See Figure 1. Place a 5/32-inch (4 mm) thick insert between the brake lever and the lever bracket. 5. Refer to the service manual, and follow the instructions to loosen the brake hand lever/master cylinder assembly and remove the right-side upper and lower switch housing sub-assemblies from the handlebar. It is not necessary to remove the throttle control grip. For FLHR models: Refer to the service manual. Disconnect the left-side handlebar MOLEX socket housing from the gray eight-way main harness pin housing [24B] inside the headlamp nacelle. Refer to the service manual to remove the clutch hand lever and left-side upper and lower switch housing subassemblies from the handlebar. 6. For ALL models: See Figure 2. The friction shoe (1) is a loose fit on the end of the tension adjuster screw (2). Make sure the shoe has been removed with the switch housing sub-assemblies, and is not lodged in the groove of the throttle control grip (4). 3 4 1 2 is06318 1. Friction shoe 2. Verify that the 5/32-inch (4 mm) thick insert is in place between the brake lever and the lever bracket. Obtain the new right-side handlebar switch housing assembly (Item 4 or 5, depending on model) from the kit. Separate the upper and lower halves of the housing assembly. Refer to the service manual, and follow the instructions to install the switch housing assembly and brake hand lever/master cylinder assembly to the handlebar. 8. Route the right-side switch harness along the same path as the original harness (along the right handlebar). Connect the pin housing to the black socket housing disconnected in Step 3. 9. For FLHT, FLHTC, FLHX, FLHXXX and FLTRX models: Continue at Step 11. For FLHR models: Obtain the new left-side switch housing assembly (6) from the kit. Separate the upper and lower halves of the switch housing assembly. Refer to the service manual, and follow the instructions to install the left-side switch housing assembly and clutch hand lever assembly to the handlebar. 10. Route the left-side hand control harness along the same path as the original harness (along the left handlebar). Connect the pin housing to the gray socket housing disconnected in Step 5

1. Refer to the appropriate Service Manual and remove seat. To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, disconnect negative (-) battery cable before proceeding. Manual tensioner 5. Screw (2) Figure 1. Manual Tensioner: 1985-2000 Models 4. For 1985-2000 model motorcycles, remove manual tensioner and replace the carriage bolt as follows: a. See Figure 1. Remove two screws (5) and nut and washer (3), and remove chain tensioner (4). b. Remove two screws (1) and anchor plate (2). c. Replace the carriage bolt in the anchor plate with the carriage bolt from the kit. d. Apply 2-3 drops of Loctite 262 (red) to the threads of the anchor plate mounting screws (1), then install anchor plate and two screws. Tighten screws to 12- 14 ft-lbs (16-19 Nm) . For 2001 and later model motorcycles, remove manual tensioner as follows: a. See Figure 2. Remove nut and washer (1) and remove chain tensioner (2) Removing the Autotensioner for Service 1. Use a tie wrap and secure the shoe to the base of the autotensioner, without securing it to the autotensioner bracket. This will retain the autotensioner adjustment for reinstallation during service. 2. Remove two autotensioner hex screws, and autotensioner. Resetting the Autotensioner 1. See Figure 5. Compress autotensioner wedge (1) and spring back to the base. 2. Hold wedge in position by inserting a hex wrench or pick tool through the hole in the base of the autotensioner. 3. See Figure 6. Move plastic autotensioner shoe (1) into place as shown. 4. If available, install shipping plate (2) to secure the shoe to the base. If it is not available, secure the shoe to the base with a tie wrap

3 Figure B General Operating Instructions (Figure B)  Open the shoe carriage mechanism by placing your foot on the right or left cocking lever. This cocking movement is similar to kick-starting a motorcycle as the movement is down and back in an arc. This takes a good heavy push with your foot. Once cocked, the shoe is now open and flat on the WHEELDOCK floor and will remain open until you pull your bike into the WHEELDOCK and depress the Trip Lever. NOTE: Always keep one hand on the bike to keep it from rolling back when the carriage is opened. We recommend leaving the bike in first gear so it cannot roll backwards when the shoe carriage is opened.  When you ride into the WHEELDOCK, pull up to the forward stop and press the Trip Lever with your foot. This releases the air spring and clamps the wheel. TIP: Be sure to leave your motorcycle in first gear.  At this point, your motorcycle is secure against tipping and you can safely get off the bike.  Follow the strapping instructions below before hauling your bike.

Fluctuations in bottle temperature greatly affect nitrous pressure, which affects nitrous delivery. By automatically adjusting the fuel delivery as nitrous pressure varies, this manifold makes nitrous safe, reliable, and easy to use. Be sure to understand and follow the tuning instructions at the end of these instructions. Proper tuning is an important part of any performance-enhancing product. Part I – Bottle Installation A. Bottle Valve Fittings Insert the 4AN x 1/8″ NPT fitting and the 1/8″ NPT Plug into the bottle valve (these are attached to the lid of the box for the bottle) . Use Teflon tape to seal the threads – be sure not to get tape inside the threads! B. Bottle Mounting Position With nitrous in the bottle, both nitrous liquid and nitrous gas are present under high pressure (760 psi at 70 deg F) . Due to gravity and acceleration forces, the liquid portion of the nitrous will be at the bottom and rearward parts of the bottle. For this nitrous system to work properly, it is important that nitrous liquid be drawn from the bottle. Nitrous vapor will cause a significant decrease in performance. 1. Place the faulty radio in the same box in which the exchange radio was sent. THE FAULTY RADIO (CORE) MUST BE RETURNED IN THE SAME BOX IN WHICH THE EXCHANGE RADIO WAS SHIPPED. These boxes are identified by the label shown below which is printed on the inside of the lid. 2. Fill out the pre-printed FedEx airbill that came in the box with the exchange radio. The airbill should have the following address preprinted on it: AHM Remanufactured Parts c/o NK Parts Industries Inc./West 2640 Campbell Rd. Sidney, OH 45365-8836 • Do not use an ordinary FedEx airbill. The pre- addressed airbill has a special account number on it for the exchange program. If you need more airbills, call the Radio Order Desk toll free, not your assigned Parts Center . • Write your dealer number and the warranty claim number in the area shown in the sample airbill ffix the FedEx Airbill to the outside of the box. Radios sent in a box not bearing the correct FedEx airbill will not be accepted for reimbursement under this program. 4. Enclose a copy of the HONDANET for Windows warranty claim in the box. If the claim form is incomplete or not in the box, the faulty radio will be returned to your dealership. 5. Ship the faulty radio to the preprinted address on the airbill. NOTE: Do not ship the faulty radio to the manufacturer or the Warranty Parts Inspection (WPI) Center. 6. If you took receipt of your Cobra CM50 prior to April 22, 2004 the valving in the rear shock is incorrect causing excessive bottoming and bouncing of the rear end. The serial number of the shocks needing corrected is CO4940. Owners of 2004 model CM50s are being asked to send the shock to Öhlins USA, Inc. , at no charge, to receive the production intent valving. Please follow these steps when sending your shock with spring to Öhlins. 1. Remove the spring a. Clean the unit of dirt. b. Secure the end bushings in place with safety wire or ‘zip’ tie. c. Include your name and return address (indicate whether residential or business address)
