STEP 1 – BATTERY CONNECTION Locate the battery and disconnect the negative battery cable. Mount the module in the open area in front of the battery with 2-tie straps or velcro straps, directing the harness from the module towards the 6 o’clock position. STEP 2 – THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS): Remove the air cleaner assembly and unplug the TPS sensor connector at the TPS sensor. The harness includes (2) TPS connectors which should be routed under the gas tank into the factory wire loom to the TPS sensor. The TPS sensor is located on the left side of the throttle body. Plug the (2) TPS connectors from the module in between the TPS sensor and to the factory TPS connector. STEP 3 – O2 SENSOR: Systems equipped with factory O2 sensors Rear: Unplug the Rear O2 sensor connector from the factory harness, which is located at the Rear exhaust pipe. Route the module’s harness which includes (2) O2 sensor connectors and connect one connector to the Rear O2 sensor and connect the other connector to the main factory O2 sensor connector. Front: Unplug the Front O2 sensor connector from the factory harness, which is located at the Front exhaust pipe. Route the module’s harness which includes (2) O2 sensor connectors, and connect one connector to the Front O2 sensor and connect the other connector to the main factory O2 sensor connector. Systems not equipped with factory O2 sensors NOTE: Many aftermarket exhaust systems are now equipped with plugged O2 sensor bungs which can be removed to accept an aftermarket O2 sensor. Typically these bungs already have a thread size of 18 mm x 1.5 mm. Exhaust systems not equipped with O2 sensor bungs need to have the supplied 18 mm x 1.5 mm thread size bung welded to the exhaust pipe in order to install an O2 sensor. The O2 sensor bung should be installed 3 to 6 inches away from the rear cylinder exhaust port and in front of the exhaust torque tube pipe area. The module prefers to receive information from the O2 sensor from an area that is NOT contaminated from atmospheric air. This air may enter through the tail pipe of an unrestricted or un-baffled exhaust pipe. The bung should not be installed in the “5 to 7 o’clock” area. If mounted in this area the O2 sensor can be damaged. The moisture from the gases exiting from the rear cylinder exhaust port will harm the ceramic shell element of the O2 sensor.

Speed Sensor Installation: The microSpeed™ speedometer can be used with either +12V or +5V hall effect electronic sensors located in transmission. Sensor is not include. If your sensor operates on +5V DC wire speedometer to sensor and power as shown in Figure 2 below. Please note that color of wires from the sensor may vary, check sensor documentation for proper signal connections. For +12V sensor you will not need the Blue wire of the microSpeed™ speedometer. It may be cut short, but make sure that the end is properly protected so that it will not accidentally short to metal on the motorcycle. Use Figure 3 below for wiring a +12V sensor. H-D motorcycles 1999 and earlier used +12V sensors. H-D motorcycles 2000 and later use +5V sensors. Note: H-D OEM sensors require 20Kohm resistor(provided) between Sensor power and Sensor signal as shown. Procedure: 1. Locate wires and determine connection points. Cut wires and techflex to proper lengths. 2. Connect speedometer wires to proper signal wires as shown in diagrams, including 20K ohm resistor if using stock H-D sensor. Use either butt connectors provided or customer supplied connectors. 3. Use electrical tape or Heat Shrink tubing around sensor signal wire, sensor power, and resistor to protect resistor. 4. INSTALLATION Remove Original Equipment (OE) Heat Shields Avoid contact with exhaust system and wear protective clothing that completely covers legs while riding. Exhaust pipes and mufflers get very hot when engine is running and remain too hot to touch, even after engine is turned off. Failure to wear protective clothing could result in burns or other serious injury. (00009a) 1. Allow the motorcycle to cool. 2. Identify the position of the OE clamp screws securing the black heat shields to the exhaust pipes. NOTE The clamp screws are positioned on either side of the exhaust pipe for clearance. 3. See Figure 1. Open the heat shield clamps (1) and spread the bands to remove front and rear heat shields (2) from the exhausts. Retain the heat shield clamps Install Black Heat Shields 1. See Figure 2. Matching the OE position of the heat shield clamps, open the clamps bands and thread the bands through the brackets of the front (1) and rear (2) black heat shields. 2. Spread the band around the exhaust pipes and push the end of the bands to engage the clamp screws. Tighten to hold the heat shields in place. 3. Adjust the shields and heat shield clamps to access clamp screws and to avoid contact with other components. 4. Tighten the heat shield clamp screws

