INSTALLATION 1. Remove existing front wheel assembly. Save axle, axle nut, brake disc, and wheel spacers for kit installation. Refer to FRONT WHEEL in service manual. For FLSTC and FLSTN models: Discard moon-style hub cap. Do not re-use brake disc screws. Re-using disc screws can result in torque loss and damage to rotor and/or brake assembly. (00319b) 2. See Figure 1. Install valve stem assembly (D) on wheel. Refer to TIRES in service manual. 3. Assemble wheel installation kit components and brake disc(s) to wheel, using the appropriate service parts table. Refer to FRONT WHEEL in service manual. NOTES Install the primary bearing first with the WHEEL BEARING REMOVER/INSTALLER, following the service manual instructions. The machined grooves in the hub face indicate the primary bearing side. The front wheel should be installed so that the valve stem is on the right side of the motorcycle. 4. Install wheel assembly parts from the appropriate service parts table for your fitment and stock brake disc(s). Discard parts from the installation kit that are not required. Refer to FRONT WHEEL in service manual. 5. For FLSTC and FLSTN Models: Install wheel kit and right side wheel spacer provided in kit installation. All other models: Install wheel spacers previously removed. 6. Install front wheel (1), stock axle and stock axle nut. Refer to FRONT WHEEL in service manual. 7. For 2009-Later TLE/U Sidecars: Assemble the sidecar brake disc and hub cap (purchased separately) to the wheel. The brake disc is to be installed on the side of the wheel opposite the valve stem. Install wheel according to the sidecar service manual

INSTALLATION 1. 1988-1999 FLSTF Models: Remove rear muffler heat shield, loosen rear exhaust Torca clamp, then remove rear muffler from support following the instructions in the appropriate Service Manual. 2000 and Later Models: Remove exhaust system following the instructions in the appropriate Service Manual. NOTE In some cases, if bike has been previously serviced, the axle may have been removed and re-installed from the left side (with castle nut and cotter pin on the right). If this is the case, the axle must be removed and installed from the the right. If axle appears as original configuration (as in Figure 1), it is not necessary to loosen the rear axle nut or remove the cotter pin (or spring clip) from the rear castle nut. 2. All Models: See Figure 1. On the left side of the motorcycle, loosen the axle adjuster screw (1) and jamnut (2) just enough to be able to remove the jamnut. 3. 1988-1999 FLSTF Models Only: See Figure 2. On the right side (brake caliper side), use a T40 TORX drive to remove the two pin bolts from caliper. Remove caliper by gently rocking caliper back and forth to compress caliper piston, then carefully slide caliper off brake disc. Use cable strap or other suitable means to support caliper. 4. All Models: On the right side, loosen the axle adjuster screw and jamnut just enough to be able to remove the jamnut. 5. All Models: See Figure 3. On each side, place retainer clip (oriented as shown) and washer from kit over axle adjuster screw and replace jamnut. INSTALLATION Do not operate vehicle with brake disc lock in place. Operation with lock on disc will restrict movement of the wheel, which could result in death or serious injury. (00457b) NOTE Insert key all the way to the bottom of the cylinder. Turn key clockwise 180 degrees to the open position. DO NOT FORCE KEY! Key should turn freely. If key does not freely rotate, try turning key slightly left and right while inserting to align disks inside cylinder. Failure to insert key all the way to the bottom of cylinder could cause key to jam. For Models with Hydraulic Fork Front Ends 1. See Figure 1. Slide lock (1) over front brake disc as close to rearward edge of brake caliper (2) as possible. Push button completely down to lock. 3. For Kits 43934-07, 43942-07 and 43972-07: When installing wheel on 2008 and later Dyna models, install bearing shim from installation kit under the primary bearing. 3. Assemble wheel installation kit components, stock brake disc, and sprocket to wheel using the appropriate service parts table. Refer to REAR WHEEL in Service Manual. NOTES The valve stem side of the wheel and machined grooves in the hub face indicate the primary bearing side. Install the primary bearing first using appropriate service manual and WHEEL BEARING REMOVER/INSTALLER. 4. Install rear wheel (1), stock axle, and stock spacers to motorcycle. Refer to REAR WHEEL in service manual. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Chrome parts must be maintained regularly to keep their original shine and luster. 1. Clean heavily-soiled wheel surfaces using Harley-Davidson Wheel and Tire Cleaner, applied with Harley Wheel and Spoke Brush. 2. Thoroughly clean chrome with a good quality chrome cleaner, such as Harley Bright Chrome Cleaner. 3. After cleaning and polishing, seal the finish with a good quality sealer, such as Harley Glaze Polish and Sealant

Installation 1. For models equipped with air baffle: See Figure 1. Remove and discard the two hex screws (2) and flat washers (3) holding the baffle (1) to the fork stem and bracket assembly(4). Retain the baffle for later reassembly. For models not equipped with air baffle: Remove and discard the two plugs from the rear of the fork stem and bracket assembly (4). 2. Remove and discard the hex socket head screw (6) holding the brake line manifold (5) to the underside of the fork stem and bracket assembly. 3. Place the lower fork bracket cover into position covering the brake line manifold. Attach the cover (and the baffle, if so equipped) to the fork stem and bracket assembly with the two 1/4″ self-tapping hex screws from the kit. Tighten securely. 4. Install the 5/16″ self-tapping hex socket screw through the cover and brake line manifold into the stem and bracket assembly. Torque to 10-15 ft-lbs (13.6-20.3 Nm). 5. Verify that the throttle and clutch cables are routed properly and do not interfere with steering the vehicle. After disturbing the brake system, BEFORE moving motorcycle, you must pump brake fluid until the pistons push the pads against the brake disc. If you don’t pump fluid pressure up again, the brake will not be available to stop the motorcycle which could result in death or serious injury. After disturbing the brake system, always test motorcycle brakes at low speed. If brakes are not operating properly, or braking efficiency is poor, testing at high speeds could result in death or serious injury
