if applicable) •Separate wiring harness connector for rear lights •Remove screws from each side of fender and plastic connectors from plastic inner fender •Carefully remove the fender by gentle prying outward and upward on one side to clear the mounting points, then the other side •Set aside on a flat and smooth surface to protect the fender’s finish Step 2 •Turn the rear fender assembly upside down on a stable and covered/protected surface to prevent damaging the fender/paint •Remove the metal piece that covers the rear wiring harness area (10mm socket) and unscrew the wire junction box (5mm Allen wrench) •Disconnect the turn signals from the stock wiring harness and unscrew the Allen bolts holding them in place (5mm Allen) •Enlarge the center mounting hole in the inner fender of the turn signal mounting location with a 3/8ths metal drill bit (see picture below). Be extremely careful to drill slowly and make sure to avoid contact with the sides of the fender! Ensure that the surface area where the holes have been made are smooth. This will allow for a flush fit with the turn signal mounting blocks. If not, use a small file or other suitable tool to fix it. Don’t be concerned if your new hole extends into the other holes. Step 3 •Prior to installing the silver bullets, choose which style bezel you prefer, visor or visor-less. Both styles are included with amber LEDs only. Red LED silver bullets come standard with visor-less bezels, however visored bezels can be purchased separately. •Place the fender upright on a protected and secure surface. Insert the mounting blocks into place flush with the surface of the fender. They will only fit one way and are not interchangeable. Place a small amount of loc-tite on the threads of the hollow bolt. Hold the silver bullet LED light in place on the mounting block and thread the wire through the holes, and hand tighten the hollow bolt from the inside of the fender. Once a proper alignment of the lights has been achieved, tighten them securely with a 9/16ths box end wrench. Step 4 •Run the wiring of the turn signals in an appropriate/desireable path to the stock wiring harness. Once the wires are run, cut any excess wire and install the bullet connectors (included) to the end of the wires as noted in the wiring advisory and continue with wiring as follows: 1. Silver bullet right rear PURPLE to stock wire BLUE with RED stripe 2. Silver bullet right rear BLACK to stock wire BLACK 3. Silver bullet left rear PURPLE to stock wire BLUE 4. Silver bullet left rear BLACK to stock wire BLACK Make sure that the connectors are firmly snapped in place and are covered with the stock rubber connector. Ensure that the preexisting dielectric grease isn’t completely wiped off/removed, it will ensure conductivity and corrosion resistance. Please note that the amber LED silver bullets are dual intensity, while the stock system is single intensity (turn signal only). If you wish to wire your silver bullets to also function as running lights, the blue wire from each silver bullet must be wired to a “constant-on”/power wire, such as the stock purple wire that connects to the license plate assembly. If you do not wish to wire your turn signals for dual intensity then the blue wires should be tied off

Start by loosening the rear cylinder down tube bolt located on the top of the old mufflers center collector in front of the rear tire. 2. Remove both of the front cylinder exhaust pipe head nuts and set them to the side for reuse with the MAC exhaust system. 3. Remove the right side passenger’s foot peg. Set the foot peg aside as you will need to reinstall it. 4. Remove the left side passenger’s foot peg. Set this foot peg aside as it will also need to be reinstalled. Note: When you remove this bolt the entire exhaust system will be loose and may fall. You will need to support the old exhaust at this point to keep from injuring yourself. Gently move the old exhaust system side to side to remove it from the rear cylinder down tube. Once the exhaust system is loose from the down tube remove the system from under the Virago. 5. Remove the bolt holding the rear brake pedal in place and remove the brake pedal from the motorcycle. Note: Set both the bolt and the pedal aside for reinstallation. 6. Next loosen the nut on the drivers right foot peg, 1 full turn to start with. Then remove the rear nut on the same foot peg. (Note: The bolt that this nut is on goes completely through the motorcycle. This is the center stand mounting bolt.) Now remove the front nut and set both aside for reuse with the MAC system. 7. Install the center stand stop bracket under the left passenger foot peg. Install this bracket with the 90° bend facing down and towards the rear tire. (Note: Center stand sop bracket in provided in the hardware kit and is approx. 