This t-tap plug is designed to work with Cycle Sounds audio systems. However it can be used to wire many add on 12 volt accessories to you Harley Davidson motorcycle. This plug is rated for 6-8 amps of power and should not be used for adding any product that is rated for more than the t-tap plug is rated for. Take the time to check the products power rating for which you want to install to make sure it is compatible with the t-taps amperage rating. Failure to do so couldlead to electrical failures, which could result in serious injuries or even death. it is possible to overload your motorcycles charging system by adding too many electrical accessories. U se amp meter to verify all power connections. Also check product power ratings for anything you are trying to install. Exceeding the maximum amperage can lead to electrical failures, which could result in serious injuries or even death. INSTRUCTIONS: Step 1: remove seat on bike and locate the wire harness under the seat that matches the plugs on the t-tap harness (2120-0026.) Location may vary between bike models. Step 2: unplug bike harness and snap each end of t-tap harness in correct plug opening. When finished connect power wires to the male plug.(all Cycle Sounds audio systems come pre wired with correct wire colors and terminals). When using this t-tap for any other 12 volt accessory, make sure the red and black wires are snapped into their proper pin connectors. Kit does not come with power terminals for the accessories device. See your local bike dealer for purchase of terminals

1 Place motorcycle on a stand so that the front wheel is off the ground. 2 Using a 27mm socket remove the front axle nut. Using a 10mm socket, loosen the four front axle pinch bolts. Slide front axle out of forks and remove front wheel. 3 Insert a long punch (with a good square edge) into the center of the aluminum wheel bearing spacers and push up against the inner edge of the spacer on the opposite side of the wheel (Fig. 1). Using a hammer, tap the punch around the entire circumference of the spacer until it completely slides out of the bearing (Fig. 2). Turn the wheel over and remove the other spacer in the same way. 4 Use a long screwdriver or narrow pry bar and pry the seals out of each side of the wheel (Fig. 3). 5 Using snap ring pliers, remove the bearing retaining snap ring from the brake rotor side of the wheel. (Fig. 4) NOTE: 2003 – CURRENT MODELS USING # 16-092 KIT DO NOT USE THIS SNAP RING. 6 Insert a long punch (with a good square edge) into the center of the wheel bearing, and push up against the inner edge of the bearing on the opposite side of the wheel. Using a hammer, tap the punch around the entire circumference of the bearing until it completely slides out of the hub. Turn the wheel over and remove the other bearing in the same way. NOTE: It may be necessary to tap on the punch sideways at first to knock the center aluminum sleeve off center so that you are able to get the punch on the edge of the bearing. 7 Clean areas where bearings will be inserted back into hub and apply a thin coat of grease around the machined hub surface. Tap the bearing on the snap ring (if used, either side if not) side of the hub into the machined hub surface, making sure to keep it square with the hub as it goes in and only tap on the outer race of the bearing. Once you get the bearing flush with the outer edge of the hub, use a socket or piece of pipe that is just smaller than the outside diameter of the bearing to finish tapping the bearing into the hub. (Fig. 5) 8 Install the bearing retainer snap ring (if used) into the groove machined in the hub, and then tap the seal in place over the snap ring with the spring on the seal in towards the center of the wheel. Tap in the aluminum spacer in the center of the seal.

The flasher is set to flash continuously as long as the brake is applied. To convert to a 5 second flash and then stay solid while the brake is applied, cut the green wire loop on the flasher. Use electrical tape to protect and secure the green wires to the other wires. 2. Remove the rider’s seat. Locate the wire bundle that starts at the rear of the motorcycle. At the most accessible spot carefully remove 3″ to 3½” of protective wire loom. I know, I know…it’s really beautifully done. Cowboy up! Take it off! 3. Mount the flasher in a location that will not crimp wires or interfere with the other bike assemblies. Locate the +12 volt wire ( GRAY wire with BLACK stripe and YELLOW banding) from the brake light Attach the kit RED wire to the brake light positive wire using one of the Posi-Tap connectors in the kit. 4. Locate the Ground wire ( BROWN wire) from the brake light. Attach the kit BLACK wire to the motorcycle ground wire using a Posi-Tap connector. 5. If you have a Fuse Block with ignition switched relay installed, route the Hyper-Lite GRAY wire to a fused circuit on the (relay activated) fuse block . 6. If you do not have a Fuse Block installed, find the alarm circuit connector under the seat . The alarm circuit has a rectangular connector and five wires, White with Black stripe; White with Brown stripe; Red with White; Brown with White; and Green with White stripe. Use a Posi-Tap to attach the Hyper-Lite GRAY wire to the green wire with white stripe. Pull the wire loom back from the wire. Tap into the wire with the Posi-Tap provided. . 7. If using the Hyper-Lite License Plate Mounting bracket, install it now. OR: Clean the side facing reflectors at the rear of the bike with alcohol. Mount the LED modules vertically on the reflectors so that the LEDs point straight back. Press in place for about 5 seconds. The tape can be used only once! If you goof, new tape is required. 8. Route the BLUE and BROWN wires from the flasher and the LED modules. Trim the Blue and Brown wires to remove any excess wire . Use a Posi-Twist to connect the 3 BLUE wires together. Use a Posi-Twist to connect the 3 BROWN wires together. (see Posi-Twist Connector instructions)

