GL1800 LED LIGHTED FRONT FENDER EAGLE Note: Read instruction thoroughly before installing. Drilling required. 1. Place bike on center stand. 2. Remove front fender. 3. Measure from the tip of the front fender towards the bike 3 inches and mark. 4. Center eagle on fender and mark fender for drill location under the eagle head. 5. Drill a 1/8″ hole. 6. Clean area. 7. Put the light wires through the hole and secure the wires to inside of fender so wires will not touch any moving parts. 8. Remove the tape covering from the light and press on firmly. 9. Replace fender. Attach the black wire to ground and red wire to a running light

ADJUSTING SPRING PRELOAD (STIFFNESS). NOTE: Shocks typically come set at their loosest (softest) setting. Adjustment range is approximately 4 full rotations. Step 1: Loosen preload adjustment locknut. (see fig. 1) Step 2: Using supplied special tool with a 3/8 ratchet, turn adjusting plate clockwise to stiffen preload & counter-clockwise to loosen preload. (see fig. 2) Step 3: Once preload has been set, lock down preload adjusting nut using blue (med strength) thread locker ADJUSTING RIDE HEIGHT. NOTE: Extending shock assembly lowers frame/fender height. Shortening shock assembly will raise frame/fender height. NOTE: Always check clearances during & after adjusting ride height. Step 1: Loosen ride height adjusting locknut. (see fig. 3) Step 2: Rotate end to desired height. Always leave at least 1 inch of threads engaged in the female threaded shaft. (see fig. 4) Step 3: Lock down ride height adjusting locknut using blue (med strength) threadlocker. (see fig. 5) Step 4: After adjusting ride height on both shocks, verify that they are the same length by measuring from their mounting points. (see fig. 6)

INSTALLATION 1. Refer to the Owner’s Manual and follow the instructions given to remove the seat. 1 2 4 1 3 is03341 1. Stock retention nut and washer 2. Plastic cap 3. Rearward fender hole 4. Center fender hole Figure 1. Retention Nut and Plastic Cap Location 2. For models that had a solo seat: Proceed to Step 3. For models that had a 2-up seat: The retention nut and washer must be moved from the rearward mounting hole to the center fender hole where the rear seat bracket will be attached. Use a cable strap to aid in this step as fol- lows: a. See Figure 1. Remove retention nut from rearward fender hole (3) and plastic cap (2) from center fender hole (4). b. Install plastic cap into the rearward fender hole. c. See Figure 2. Place the retention nut over the cable strap so the wide end of the nut rests on the eye of the cable strap. Thread the cable strap up under the fender and through the center fender hole. Pull up on the cable strap to hold the nut snug against the underside of the fender. d. With the rib of the retention nut seated into the notch in the fender hole, slide the retention washer into place from the rear. This will lock the retention nut in place. 3. Position the solo seat on the motorcycle frame with the mounting bracket at the rear. Bring the seat forward and engage the tab on the seat into the slot at the base of the fuel tank. 4. See Figure 3. Secure the seat to the fender using the knurled knob (3) and neoprene washer (4) from the kit. Install the washer on the knob and tighten the knob securely to the fender seat nut

REMOVAL 1. If model has mechanical speedometer drive, remove cable from fender bracket. Disconnect speedometer cable from the speedometer head. 2. Remove front wheel according to the Service Manual. 3. Disconnect and remove fender tip light power wire. 4. Remove hardware that holds fender in place and remove fender. INSTALLATION 1. See Figure 1 and Table 1. For each support bracket (4), remove backing from one side of tape (3), and affix tape to support bracket, carefully matching the contours of the bracket and tape for proper fit. 2. Remove backing from tape and place support brackets into position on the inside of fender (one on each side), aligning the mounting holes in each bracket with the holes in the fender. The tape side will affix to the inside of the fender. 3. Carefully place fender in position and secure fender with screws and flanged locknuts in kit. Tighten hardware to 12 ft-lbs (16.27 Nm). 4. Install front wheel according to the Service Manual. 5. Install mechanical speedometer cable. Use tie wrap (10081) to secure