5″ long with a 90° bend in it.) Adjust the bracket by one of the large bolts through the foot peg then through the bracket and then install it into the stock location. Put on one of the washers and a nut and snug up the nut. Lower the center stand until the center stand come in to contact with the bottom of the bracket. Tighten the nut until it will hold the bracket securely. 8. Install the rear down tube clamp onto the rear muffler and install the medium sized nut/bolt/washer onto the clamp just finger tight. 9. Install the (2) small bolts into the channel bracket on the rear muffler. Install the rear mounting bracket onto the two bolts and then install the washers and nuts onto each. Tighten the (2) nuts only slight amount so that you can slide the bracket front to rear to insure that when you install the bracket you position it properly. 10. Slide the rear pipe onto the rear down tube about ¼”to ¾” past the pre-cut slots on the rear muffler pipe. Slightly snug the clamp making sure that the position of the bolt and nut will not interfere with any moving parts. The final position of this bolt can hit the tire if it is not positioned properly. 11. Install the other large bolt into the right passenger and then through the top hole in the rear muffler mounting bracket. Insert the bolt into the stock location and install the washer and the nut. 12. Align the rear muffler and you can then tighten the nuts on the rear muffler mounting bracket, the cylinder down tube and the right side passenger foot peg.
13. Install the front muffler on the rear most mounting bolt of the drivers foot peg and put the stock nut back onto the bolt. Hand tighten the bolt only at this time. Note: Install the nut at this time is only to support the muffler and to insure that the pipe does not fall on the ground while you complete the next step. 14. Lift the front head pipe into position and start the stock nuts onto the studs. It is strongly recommended that you install new exhaust gasket at this time. Note: The new exhaust gaskets are not included in the kit but are available at your local Yamaha Dealer. After gaskets are installed hand tighten the front head pipe. 15. Remove the nut from the drivers foot peg bolt and reinstall the drivers foot peg. Note: Hand tighten only at this time. 16. Finish tightening the nuts on the front head pipes. (Install these nuts according to Yamaha’s Factory specifications.) Once the nuts are tightened on the head pipe you can then tighten the drivers foot peg nuts. 17. Reinstall the rear brake pedal and tighten the bolt that holds it on to factory specifications. 18. Check all of the bolts that you have installed of removed to insure that they are tight. 19. Start the motorcycle and check for any leaks. 20. You are finished with your new MAC Exhaust System.

REMOVAL To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, disconnect negative (-) battery cable before proceeding. (00048a) 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable. INSTALLATION Installing the Turn Signal Stalk and Rear Docking Point 1. See Figure 3. Place the rear docking point (E) and recess cover (D) over the long threaded end of the new turn signal stalk (4) with the countersunk side of docking point facing outward. 2. Insert the turn signal stalk (4) through the rear mounting hole in the fender support and fender. Apply Loctite® 243 (blue) to the stalk and thread into fender mounting bracket. 3. Tighten the stalk to 12-18 ft-lb (16.3-24.4 Nm) . 4. Loosely install a jam nut (3) and a lockwasher (2) onto the short threaded end of the turn signal stalk (4). 5. Place the recess cover (1) into position over the recess on the turn signal housing. Insert the wires from the socket through the grommet into the turn signal housing, through the threaded hole and the recess cover, and into the turn signal stalk (4). NOTE Apply a drop of liquid soap to the wires to ease insertion through the stalk or use a thin wire to pull the wires through. 6. Route the wires through the turn signal stalk (4) until they are through the fender. 7. Install the turn signal housing onto the stud. Be careful that the wires are not twisted or damaged as the stalk and housing are assembled. The lockwasher will fit inside the hole in the recess cover. Hand-tighten the jam nut against the lockwasher. 8. While pulling the turn signal wires into the inside of the fender, guide the turn signal socket and grommet into the housing. 9. Align the rear turn signal housing so that when the lens is installed it is aimed rearward for proper visibility. While holding the turn signal housing in position, tighten the jam nut against the lockwasher to 8-10 ft-lb (10.8-13.6 Nm) . Connecting the Turn Signal Wires
