Modify your factory light bar cover to fit on Yamaha brand driving/passing lights. Use a rotary tool to widen the fastening area of the lower backside clips on the cover. The total width between the clips should be 4 æ inches. Trim off º inch on both inside ends of the lower backside attachment clips. Trim the clips equally. The following picture shows a modified cover. Narrow the clips on both ends to fit over the welds on the bar. The cover will not attach to the bar if the width between the clips is too narrow. If the width is too wide the cover may slide sideways on the bar. Narrow both clips equally to center the cover over the welds on the lower edge of the bar. The top of the cover is modified to allow the cover to fit over the bolts on the light bar. The top edge of the cover is filed æ inch deep and 5/8 inch wide to fit over the bolts. The back top edge is filed or ground 1/8 inch to fit over the light bar fastening bracket. Use care when filing chrome covered plastic. The following picture will help to complete this step in the modification. Modify your factory light bar cover to fit on Yamaha brand driving/passing lights. The ends of the cover are modified to allow the cover to fit over the upward curved light bar. The upper openings on the ends of the cover that fit over the bar must be filed to enlarge the area. Grinding the cover ends will allow the cover to fit and clip onto the bar. The end openings are filed or ground at an angle to match the slope of the bar. This picture shows the outer end of the cover. The ends of this cover have been modified by enlarging the area on the upper edges to fit over the upward curving light bar. The ends must be enlarged 1/8 inch on the top edge. The cover edge can be slanted upward to match the curved bar. Modify the cover ends until it fits without the outer chrome cover touching the bar. Modify your factory light bar cover to fit on Yamaha brand driving/passing lights. Sometimes the modified light bar cover may touch the bottom of the headlight. Modify the cover, or adjust the bar or headlight if you notice the headlight touching the bar cover. This modification makes the V-Star motorcycle with Yamaha driving lights look better. The light bar bolts are covered and the chrome cover improves the appearance of the front of your bike. Other V-Star riders will notice how nice the front of your bike looks with the chrome light bar cover installed

One of the most significant changes is the use of shorter intake valve guides for 2006. Measuring 27.5 mm, these new guides are 5 mm shorter than the 2005 model, and this 15% reduction in length increases engine efficiency by increasing intake air flow, and reducing frictional power losses. The only eligible models are designated as Euro 2 & Euro 3 New machines are supplied with race kits included through: IN Competition Unit 1 New Lane Burscough Lancs 2. DISPLACEMENT CAPACITY The displacement must remain at 124.9cc and the bore and stroke (54 x 54.5) must remain as originally produced. 3. MINIMUM WEIGHT The minimum weight at post race control must not be less than 102kg , this includes oil and water but excludes fuel. At any time during the event, the weight of the whole machine (including the tank) must not be less than the minimum weight, with a tolerance of 1kg. 4. NUMBER PLATE COLOURS The background colours and figures for Aprilia Superteens are: FRONT RED background with WHITE numbers – Nitro Newcomers Class BLACK background with WHITE numbers – Aprilia Championship Class REAR BLACK background with WHITE numbers – Both Classes Placed in accordance with the ACU regulations. 5. FUEL All machines must function on normal unleaded fuel with a maximum lead content of 0.005 g/l (unleaded) and a maximum MON of 90 (RON 102 max) and be readily available from roadside service stations nationwide. E85 Bio Fuel is also permitted when purchased from normal roadside outlets. 7. FRAME BODY AND REAR SUBFRAME Frame must remain as originally produced by the manufacturer and may not be painted. The sides of the frame body may be covered by a protective part made of composite material of the original frame colour. Nothing can be added by welding or removed by machining from the frame body. Engine mounting brackets or plates must remain as originally produced by the manufacturer. Bolt on accessories to the rear sub-frame may be removed. 8. FRONT FORKS Forks structure (spindle, stanchions, bridges, stem etc) must remain as originally produced by the manufacturer. Standard original internal parts of the forks may be modified. After market damper kits or valves may be installed. The fork caps can be modified or changed to add spring preload/compression and damping adjusters. Dust seals can be modified, changed or removed providing the fork remains totally oil sealed. Any quantity or quality of oil can be used in the front forks. Section 4: Installation on Motorcycle 4.1 Remove old system. 4.2 Install the ignition coil (135.3705.000) and ignition module base (135.3734.000) with wires positioned toward coil (lightly tighten ignition base screws) . 4.3 Install rotor on the camshaft; note washer positions (see installation figure for specifics) . 4.4 – Position engine at timing position (mark on Dnepr flywheel “P” or see your motorcycle operation manual for specifics however there is mention of “arrow with dot” – Ural? ) . – Position base so the scribed line on the rotor lines up with the center index on the base (index between +10 and -10 marks) . Tighten screws. – Loosen sensor screws and using a feeler gauge, adjust so the rotor and sensor gap equals 0.35 +/- 0.05 mm (note, other manuals mention 0.2 +/- 0.1 mm) . Tighten screws. – If the scribed line is not visible with the engine positioned for timing, rotate the engine 360 degrees (again at the timing position) . 4.5 Connect the wires (КЗ) and (+) from ignition module to the coil. Connect the high voltage leads to the coil.
