Kits 41017-00, 41026-00 and 41262-03 are designed for installation on 2000 and later XL, FXD and 2000-2002 Softail Model Motorcycles (except FXSTD and FLSTS). Kits 41260-03, 41261-03 and 41265-03 are designed for installation on 2003 and later Softail Model Motorcycles (except FXSTD and FLSTS). Kit Numbers 41017-00 and 41261-03 contain a16 inch chrome slotted rear wheel. Kit Numbers 41026-00 and 41260-03 contain a 16 inch chrome fatboy rear wheel. Kit Numbers 41262-03 and 41265-03 contain a 16 inch mirror chrome disc rear wheel. See Service Parts Illustration for kit contents. nstallation Do not re-use brake disc screws. New screws are provided for disc installation. Re-using original disc screws can result in torque loss and damage to rotor and/ or brake assembly. (00319a) Refer to the appropriate Service Manual for wheel removal and installation procedures. See Service Parts Illustration. This kit contains the necessary parts for wheel installation, however you will need to save the Axle, Axle Nut, Brake Disc, and the Drive Pulley with related hardware for reinstallation. NOTE The cotter pin or spring clip for the axle nut must be replaced. They are available for purchase from your dealer. See your dealer for the correct part number for your model motorcycle. NOTE Apply two drops of LOCTITE THREADLOCKER 262 (red) to each of the five sprocket mounting screws. Follow the bolt torque procedure in your service manual or, if installing an accessory hardware kit, in the I-sheet included with the hardware kit. Maintenance and Cleaning Chrome parts must be maintained regularly to ensure that they keep their original shine and luster. 1. Clean heavily-soiled wheel surfaces using Harley Wheel & Tire Cleaner Part Number 94658-98 applied with Harley Wheel & Spoke Brush Part Number 43078-99. 2. Thoroughly clean chrome with a good quality chrome cleaner, such as Harley Bright Chrome Cleaner Part Number 94683-99. 3. After cleaning and polishing, seal the finish with a good quality sealer such as Harley Glaze Polish and Sealant, Part Number 99701-84

Removal of Original Parts a. Disconnect the battery. b. Secure and raise the motorcycle 9 to 10 inches using a quality motorcycle lift. c. Remove the following from the vehicle. See OEM manual for detailed instructions. Items to be retained for re-installation after modification are noted. • Rider’s Seat (to be re-installed without modification) • Passenger Seat (to be reinstalled without modification) NOTE: OEM front / rear seat mount bracket and rear seat mounting bolt to be retained and reused. • Passenger Back Rest w/ Mounting Rails (to be re-installed without modification) NOTE: Back rest to mounting rail hardware to be reused. Mount rail to vehicle frame not to be reused. • Left and right passenger foot rests (to be re-installed without modification) • Drive Pulley / Belt cover (to be re-installed without modification) • Mufflers (to be re-installed and relocated with minor modification) • Rear Fender (complete w/ sub frame and all attaching parts) NOTE: Upper Forward Fender Mounting Bolt to be retained and reinstalled. • Shock Absorber to Swing Arm Mounting Bolt (to be re-installed) • Swing Arm and Rear Wheel (complete w/ all attaching parts) NOTE: Swing Arm Pivot Bolt, washer and nut to be retained and reinstalled. • Brake Line to Rear Master Cylinder • Drive Belt Core Return There are NO core return parts for this model Installation of Champion Trike Conversion Kit 4.1 Install Drive Belt a. Install supplied drive belt to transmission output pulley. (Refer to OEM manual) Figure 1 b. Drive belt cover to be reinstalled later. 4.2 Install Champion Swing Arm a. Install Champion Swing Arm to vehicle using the OEM pivot bolt, washer and nut. Figure 2 b. Attach OEM shock absorber to swing arm using OEM hardware. c. Torque pivot bolt nut to 90 lb. ft. d. Torque lower shock hardware to 43 lb. ft. 4.3 Install Rear Drive Assembly a. Install tension bolts and jam nuts to adjuster

It is important to inspect three things on the water pump drive pulley and belt. Inspect 1. That the belt and pulleys are in proper alignment and that the belt is not rubbing on flywheel or edges of the pulleys 2. That the pulleys are not cracked 3. That the water pump impeller pulley fastener is tight and has adequate high strength thread lock agent applied. Below is the proper orientation of the water pump drive pulley, cover, and spacers.

Removal of Original Parts Secure and raise motorcycle 9 to 10 inches using a quality motorcycle lift. Remove the following from the vehicle. See OEM manual for detailed instructions. Items to be retained for reinstallation after modification are noted. • Seat (to be re-installed without modification). • Left and right saddle bags (if so equipped). • Left and right rear crash bars, saddlebag rails (if so equipped). • Left and right passenger foot rests (to be re-installed without modification) • Complete exhaust system (to be replaced with new system). • Rear wheel NOTE: Prior to removing rear wheel, depress foot brake and secure in down position (e.g., zip-tie to floor board). This will prevent fluid flow when rear brake caliper is removed • Remove Rear Caliper (disconnect brake line at caliper) NOTE: Cap line to prevent introduction of dust / debris into line. Remove caliper. • Rear Drive Pulley (1987-99 models to be re-installed without modification). • Rear Fender (2000 and newer models, fender mount plates to be reused). • Swing Arm NSTALLING TRIKE CONVERSION KIT 3.1 Sprockets and Drive Belts Specifications See following table for belt installation (1987-99 will use a 4 tooth longer belt) Note : See OEM manual for belt replacement procedure. Do not discard hardware. Figure 1 3.2.1 1987-99 Model Years • Remove bearings from OEM Swing Arm using OEM shop tools and hydraulic press. Note : Although original bearings can be re-used, it is HIGHLY recommended that NEW bearings be installed to Champion Swing Arm a. b. Press bearings into Champion Swing Arm in the same way as the OEM Swing Arm. Using OEM Spacer Tube and supplied washers (four ¾” flat washers), install Champion Swing Arm using OEM bolt, outside washers and nut. Do not torque pivot bolt nut at this time. Figure 2 Note : Insure belt path is over and under Swing Arm pivot. c. d. Replace cross assembly and hardware (previously removed in step 3.2) to Champion Swing Arm. Note that the 2 upper left hand side bolts are countersunk. Torque pivot bolt to OEM specification
