1) Place motorcycle on a firm level surface and secure in a upright position. 2) Remove saddle bags and saddle bag hardware (Tourer model only) Also remove rear riders pegs (Tourer model requires removal of rear footpeg offset hardware as well) 3) Attach bracket A (right) / B (left) to rear footpeg attachment point using new bolts provided. Remount footpegs/saddlebag hardware over top of brackets A/B. NOTE: Do not attach leveling stand bracket at this time 4) Attach bracket C(right) / D(left) to rear fender sub frame using new bolts provided. (Tourer model only – Saddle bag hardware mounts to the outside of brackets C/D. Brackets C/D mount between chrome side rail and saddlebag hardware.) NOTE: Brackets C/D have welded spacers which attach in toward rear fender 5) Attach top of Bracket E(right) / F(left) to rear of brackets C/D. Brackets E/F mount to the inside of brackets C/D. NOTE: Use ½ inch spacer between brackets E/F and C/D on Tourer model ONLY
6) Attach rear of brackets A/B to TOP of forward hitch arms. Attach bottom to brackets E/F to rear hitch plate. 7) Carefully tighten all bolts at this time ensuring hitch is square with motorcycle. Hitch Bracket Identification Leveling stand screw jack installation 1) Attach leveling stand brackets to brackets A and B 2) Thread right side screw jack into threaded hole on leveling stand bracket attached to bracket A sand adjust leveling jack bolt out. 3) Push motorcycle over from left side until right screw jack is touching floor. 4) Thread left side screw jack into threaded hole on leveling stand bracket attached to bracket B and adjust out until motorcycle will rest upright on both screw jacks. 5) Adjust screw jacks until motorcycle is level. 6) After InstaTrike is attached to or removed from receiver hitch, be sure to remove leveling stands and leveling stand brackets. CAUTION – Use screw jacks to hold motorcycle upright and level ONLY. Do not lift motorcycle with screw jacks. CAUTION – Use care when installing screw jacks. Be certain that motorcycle is always in a stable balanced position.
INSTALLATION OF THE TOW-PAC HITCH CART. 1. Place your motorcycle on a smooth flat surface, like a garage floor, and install leveling stands. Install right leveling stand first. Carefully raise motorcycle off of side stand and install left leveling stand. Caution – Use leveling stands to level motorcycle ONLY. Do not raise motorcycle with stands Caution – Be certain that motorcycle is always in a stable balanced position when installing leveling stands. 2. Assemble the axles, tires and wheels, and fenders onto the tow- pac hitch cart. 3. Carefully align the tow-pac hitch cart’s hitch mount with the receiver hitch on the motorcycle. Now push the hitch mount into the receiver hitch. (this might be a little difficult until you get use to doing it. Removing the paint from the hitch mount and applying a little grease will help.) 4. Place the hitch pin through the receiver hitch and hitch mount ( alignment plate ). Install and tighten the tension bolt

INSTALLATION 1. See Figure 1. Remove stock windshield. 2. Remove all hardware that secures mounting brackets to windshield. The nine screws must be removed with a T- 27 TORX® screwdriver. Save all hardware and brackets for installing new windshield. 3. Remove all old tape from brackets and apply new tape (1, 2) from kit onto brackets. Align holes in tape with holes in brackets. Do not exceed recommended torque when installing mounting screws. Damage to windshield can result. (00385a) 4. Install all brackets. Tighten all screws and acorn nuts to 48-60 in-lbs (5.4 to 6.8 Nm) . 5. Install windshield (3) on motorcycle CARE AND CLEANING Polycarbonate windscreens/windshields require proper attention and care to maintain. Failure to maintain polycarbonate properly can result in damage to the windscreen/windshield. (00483d) •Do not use benzene, paint thinner, gasoline or any other type of harsh cleaner on the windscreen/windshield. Doing so will damage the surface. •Do not clean Lexan® polycarbonate in hot sun or high temperature. •Powdered, abrasive or alkaline cleanser will damage the windscreen/windshield. •Never scrape the windshield with a razor blade or other sharp instruments, as permanent damage will result. •Sunlight reflections off of the inside curvature of a windscreen/windshield can, at certain times of the day, cause extreme heat build-up on motorcycle instruments. Exercise care in parking. Park facing the sun, place an opaque object over the instruments, or adjust the windscreen/windshield to avoid reflections. •Do not use benzene, paint thinner, gasoline or any other cleaning agents on the rubber bushings. Doing so will damage the bushing surfaces. Do not use harsh chemicals including rain sheeting products on Harley-Davidson windshields. They can cause dulling or hazing. If you want to use a windshield protectant on your windshield, try Harley Glaze Polish and Sealant (00231a) NOTES Covering the windshield with a clean, wet cloth for about 15 minutes before washing will make dried bug removal easier. Harley-Davidson Windshield Water Repellent Treatment Part Number 99841-01 is approved for use on Harley-Davidson Lexan windshields

