Fluctuations in bottle temperature greatly affect nitrous pressure, which affects nitrous delivery. By automatically adjusting the fuel delivery as nitrous pressure varies, this manifold makes nitrous safe, reliable, and easy to use. Be sure to understand and follow the tuning instructions at the end of these instructions. Proper tuning is an important part of any performance-enhancing product. Part I – Bottle Installation A. Bottle Valve Fittings Insert the 4AN x 1/8″ NPT fitting and the 1/8″ NPT Plug into the bottle valve (these are attached to the lid of the box for the bottle) . Use Teflon tape to seal the threads – be sure not to get tape inside the threads! B. Bottle Mounting Position With nitrous in the bottle, both nitrous liquid and nitrous gas are present under high pressure (760 psi at 70 deg F) . Due to gravity and acceleration forces, the liquid portion of the nitrous will be at the bottom and rearward parts of the bottle. For this nitrous system to work properly, it is important that nitrous liquid be drawn from the bottle. Nitrous vapor will cause a significant decrease in performance. Install cylinder head a. Place a new cylinder head gasket on the engine block and install cylinder head. b. Apply a light coat of engine oil on the threads and washer face of the cylinder head bolts. c. Install the plate washer to the cylinder head bolt. d. Using a 12-point socket, install and uniformly tighten the (8) 12-point bolts in several passes, in the sequence shown in the illustration. Torque: 33 ft.lbs. (44 N-m, 450 kg-cm) e. Repeat for the other head. 2. Proceed with final tightening sequences: a. Mark the front side of the top of the bolt with a drop of paint as shown in the illustration

To reduce front spindle bushing noise which may be experienced during severe cold ambient temperatures, a new needle roller bearing and thrust bushing have been made available for use in place of the original bushing. Note: This repair is applicable only to 4X4 vehicles produced after 8/89. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: 1. Remove front axle bushings (refer to applicable service manual section). 2. Install needle roller bearing using SST #09620-30010, tool #5 or equivalent bearing driver. Reference: Bearing must be installed with flat side (I.D. number and part number) facing outward. Refer to illustration.

Toyota trucks including Tacoma, T100 and Tundra with rear drum brakes use a bellcrank apparatus through the brake backing plate as part of the parking brake system. These bellcranks, made of aluminum and steel are known for seizing up. The photo below (fig.1) shows the tell tale sign of a seized bellcrank, this one being on the right side. The sagging cable that runs across the differential is a warning. If you notice this you need to check the action of the bellcranks before using the parking brake further. Using the parking brake with this condition can cause damage to the brake shoes and drum.
2 Removing Toyota Drums If you have never removed your drums, you will likely find that they are stuck in place. Rust tends to build up between the drum and hub flange making them difficult to remove.

Use fender seat and floor covers to keep the vehicle clean and prevent damage.2. During disassembly, keep parts in order to facilitate re- assembly. 3. Observe the following: (a) Before performing electrical work, disconnect the cable from the battery terminal. (b) If it is necessary to disconnect the battery for inspec- tion or , always disconnect the cable from the negative ( —) terminal which is grounded to the vehi- cle body. (c) To prevent damage to the battery terminal post, loosen the terminal nut and raise the cable straight up without twisting it or prying it. (d) Clean the battery terminal posts and cable terminals with a shop rag. Do not scrape them with a file or such.

(e) Install the cable terminal to the battery post with the nut loose, and tighten the nut after installation. Do not use a hammer or such to tap the terminal on- to the post. (f ) Be sure the cover for the positive ( + ) terminal is pro- perly in place. Check hose and wiring connectors to make sure that tir
are secure and correct

Bolt the Toyota box to the mounting bracket so that the long arm of the bracket points in the same direction as the steering column input shaft (small shaft.) To mount the bracket and box correctly, the longer end should be towards the rear of the vehicle. It may be necessary to grind on the power steering box where the two flanges protrude above the bracket. For technical help call Classic Performance Products Monday thru Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm at (714) 522-2000. Rev. 8/17/2009 3. Locate the box/bracket assembly into the frame by centering the Toyota sector shaft through the original hole in the frame. This hole will need to be elongated approximately 3/8″ to allow the sector shaft to clear the frame. Bolt the bracket directly into the mounting holes for the original steering box. 4. With the first bolt in, check the fit by reattaching the steering box. Make sure the splined shaft goes through the frame without interference. Torque down the mounting bolts to 45 lbs. 5. Attach the pitman arm to the steering box. Before this is done the steering sector must be centered. Turn the input shaft clockwise as far as it can go. Make a reference mark. Now turn the shaft counter clockwise as far it can go and be sure to count the turns. Turn the shaft back half the distance and now the box is centered. Be sure to double and triple check this procedure. Attach the pitman arm to the output shaft with the output shaft nut. Torque the bolt down to 110ft/lbs. Position the motorcycle securely on its stand or a work stand. Cover the front fender and fuel tank with a cloth to avoid scratches from dropped tools. 1. PREPARATION 1. Insure that the motorcycle is on flat level ground. 2. It is recommended that the motorcycle sit for at least one hour prior to installation to allow the engine to cool. During installation tight all fasteners to hold. Wait until you check all clearances and operation of the brake and shift lever to firmly tighten and torque all fasteners. INSTALLATION Right Side Highway Bar 1. Remove the front floor board bolt (M10). (14mm Socket) Figure 1. Right and Left side of Motorcycle is determined while sitting on the bike.
MAINTENANCE / CAUTION The high quality chrome finish of your National Cycle Chrome Highway Bar can be maintained with any quality chrome cleaner and / or polish applied with a soft cloth. Check hardware for tightness regularly. Never ride with loose mounting hardware. Check to be sure your Highway Bar does not contact any part of the motorcycle at a full turn left and right. Place “U” Bolt between the radiator and the down tube at the location shown in Figure 2. Threaded ends of “U” will face out- ward. 3. Select the right side Highway Bar. 4. Loosely install the Highway Bar at the lower mount point using the stock screw. (14mm Socket) Figure 3. While installing the Whizlock Nuts in the following Step #5 , be certain to tighten the nuts evenly, alternating left and right as you tighten. When complete you want the same amount of threads exposed on the ends of the “U” to insure the bolt does not rotate. 5. Install the upper Highway Bar with Whizlock Nuts. (1/2″ Socket) Figure 4. Orient assembly so Whizlock Nuts face outside. Firmly tighten after all clearances are checked. LEFT SIDE INSTALLATION 6. Repeat Steps 1 and 2. On the Left Side due to tight clearances between the radiator and the down tube you must locate the point where the radiator is “notched out” slightly. Figure 5. 7. Select the left side Highway Bar. 8. Repeat Steps 4 and 5.
