Step 1: Switch main dashboard switch to “off” position (Ignition& light switch) Step 2: Disconnect negative (ground) cable from the Battery Step 3: Remove the Condenser and Breaker points from the circuit breaker timing base. Step 4: Disconnect advance/ retard cable from timing base Step 5: Remove timing base from timer shaft and housing (see your manual for instructions) Step 6: Remove circuit breaker wire stud or circuit breaker to coil wire assembly from timing base Step 7: Remove circuit breaker wire from Ignition coil, and mark terminal on coil with piece of tape. Step 8: Install the Electronic Ignition Module on the timing base. Mount this short black wire to one on the timer base screws by keeping some slack in this wire so the timing base can turn free. Solder the flag terminal to this short black wire and mount it under the timer to motor bolt. This way of mounting provides a much better grounding. Do NOT use the screws (number 1 or 2 screws from picture below) from the timing base!!!! Step 9: Now three wires pass this hole via the rubber grommet. Figure 1 Figure 2 Step 10: Reinstall the timer base on the timer shaft housing, and keep some slack in the wires before protruding the hole in the timer shaft housing, and secure with ground spring and cover retainer. Reconnect the advance/retard cable to the timer base. Step 11: Route the two long wires to the ignition coil. Check in the HD service manual for a proper route to the ignition coil. (Keep away from hot surfaces like exhaust systems). Cut the wires to the exact length necessary for mounting. Step 12: Determine the exact length of the wire loom. Keep in mind that one end of the loom enters the timer shaft housing by 1cm. Cut the loom to the proper length. Step 13: Insert both wires in the loom. Strip both wire ends and solder the two flag terminals on the wires. Step 14: Connect the red wire to the ignition coil, on the terminal where the 6 or 12 volt is supplied to. This terminal has at minimum one wire connected which runs to the main switch. Step 15: Connect the black wire to the ignition coil on the terminal which is empty, and has piece of tape on it. (Old place where the circuit breaker wire was connected to) Step 16: Install the trigger rotor on the timer shaft cam, and tighten the hex screw by using the hex key tool. Do not over tighten the screw! Step 17: Check for clearance between trigger rotor and Electronic Ignition Module. Appropriate clearance is between 0,5mm and 1,5mm . Minor adjustments can be made by unlocking the two screws and slightly shift/move the Electronic Ignition Module. Check if the rotor moves free. Timing instructions: Remove the spark plugs from the engine, but keep them connected to the spark coil cables and engine ground. This enables normal operation of the spark, and prevents unwanted engine firing on compression stroke. See service manual or handbook for timing instructions of your model Step 18: Reconnect the negative (ground) cable to the battery. Step 19: Switch main power to “on” position. The red light in the Electronic Ignition Module might already light up. If not, turn the kick starter slowly. The red light is on while charging (closed points)the Ignition coil, facing solid metal of the trigger rotor. The light goes off (open points) when the end of the solid surface of the trigger rotor passes the centre of the Electronic Ignition Module. At that point a spark is generated by the coil

Installation GENERAL The original equipment (stock) fender tip lamp assemblies must be removed and the wire(s) must be unplugged or removed as specified in the following instructions. FRONT FENDER TIP REMOVAL OF STOCK FRONT FENDER TIP LAMP ON 1994 AND LATER FLT MODELS 1. Refer to the applicable FLT Service Manual. Remove headlamp assembly with housing. 2. Locate the 3-place connector [32 in wiring diagram] through which 12vdc and electrical ground are connected to the fender tip lamp assembly. The connector locations are as follows: FLTC Ultra: Under fuse and circuit breaker block FLHT/C/C-U: On bottom of left outer fairing bracket FLHR: On left front above air suspension valve NOTE Before disassembling the connector in the next step, refer to the applicable wiring diagram and check wire colors and connections to assure that connector [32] has been located. 3. Refer to the “DEUTSCH ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR” section in the FLT Service Manual and remove the leads, connected to the fender tip lamp, from the socket half, connector [32B]. 4. Insert a small screwdriver blade in rectangular slot at top center of fender tip lamp lens and gently pry lens from lamp. 5. Remove two screws and nuts that fasten fender tip lamp assembly to front fender. Gently remove the lamp assembly taking care not to damage wires connected to lamp assembly. 6. Reach under left side of fender and gently pull wires through rear hole in left side of fender and then through clips on left side of fender and finally through front hole and out of trim strip. REMOVAL OF STOCK FRONT FENDER TIP LAMP ON 1993 AND EARLIER FLT MODELS, FLSTC AND FLSTN 1. Insert a small screwdriver blade in rectangular slot at top center of fender tip lamp lens and gently pry lens from lamp. 2. Remove two screws and nuts that fasten fender tip lamp assembly to front fender. Gently remove the lamp assembly taking care not to damage wire connected to lamp assembly. 3. Unplug wire connector located about 3 in. from lamp assembly. Cover the socket half of connector (connected to motorcycle wiring) with electrical tape. INSTALLING FRONT FENDER TIP TRIM FROM KIT-ALL MODELS 1. Position fender tip trim over holes in fender and guide outer ends of fender tip trim into trim strips on sides of fender. 2. Insert studs on fender tip trim through holes in fender and secure with locknuts included in kit. Tighten locknuts to 6 in-lbs . REAR FENDER TIP REMOVAL OF STOCK REAR FENDER TIP LAMP ON ALL MODELS Follow steps 1 through 3 given above for “1993 AND EARLIER FLT MODELS, FLSTC & FLSTN” INSTALLING REAR FENDER TIP TRIM FROM KIT-ALL MODELS 1. Position fender tip trim over holes in rear fender. 2. Insert studs on fender tip trim through holes in fender and secure with locknuts included in kit. Tighten locknuts to 6 in-lbs

Using your motorcycle’s specific repair manual instructions, check for proper chain alignment. Use OEM-specified shims to bring chain alignment into specification if required. 11. Using your motorcycle’s specific repair manual instructions, install the primary drive and clutch. Assure that all driveline components line up correctly. 12. Apply Loctite Threadlocker #262 (“red”) to the threads of the sprocket nut (also supplied with compensator shaft extension kit). Tighten sprocket nut to 150-165 ft-lbs (203.4-223.7 Nm). 13. Using your motorcycle’s specific repair manual instructions, install the primary cover. 14. Connect the negative battery cable. 2.3 Factory Regulator Removal 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Using your motorcycle’s specific repair manual instructions, remove the regulator. Save the factory-supplied hardware. 2.4 3-Phase Regulator Installation 1. Connect the 3-pin stator connector to the regulator. 2. Using the factory-supplied hardware, locate the 3-phase regulator on the mounting bracket and install using the factory-supplied hardware. Tighten to 50-80 in-lbs. 3. Attach the ground wire between the bracket mounting bolt and the bracket. Tighten to 70-100 in-lbs. 4. Trial-fit the long power wire to the motorcycle, and route to the original location of the factory regulator wire on the circuit breaker. 5. Trim any excess wire, and strip 5/16″ of insulation from the end of the wire using a wire stripper. 6. Slip the 1″ length of heat shrink (supplied) onto the wire. 7. Crimp on the (supplied) ring lug to the end of the wire, taking care that a good crimp connection is made.
