trailer with which to haul your machine(s). The steady stream of four-wheelers trailering two- wheelers to Daytona Bike Week proves that, for a considerable number of us, Mother Nature’s elements are sometimes best enjoyed upon reaching our destination, rather than experienced while traveling toward it. Travel aside, motorcycle trailers are handy, even indispensable, for getting asickly motorcycle to the shop, or to avoid committing the better part of a day waiting while the dealer installs new tires and brake pads. Finally, we find atrailer is preferable to a pickup truck for motorcycle transport, especially when singlehandedly loading/unloading. The problem for many of us is where do we find the space to park this little- used device? No matter if it’s a flatbe Rod Haskins, owner of metal bender Maintenance &Fab in Richmond, California, isn’t a rider himself, but his research indicated a market existed for a sturdily built, full-sized motorcycle trailer that folded compactly when not in use. Learning of a dormant but clever design developed by an agricultural trailer company, Haskins struck a deal, made several improvements and the Stinger Trailer was born. Werecently spent some time with a Stinger and found it to be a clever product. The Stinger arrived folded and secured to a wooden pallet. Assembly was simple, and within 20 minutes we had the 180- pound trailer ready to tow. The trailer is not towable in the folded position—that’s for storage only. Aone-car garage, home to our full-sized Chevrolet, couldn’tnormally house a motorcycle trailer, too. But the folded Stinger squeezed in nicely

1. Big Piston Fork (BPF) and Öhlins Steering Damper Throwing out the anchors at track speed demands a fork that remains composed under pressure. The fully adjustable new Big Piston Fork (BPF) does just that by significantly reducing damping pressure while maintaining consistent damping force. The standard Öhlins Steering Damper is likewise adjustable to help you dial in the steering damping level you need. 2. Horizontal Back-Link Rear Suspension New rear suspension positions the shock and its linkage above the swingarm, leaving room beneath the bike for a larger exhaust pre-chamber. The move helps centralize mass for better transitional cornering response, while also improving overall suspension action and road holding. The piggyback-reservoir shock is fully adjustable, including both low- and high-speed compression-damping circuits. 3. Adjustable Footpegs Adapting the ZX-10R for a day at the track or a long street ride is easy, thanks to its new adjustable footpegs. Raise the footpegs to improve your cornering clearance on the track, or lower them for a more relaxed riding position on the street or highway. The total range of adjustment is 15mm. 1. 2. 3. can fix it – let us help. The color combo that would have been featured here, had we not got rained on. As light as the morning precipitation was, a rainsuit seemed silly, and surely jeans and a leather jacket would be enough. However, at the crest of the peninsula, El Nino let his wrath be felt. A full-on downpour of Florida- like proportions dropped from the sky, without the benefit of gulf-stream warmth. Suddenly, wearing geeky-looking Gore-Tex seemed like a very good idea. Riding through six inch deep floodwaters at about 15 mph, the Aero kept a very even keel. The floorboards (first ever on a Honda) kept the feet drier than they would have been otherwise. After a brief stop at a military museum, we headed back to Honda’s HQ for a van ride to lunch at Hollywood’s House of Blues. Detail 101: Witness the huge chrome headlight/speedo assembly, with matching idiot lights set into the triple clamp. We couldn’t form much of a riding impression from our rain-soaked 30 mile jaunt, but we liked what we found. If you’re a big fan of the ACE 750, you’ll be a big fan of the Aero. Although the styling is not ground-breaking, it isn’t a carbon copy of you-know-who (hint: They’re based out of Milwaukee). The detail on the Aero is beautiful, with tasteful chrome accents and well-finished pieces. We hope to get the big 1100 back for a full test against Suzuki’s new Intruder 1500LC, Harley’s new Road King Classic, and all the other cruiser big boys some time this spring, after El Nino goes away … Manufacturer: Honda Model: 1998 Shadow Aero Price (two-tone): $9,995.00 Engine: liquid-cooled 45 degree V-twin, single crank pin Bore and Stroke: 87.5 x 91.4mm Displacement: 1099cc Carburetion: Two 36mm CV Transmission: 5 speed Wheelbase: 66.1 in Seat Height: 28.5 in Fuel Capacity: 4.2 gal with .8 gal reserve Claimed Dry Weight: 623 lbs

Compression damping of shock absorber (MXC, EXC) The compression damping (during compression) can be adjusted for the MXC and EXC shock absorbers (Mono Compression Control). The degree of damping can be adjusted by turning adjusting screw 1 with a screwdriver. Turning in a clockwise direction will increase the damping, turning in a counterclockwise direction will decrease the damping. The engine and transmission assembly also acts as swing arm. Suspension is provided by two rear shock absorbers. Spring preload is adjustable for maximum efficiency under all load and road conditions. Rear wheel travel is 80 mm , more than enough to smooth out even the roughest surfaces. The SPORTCITY 250 i.e. is equipped with 15 inch wheels and large, high profile tubeless tyres (120/70 at the front and 130/80 at the rear). Rolling diameter is therefore equivalent to that of a 16 inch tyre but the ability to absorb shocks from rough road surfaces is far better, ensuring a superbly smooth ride. In conjunction with the excellent frame, this intelligent choice of tyres gives the SPORTCITY 250 i.e. excellent stability and the sort of intuitive feel that makes it a piece of cake to ride even for novices . The brakes are another of the strong points of the SPORTCITY 250 i.e. . The new system features triple discs for far shorter stopping distances and far greater active safety. Even inexperienced riders will have no trouble in pulling up well ahead of trouble. At 90 km/h the SPORTCITY 250 i.e. takes just 2.7 seconds to come to a full stop . The front brakes feature two 260 mm discs and floating calipers with two parallel pistons . The rear disc is a 220 mm unit with single piston caliper. Engine technology is another major plus point for the SPORTCITY 250 i.e. Its new electronic fuel injected engine is state of the art on the scooter scene . Powerful, flexible, and extremely low on emissions and consumption, this 250 cc single cylinder unit is perfect for the job in hand. Developing 22.5 HP at 8,000 rpm with 21 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm, the engine delivers standard-setting performance . It also enables the Sportcity to function as a fun to ride sports scooter not only in town centres but on fast urban ring roads too. And the SPORTCITY 250 i.e. respects the environment wherever it goes, being one of the few scooters to conform to Euro 3 emission control standards. Finally, miserly fuel consumption and a generous 9 litre tank give the SPORTCITY 250 i.e. great autonomy . Engine Horizontal, single cylinder, 4 stroke.
