Main Switches On Position: • Electrical circuits are switched on. The engine can be started and the key can not be removed. • Do not leave the main switch in the on position for an extended period of time if the engine is not running Off Position: • All electrical circuits are off and the engine is stopped. The key can be removed in this position. Steering Lock Position: • Turn the handlebars to the left as far as they will turn, turn the key to the lock position and remove. Battery • This scooter uses a sealed lead acid battery, it is unnecessary to check or add liquid. NOTE: Never open the electrolyte of a sealed battery. Remove the battery from the scooter and store separately in a well ventilated area when the scooter is not in operation for long periods of time Speedometer • Speed is measured in mph. Odometer • The total riding distance is indicated. Fuel gauge • The gauge indicates how much fuel is in the tank (the gauge does not work when the ignition switch is off). The needle moves from full “F” to empty “E” as your fuel decreases. Fill the tank with a good grade of 89-90 octane unleaded gasoline. High Beam Indicator LIght • The high beam light indicates that the high beam headlight is in use. NOTE: Apply the low beam to avoid obstructing the view of other drivers. Turn Signal Indication Light • The turn signals indicate that you are turning a chosen direction, push the button in the desired turning direction, it will return to the center, press the button in to turn off. Proper speed is determined by terrain, visibility, operating condition and experience. • Never attempt wheelies, jumps or other stunts. • Always inspect your scooter prior to each use to make sure all bolts are tight, and is in safe operating condition.

SPARES 1. Use only original Yamaha/MBK spares for all changes. Use the oils and /or greases recommended by Yamaha/MBK for assembly and adjustments. Other makes may have the same function and appearance but nevertheless be of lower quality. GASKETS, OIL SEALS AND O RINGS 1. When an engine is dismantled, all the gaskets, oil seals and O rings must be replaced. All the surfaces of all the gaskets and the lips of oil seals and O rings must also be cleaned. 2. When assembling, properly lubricate all bearings and matching parts. Apply grease to the lips of oil seals. WASHERS AND LOCKING TABS AND SPLIT PINS 1. All washers/locking tabs (1) and split pins have to be replaced and when locking tabs are removed and replaced they must be folded over the sides of the bolts or nuts, after these have been properly tightened. BEARINGS AND OIL SEALS 1. Install the bearings and oil seals with the makes or manufacturer numbers facing outwards. (This means that the printed letters should be visible). When installing oil seals, apply a thin layer of light lithium grease to the lips. Put plenty of oil on bearings when installing these. 7. Crankcase remover tool Ref. 90890-11030 This tool is used for dismantling the crankshaft or removing the crankcase. 8. Tools for installing the crankshaft. Ref. 90890-01284 These tools are used for installing the cranks- haft. 9. Crankcase installer (Magnetic flywheel side) Ref. 90890-11032 10. Seal installer (Selector axle) Ref. 90890-11033 11. Time and Ease: Easy­ Under 30 Minutes Tools/Supplies: Ratchet w/sockets or wrenches, oil, oil pan, oil filter, rags, funnel Step 1: Put scooter on center stand and allow the engine to cool. Step 2: Unscrew and extract the cap­dipstick (1) . Step 3: Unscrew and remove the engine oil filter (3) . Step 4: Unscrew and remove the oil drain plug (4) . Allow the oil to drain completely. Step 5: Install a new oil filter (3) , being careful to lubricate the O­ring on the filter with oil. Step 6: Tighten the engine oil drain plug (4) . Step 7: Fill through the filling hole (2) with approximately 1.7 L of 5W­40 Synthetic or other that exceeds API ST Specifications. Step 8: Tighten the oil level dipstick (1) . Step 9: Start the engine and let run for a few minutes, Shut it off and let it cool. Check the engine oil level again using the dipstick (1) , and top it off if necessary, without ever exceeding the “MAX” level.