1. Attach mounting brackets 430-P on the left side and 431-P on the right side of the frame using two 3/8″ x 3/4″ fl ange head bolts on each one (supplied)(Figure 1). If equipped, plastic plugs must be removed. 2. Remove left foot peg and attach support bracket 428-P (Figure 1) using the stock bolt. Discard spacer if equipped. Do not tighten at this time. NOTE: On FLSTN models the passenger footpeg bracket should be removed. 3. Remove head pipes and heat shields from protective packaging. Place each heat shield on a non-abrasive surface such as a blanket or carpet. Using a felt tip pen, mark outside edge of each heat shield to show location of mounting clips that hose clamps will loop through (Figure 2). 4. Lay front head pipe, rear head pipe and muffl ers into their heat shields. 5. Install #20 hose clamps on heat shields and #28 on muffl er heat shields by feeding tail end of clamps into heat shield clips (Figure 2). Take note of clamp screw head direction (Figure 3). Screw heads must be accessible when system is installed on motorcycle for adjustment purposes. NOTE: Do not tighten at this time. 6. Install exhaust port fl anges and circlips from stock system onto head pipes (Figure 4). 7. Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of one of the oxygen sensors and install it into front head pipe. NOTE: Be careful not to get anti-seize on sensor tip, it may affect sensor function. Do not install rear sensor at this time. 8. Disconnect front mount on shift lever rod to allow installation of rear head pipe (Figure 7). 9. Using stock fl ange nuts, carefully install head pipes into exhaust ports. Assistance may be required. NOTE: Do not tighten at this time. 10. Remove ignition coil cover to have open access to install rear sensor. 11. Install rear sensor using same instructions as step 7. Feed connector for rear oxygen sensor through frame and under the oil tank. Plug the sensor into stock wiring connector. 12. Slide a #59 T-bolt clamp (supplied) onto slotted end of left pipe. Slide slotted end onto head pipe tail (Figure 5). Align pipe with bracket 428-P previously installed in step 2. Install a #60 T-bolt clamp (supplied) by removing the nut and feeding the tail end through bracket hole (Figures 1 and 5). NOTE: Orient the clamp so that you can

See a Harley-Davidson dealer.INSTALLATION 1. Remove the original equipment (OE) Turn Signal Module (TSM) or Body Control Module (BCM) following the instructions in the service manual. 2. Install the Bank Angle Sensor (BAS) on sidecar vehicles. 3. Install the new turn signal/security module (TSSM) (7), Hands Free Security Module (HFSM) (1) or BCM (9, 11) from this kit, following the instructions in the service manual. Configure the Trike or sidecar TSSM, HFSM or BCM to “Side Car Enabled” using Digital Technician. 4. Install the Hands Free Security Module (HFSM) Antenna and antenna mount (6) if necessary, using the service manual instructions. The sensors can be removed from the exhaust if you have a way to plug the hole. Unplugging the sensors does NOT cause an engine light but will cause a historic code in the ECM for non-active O2 sensor. This is not causing any issues with the running of the bike. FIG.D Follow these instructions when using the Auto tune kit – part #AT-100B 1 Remove the left hand side cover. 2 Place the Autotune modules in front of the battery as shown in Figure H. If using velcro make sure the velcro does not cover the designation of the unit on the back (AT #1 or AT#2). The modules are coded to the front and rear cylinders. FIG.E 3 Remove the rubber plug for the diagnostic connector. Plug the lead from the Autotune kit into the stock diagnostic connector (Fig. J).This connection is under the LH sidecover. DO NOT connect to the accessory connection in front of the battery. 4 Reinstall the sidecover. This kit does not fit models equipped with a hydraulic clutch, handlebar mounted gauges or the Road Tech® Radio. Additional Parts or Accessories Required Separate purchase of additional parts or accessories is required for proper installation of this Handlebar Kit on this model motorcycle. Please see the P&A retail catalog or the Parts and Accessories section of for a list of required parts or accessories for this model. For Australia, Brazil, England, Europe and Japan, two special screws (Part Number 2935A) will also be required. Tools and Supplies Required Loctite® 271 Threadlocker and Sealant – Red (H-D Part Number 99671-97) is required for the proper installation of this kit. Fresh, uncontaminated DOT 4 brake fluid from a sealed container will also be needed. Replace brake line gaskets. Re-using original gaskets can cause brake failure and loss of vehicle control, which could result in death or serious injury. INSTALLATION Preparation To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, disconnect battery cables (negative (-) cable first) before proceeding. If positive (+) cable should contact ground with negative (-) cable connected, the resulting sparks can cause a battery explosion, which could result in death or serious injury. (00049a) 1. Refer to the service manual and follow the instructions given to remove the seat and disconnect the battery cables, negative cable first. Retain all seat mounting hardware. Direct contact of D.O.T. 4 brake fluid with eyes can cause irritation. Avoid eye contact. In case of eye contact flush with large amounts of water and get medical attention. Swallowing large amounts of D.O.T. 4 brake fluid can cause digestive discomfort. If swallowed, obtain medical attention. Use in well ventilated area. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
