INSTALLTION INSTRUCTIONS – Mule 600/610 (4010 Trans skip to pg 4) 1. Place Roof Panel on top of UTV Roll cage and center front to back, and left to right. 2. Using Figure 1 Below – place UTV Roof Mounting Brackets around roll cage bar and using a marker, mark the position of the holes needed in the roof for each Roof Mounting bracket . Figure 1 Copyright 2007 DiamondBack Automotive Accessories, Inc. Page 3 3. Next, remove the roof from the roll cage and using a drill with 1/4″ bit, drill holes using the marks as a guide. 4. Cut (4) 3″ strips of adhesive foam and apply to roof in where mounting brackets are positioned to prevent roof rattling once mounted. Foam should run in the direction of the roll cage as shown in Figure 1 above. 5. Next, reposition the roof on the roll cage according to step 1. 6. Prior to attaching the roof mount brackets, cut the remaining adhesive foam in half and apply one section to the roof in the center of the roof where roof and each roll cage bar meet as shown in Figures 1 above. If additional tape is required to prevent rattling it can be purchased from any hardware store as window sealant foam tape. 7. Next, attach the roof mount brackets according to Figure 2. Use channel locks or pliers to hold top of carriage bolt and turn nut with 7/16″ socket.

Carefully remove the tail section body work. Save all bolts, washers and plastic rivets for re-installation of tail. Disconnect and remove the brake light (with all mounting grommets and washers), license plate and turn signals, key lock (with clip) and move all wiring out of the cutting areas. Remove the two bolts at the rear end of the stock fender (inside glove box) to allow the end to hang down for cutting. 2) Using a “Dremel” tool or cutting disc (this can also be done using a sharp edged knife, but is not recommended), remove the plastic shown in the photos above and below. Be sure to take your time cutting, so that you don’t cut away any more plastic than necessary. 3) Now relocate the rear mounting holes for the glove box 1.25″ lower in the tray to raise it up in the subframe as shown. 1. Install LH and RH passenger foot peg mount using 3/8×2-1/4″ hex head bolts, 3/8″ SAE flat washers, 3/8″ lock was and 1″ spacers between the motorcycl frame and mount. Figure 1 hers e xhaust ter) n’t Cut 6-1/4″ from end Cut 1/2″ from end Figure 2 2. Remove exhaust chrome covers from header pipes. 3. It is not necessary to remove the front cylinder’s front cover. Remove header pipes from cylinder heads. Cut pipes as shown in Figure 2. 4. Replace header pipes Cut cover 5-5/8″ from end – Shown already cut Figure 3 5. Cut top cover as shown in Figure 3. 6. Install supplied extension pipes as shown in Figure 3 using the OE e clamps. (Clamps covered by covers in picture – covers will be installed la Rotate clamps to make sure they don’t interfere with the foot peg mounts. Do tighten clamps yet. 7. Mount exhaust hanger bracket to body frame with (3) supplied vibration mounts. Figure 4. Figure 4 8. Install supplied clamps to ends of mufflers and fit over exhaust extensions. 9. Attach exhaust pipes to hanger bracket with OEM hardware (4 bolts). Apply Red Loctite to OEM bolts. Figure 4. 10. Install all chrome covers 11. Tighten all exhaust clamps. Figure 5 12. Install supplied chrome cover with clamp removed from cut OE chrome cover. Supplied cover slips over OE chrome cover. Push cover forward to prevent the body from hitting the cover. Figure 5. 13. Move OE clamp backwards and install 14. Position luggage rack as shown in figure 5. Installation For installation on rear fender with marker light: 1. Cut out Rear Fender Template. 2. Use a paper punch to punch out holes marked A and C . Holes A are the locations of the marker light screws, and hole C is the location of the marker light wiring. Cut along centerline of template from top down to hole C . 3. Remove light lens by carefully pressing down on top center of light to disengage tab. 4. Remove the two screws, washers, and nuts that hold the marker light assembly in place and carefully pull the light assembly away from the fender. Disconnect the wire connector and remove the light assembly. 5. Slip template over marker light wires, align holes marked A with marker light holes, and align lower edge of template with lower edge of fender. Tape template in place. 6. Prick punch holes marked B at indicated centers on template. 7. Carefully, and as accurately as possible, drill holes marked B in two steps. First drill holes with a 1/16″ drill, then finish holes with a 7/32″ drill. 8. See Service Parts illustration. Place the mud flap and reinforcement inside fender and secure outer holes with buttonhead screws (3), washers (6), and locknuts (7) contained in kit. The mud flap is split to fit around light assembly wires. 9. Using the longer panhead screws provided in the kit, install fender tip light and check that light is operational. For installation on rear fender without marker light: 1. Using a high quality masking tape, mask the lower three inches of the middle of the fender for the purpose of drawing a centerline on the fender. 2. Using a machinist’s square, locate the centerline of the fender by measuring in from each side of the fender flats. Mark the centerline on the masking tape. 3. Cut out Rear Fender Template. 4. Align centerline of template with centerline drawn on fender. Align lower edge of template with lower edge of fender. Tape template in place. 5. Prick punch holes marked B and C at indicated centers on template. 6. Carefully, and as accurately as possible, drill holes marked B and C in two steps. First drill holes with a 1/16″ drill, then finish holes with a 7/32″ drill. 7. See Service Parts illustration. Place the mud flap and reinforcement inside fender and secure with buttonhead screws (3), washers (5 and 6), and locknuts (7) contained in kit. For installation on front fender (FLSTS only): 1. Using a high quality masking tape, mask the lower three inches of the middle of the fender for the purpose of drawing a centerline on the fender. 2. Using a machinist’s square, locate the centerline of the fender by measuring in from each side of the fender flats. Mark the centerline on the masking tape. 3. Cut out Front Fender Template. 4. Align centerline of template with centerline drawn on fender. Align lower edge of template with lower edge of fender. Tape template in place. 5. Prick punch holes at indicated centers on template. 6. INSTALLATION 1. Cover the area of the fender where the Fender Tip goes with a thin layer of masking tape. Make certain the tape is smooth. Figure 1. 2. Carefully, position the front Fender Tip on the fender, make sure the Tip is centered on the fender. Figure 2. 3. Mark the hole locations with the marking pen. Figure 3. 4. Remove the Fender Tip. 5. Drill holes through the fender at the marks. Due to close clearances between front fender and tire, place block of wood between the fender and the tire to avoid tire damage. Figure 4. 6. Remove the masking tape. 7. Position the Fender Tip and insert the screws from the outside. 8. Install the nuts on the screws and tighten securely. Figure 5. 9. Repeat the above steps to install 70-710057R-000 Fender Tip to the rear of the front fender. MAINTENANCE Clean and polish with a chrome cleaner/polish. Check tightness of the nuts regularly.
