the power curve is increased evenly throughout the entire rpm range, with no unmanageable drop-outs, which indicates the correct tuning of the Akrapovic SLIP-ON system. The stock curve is especially improved right at the peak of the power band, where the system really shows its racing roots. TORQUE the stock torque curve is smoothed out and increased with the use of the Akrapovic SLIP-ON system. Unwanted fluctuations are greatly eliminated, making the motor more rider-friendly, and the torque range is extended. The Akrapovic SLIP-ON system guarantees weight savings, a full 7.50 kg in the case of the titanium link pipe version. Lighter weight means better handling in all maneuvers. Thus it is a very important factor in ensuring increased safety. The sound deserves special mention. The roar of the large big two-cylinder through the Akrapovic SLIP-ON system will turn a lot of heads and strengthen the reptilian image of the Cagiva.

Akrapovic Racing and Evolution systems are designed for racing-oriented riders who demand maximum performance from their motorcycle. Both systems feature exceptional production quality, hi-tech materials and of course increased engine performance. Their quality and reputation are further augmented by the use of the high-tech HYDRO- FORMING production process to form the header tubes. Beside performance you will also benefit from great weight savings, up to 7.85 kg if compared to stock system. The change will be also visual as our conical muffler perfectly fit the exterior line of the Ninja and add a clean racing image. Systems are not homologated and are developed only for race track use. PERFORMANCE Measurements of the Akrapovic EVOLUTION system on the KAWASAKI ZX-10R (without muffler insert): Power & Torque: the exhaust system modification with the EVOLUTION system results in a major boost in performance, delivering a massive 176.6 HP at 12400 rpm on back wheel. But the increased power isn’t available just at the top of the range; the system shows its quality already from 3000 rpm up through entire rpm range. Max. increased power between the Akrapovic and the stock system is 14.9 HP at 12400 rpm. Besides this, the torque is substantially higher in a lower rpm area at 3000 rpm and from middle to high rpm area. CONFIGURATION The Akrapovic RACING and EVOLUTION systems for the KAWASAKI ZX-10R are a 4-2-1 configuration, while the systems differ only in their selection of materials. The RACING system uses stainless steel, while the EVOLUTION system uses titanium. The systems are designed with two ‘Y’ conical link pipes, attached to muffler with sleeve joints, secured with silicon shielded springs. The system features conical header tubes formed by using hydroforming technology. The individual parts of the system are connected using free-floating joints secured with silicon-shielded tensioning springs. The conical muffler is HEXAGONAL shaped and is available with titanium outer sleeve. The muffler interior perforation and inlet cap are made entirely of titanium, while outlet cap is made of carbon-fiber. The muffler is secured to the bike with welded bracket.

1. Put the motorcycle on a side stand, we recommend a racing stand. Make sure, that surface is solid and flat. 2. Untighten the bolt on the metal clamp at the muffler – collector joint, unscrew the bolts from the muffler brackets, and remove the muffler (Figure 1, 2, 3, 4). For open slip-on only: for easier dismount of stock collector unscrew the bolt from the water cooler hanging bracket and slightly remove the cooler – do not disconnect the cooling system tubes! (Figure 7) , loosen the header tubes flanges (Figure 8) , untighten the bolts of the metal clamps A from stock collector – header tubes joint and then unscrew the bolt from the collector bracket (Figure 9, 10). Make sure not to damage the cooling fins of the cooler during this process. Figure 5 Figure 6

Remove the metal collar and the rubber dampers from the stock collector bracket (Figure 13). INSTALLATION OF THE AKRAPOVIC SLIP-ON EXHAUST SYSTEM: 1. Unsrew the bolts and remove the right foot peg. Assemble the additional Akrapovic metal bracket, reinstall the foot peg and tighten the bolts (Figure 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19)

REMOVAL OF STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM 1. put the motorcycle on a side stand, we recommend a racing stand 2. remove the lower cowling (complete) – unscrew all bolts and remove the plastic bushings (Figure 1, 2, 3, 4) 3. unscrew the bolt for the metal clamp on the link pipe (at the link pipe – collector joint) (Figure 5) 4. unscrew and remove the bolt for the muffler clamp (Figure 6) 5. remove the link pipe together with the muffler (link pipe and muffler are welded together). We recommend spraying the joint with a multi-purpose spray lubricant (WD-40 or equivalent) 6. if you are mounting the optional carbon-fiber muffler bracket, remove the stock muffler bracket 7. unscrew and remove the bolts on the lower radiator brackets and move the radiator out of the way – do not damage the radiator cooling fins (Figure 7, 8) 8. remove the bolts on the flanges (Figure 9) 9. remove the header tubes together with the flanges (Figure 10) INSTALLATION OF THE AKRAPOVIC RACING OR EVOLUTION SYSTEM installing the header tubes: 1. check the position of the radiator – be careful not to damage the fins 2. use the stock gaskets installed in the exhaust port, or place them on the Akrapovic sleeves 3. install the sleeves together with the flanges and tensioning springs – make sure they are correctly oriented and correctly installed, and that the holes for the springs line up with the holes on the tabs on the header tubes (Figure 11 & 12) 4. tighten the flanges 5. mount the header tubes, which come together with the collector (Figure 13) 6. attach the springs (Figure 14) 7. make sure the header tubes are not touching the engine, the radiator, tubes, electrical installations etc. installing the independent link pipe: 1. if installing the EVOLUTION model use ceramic anti-seizing grease 2. slide the link pipe (inlet side) onto the collector (Figure 15) 3. check the orientation of the link pipe – the holes for the springs must line up 4. attach the springs 5. make sure the link pipe is not touching the frame and other parts installing the muffler: 1. install the carbon-fiber muffler bracket, if applicable 2. position the muffler correctly and slide it onto the outlet side of the link pipe; if installing a titanium link pipe use ceramic anti-seizing grease