Installation SOLO SADDLE ONLY 1. Remove stock seat and grabstrap according to applicable Service Manual instructions. 2. Road King standard models . Remove and save the stock screws and seat mount bracket at the back of the rider solo seat. 2000 and later models . Remove the retainer washer from the stud plate and replace with two black retainer washers (2). Be careful not to allow stud plate to fall through the fender. 3. Road King standard models . Install stock solo seat mount bracket using two stock screws saved in Step 2. Road King Classic Custom models . Install solo seat mount bracket onto back of solo seat using bracket and screws included in Mount Kit Number 52903-01. 4. Install seat by sliding front of seat into seat holder bracket. Pull up on the nose of the seat to verify that the seat is securely installed. After installing seat, pull upward on front of seat to be sure it is in locked position. While riding, a loose seat can shift causing loss of control, which could result in death or serious injury. (00070a) 5. 1999 and later models . Install 1/4 in. star washers (6), spacers (4) and acorn nuts (3) onto rear mount studs. Torque to 72 in-lbs (8.13 Nm). 1998 and earlier models . Install 5/16 in. star washers (5) and 5/16-18 x 3/4 in. buttonhead screws (1) into stock mount nuts. Torque to 17 ft-lbs (23 Nm). SOLOAND PILLION 1. Remove stock seat and grabstrap according to applicable Service Manual instructions. Retain all hardware for later use. 2. Road King standard models . Remove and save the stock screws and seat mount bracket at the back of the rider seat. 3. Road King standard models. Install stock seat mount bracket onto new solo seat using two screws saved in Step 2. Road King Classic Custom models. Install solo seat mount bracket onto back of solo seat using bracket and screws included in Mount Kit Number 52903-01. 4. 1999 and later Road King standard models . Secure the rear mount bracket with stock mushroom nuts (10) and two 1/4 in. star washers (6). Torque to 72 in-lbs (8.13 Nm). 1998 and earlier Road King standard models . Install solo seat by sliding front of seat into holder bracket on bike. Secure the rear mount bracket with the two mushroom screws (11) and two 5/16 in. star washers (5). Torque to 17 ft-lbs (23 Nm). Road King Classic Custom models . Mount Kit Number 52903-01 is required for installation. Install solo seat (7) by sliding front of seat into holder bracket on bike. • 1999 and later models . Using Mount Kit Number 52903-01, secure the rear mount bracket with the two mushroom nuts (10) and two 1/4 in. star washers (6). Torque to 72 in-lbs (8.13 Nm). • 1998 and earlier models . Using Mount Kit Number 52903-01, secure the rear mount bracket with the two mushroom screws (11) and two 5/16 in. star washers (5). Torque to 17 ft-lbs (23 Nm)

SERIAL NUMBER LOCATIONS » OPERATION INSTRUMENTS » Chassis number The chassis number is stamped on the right side of the steering head tube. Enter this number in the field on page no 1. Engine number The engine number is stamped into the engine housing underneath the carburetor. Enter this number in the field on page no 1. Clutch lever The clutch lever [1] is located on the left side of the handlebar. The adjusting screw [A] is used to change the original position of the clutch lever (see maintenance work on chassis and engine). The clutch is hydraulically actuated and adjusts itself automatically. Hand brake lever The hand brake lever [2] is mounted on the handle bars on the right and actuates the front wheel brake. The adjusting screw [B] can be used to change the basic position of the hand brake lever (see maintenance work on chassis and engine). 1 A 2 B
ENGLISH 7 OPERATION INSTRUMENTS » Short circuit button The short circuit button [1] turns off the engine. When pressing this button, the ignition circuit is short-circuited. Filler cap To open it: turn filler cap counter-clockwise. To close it: put filler cap back on and tighten it by turning it clockwise. Install tank breather hose [2] without kinks. Fuel tap The fuel tap [3] is located on the left side of the tank. Opening the fuel tap: Turn the knob all the way to the left. Closing the fuel tap: Turn the knob all the way to the right. Choke The choke button [4] is located on the left side of the carburetor. Pulling the choke button all the way out opens a bore in the carburetor through which the engine can take in additional fuel, thus achieving the „rich” fuel air mixture needed for cold starting. Pushing the choke button back in closes the bore in the carburetor. Shift lever The shift lever is mounted on the left side of the engine. The position of the gears is shown in the illustration. Place motorcycle in a secure upright position 2) Remove saddle bags (if applicable) 3) Remove rear fender mounting bolts (3 each side) 4) Tap indicated rear fender mounting holes with a 3/8″ – 16 tap. (2 holes each side) It is highly recommended that cutting/tap oil is used. Use care when tapping holes. Be certain to tap holes completely through. 5) Ensure 2 large attachment bolts are tight. 6) Attach Bracket C (left) and Bracket D (right) to rear fender rail. Use new bolts provided on outer tapped holes (2) and one of the longer original bolts for center hole. Place one washer between brackets C & D and rear fender rail on each bolt. (3 each side) Place washer and thin nut on inside of rear fender on new bolts (2 each side) These replace original fender washers. It may be necessary to reattach saddle bag attachment hardware when attaching brackets C and D. All saddle bag hardware should be attached to the OUTSIDE of brackets C and D. 7) Attach front of Bracket A (left) and B (right) to existing hole in motorcycle frame just above swing arm pivot. 8) Attach rear of bracket A (left) B (right) to TOP of forward hitch arms. Snug bracket A and B attachment bolts at this time. 10) Attach top of Bracket E (left) and F (right) to outside of lower tabs on bracket C & D. 11) Attach bottom of brackets E and F to top of rear hitch plate. 12) Tighten bolts at this time. 1 Remove the seat. 2 Lift up the front of the fuel tank. 3 Disconnect the wiring harness from the injector on the left hand side of the bike by sqeez- ing the connector. 4 Connect one pair of the leads from the PCIII in-line of the stock harness and throttle body (Fig.A). 5 Repeat steps 3-4 for the right hand side (Fig.B). 6 Locate the throttle position sensor on the trottle bodies. Locate the yellow wire with the brown tracer coming from the sensor. Connect the supplied wire tap to this wire. 7 Plug the grey wire from the PCIII to the wire tap (Fig. C).