Secure motorcycle in an upright stable position 2. Remove center stand. 3. Attach bracket A to center stand mount. 4. Remove saddle bags. 5. Insert longer bolts provided from inside saddle bag through bracket F (left)/ G (right) and attach to rear motorcycle sub frame. 6. Attach bracket D (left) / E (right) to TOP of forward MiniTrike attachment point. 7. Attach axles and wheels to MiniTrike frame and place in proper position and relation behind motorcycle. 8. Attach bottom of bracket H (left) / I (right) to rear MiniTrike frame attachment point and top of H/I to rear of brackets F/G. 9. Attach bracket B (left) / C (right) to BOTTOM of brackets D/E and TOP of attaching arm on bracket A. 10. Ensure MiniTrike is square with motorcycle and carefully tighten all bolts.

Compression ratio 7 to 1 Starting: By means of kick-starter, right hand side of scooter. Transmission: Directly from engine to rear wheel through clutch, cush drive and gear box. . Its adjustable twistgrip control is coupled with that of the clutch, on left hand side of handlebars (fig. 2). Clutch: Wet type; steel plates with cork inserts. Control by lever, on left hand side of handlebars, and adjustable cable. Ignition: By 6-pole flywheel magneto. Separated ignition coil with primary circuit fed by another coil inside the flywheel magneto. Lighting and horn: By flywheel magneto, with a. c. directly feeding head lamp (double filament bulb, 6 v, 25/25 w), and tail lamp, 6 v, 5w, when the switch is in position “2″. The town light (6 v, 3 w), tail lamp, STOP light and horn are fed by the 12 Ah battery, which is constantly re-charged through a metallic rectifier and impedance, when the key of the switch is in either position “0″ or “1″ (see Fig. 3). Frame: of special, thick steel sheet, pressed and spot welded, with streamlined monocoque type structure. Suspension: Front: stub axle and swinging hub with variable rate coil spring and double action hydraulic damper. Rear: swinging bracket for engine and wheel, with variable rate coil sprang and co-axial double action hydraulic damper.

VE SPA GTS 250 i. e. EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT To replace the exhaust manifold, order part number 872659 as spare part following standard proceedings. OPERATION PROCEDURE The above picture references the old exhaust flange and the replacement exhaust flange kit part number 872659. Replacement Old Page 5 of 16 With the complete exhaust system removed from the vehicle remove the lambda sensors. Refer to page 88 and 89 of your Vespa GTS workshop manual for exhaust removal. Loosen the 13 mm bolt to loosen the clamp. Bolt Remove lambda sensor Page 6 of 16 Remove the header pipe from the exhaust box. Remove the exhaust packing and clamp. Remove exhaust manifold Gasket Clamp Page 7 of 16 Once all packing is removed check and make sure all surfaces are clean. This will help the installation of the exhaust gasket. Install the new clamp supplied with the kit, but do not tighten down at this point. Fit the exhaust gasket onto the new manifold. Push the new exhaust gasket in with the manifold until fitted all the way down to the flange. Check surfaces. Manifold Gasket Clamp Flange Page 8 of 16 Replace the lambda sensor and tighten down to 40- 50 Nm (29.5 -36.8 ft lbs. ) .