1. Place bike on center stand. 2. Clean the outside surface of the front fender where the LED light accent will go with alcohol. 3. Check placement for light, then remove backing tape from fender light and press on firmly. 4. Run wires under the front fender and feed through bike avoiding moving parts and attach the black wire to ground and white wire to the accessory circuit. 5. Repeat on the other side. 6. We strongly suggest the purchase of part 18187, 18188, 18189, 18190 Accessory Switch Kits for the switching off all accessories. INSTALLATION Passenger Upright Installation 1. See Figure 1. Stand behind the motorcycle, and place (10) the front upright notches (2) into the front docking points (3). 2. See Figure 2. Check for correct notch engagement. NOTE Failure to correctly engage the sideplate notches to the docking points may result in damage to the rear docking points. 3. See Figure 1. Pull (11) the rotary latches (4) back into their rearmost position. Align the latches over the rear docking points (7), making sure the latches and rear notches (6) fit into the neck (8) of the rear docking points. NOTE This may require some gentle squeezing or spreading of the upright sideplates. 4. Push downward (12) on the sideplates, and close the rotary latches by pressing (13) the latch lever as far forward as it will go. A click will be heard when the latch is in place. REMOVAL Remove Right and Left Forks 1. Place suitable blocking under frame to raise front wheel several inches off the floor. For best results, use a hydraulic center stand on a level surface. 2. INSTALLATION 1. Remove seat using owner’s manual instructions. 2. Remove protective caps and nuts from stud plate. Save nuts for reuse. Leave plastic washers in place. 3. Carefully position grab rail (1) over stud plate and mark with masking tape or an appropriate marker to indicate where the protective tape (2) will be placed. The protective tape should slightly overhang the edge of the grab rail base. Remove grab rail and apply protective tape to fender. 4. Install grab rail to stud plate and install nuts and tighten to 5-8 ft-lbs (6.8-10.8 Nm) . After installing seat, pull upward on seat to be sure it is locked in position. 1 Install Accent Panels Note: See hardware list on Page 4 for usage and descriptions. 1.1 Elevate the rear of the vehicle and support with jack stands under the rear differential tubes. 1.2 Remove the rear wheels 1.3 Remove the passenger foot rests. 1.4 Remove front fairing (for wiring later in installation) . 1.5 Install cross brace and frame clamps to frame in the approximate position shown in Figure 1. 1.6 Note orientation of cross brace (Figure 2). Flat side of the brace against bottom of frame tubes. Outboard tabs up and to the rear of the vehicle. 1.7 Leave the bolts loose to allow the bracket’s position to be adjusted later in installation. 1.8 Install front brackets to vehicle between the frame and crash bars as shown, using the supplied hardware (the left side bracket is longer than the right. Figure 3 1.9 Leave the bolts loose to allow the bracket’s position to be adjusted later in installation. 1.10 Position the accent panel to vehicle. Figure 4 1.11 Install supplied hardware to front and cross brackets. Figure 5 &Figure 6 1.12 Leave the bolts loose to allow the accent panel’s position to be adjusted later in installation. 1.13 If not already preinstalled to your accent panel, install rubber bead edge molding between trike body (fender) and accent panel. Bead edge molding 1.14 Clamp the accent panel to the body (fender). Check position of accent panel and ensure proper positioning of bead edge molding. 1.15 Four holes will be drilled though body (fender) and accent panel in the approximate positions shown (both left and right accent panels). Figure 8 Note: Hole location dimension in Figure 8 are approximations. Your drill location may and can vary. Note: Hole position should be as high an possible on the accent panel, allowing space to install hardware 1.16 With accent panel and bead edge molding properly positioned and clamped to body (fender), Drill the two outboard holes in the approximate position shown from inside the fender well through mounting surface of accent panel. Note: Drill outboard hole first and install hardware to reduce risk of accidental movement. Figure 9 1.17 Drill remaining two inboard holes from the accent panel mounting surface through the body (fender). Figure 10 1.18 With both left and right accent panels installed, tighten all hardware at the left and right front mounting positions. 1.19 Trim off excess bead edge molding. 1.20 With left and right front mounting secure, check position and alignment of cross bar and accent panel mid mounts and tighten all hardware. 1.21 With fairing removed, crimp supplied xxx to the black, purple and blues wires of the vehicle’s turn signal wire loom. 1.22 Crimp one of the supplied male spade connectors to the end each wire from the accent panel. 1.23 Connect wiring as indicated in Table 1 below. 1. Use the Parts Checklist included with your hardware to verify the contents of the box. 2. Remove the front wheel, forks and triple clamps as shown in the Honda Shop Manual. 3. Remove the fork tube caps and install the new 1-inch extensions using the new “O” rings provided in your kit. 4. Install the new Triple Clamps. Remember to grease the new upper and lower steering bearings. The signal-cancel device under the lower triple clamp does not require special re-mounting hardware. 5. Install the forks into the new Triple Clamps. Check the steering lock action by turning the forks fully in both directions. 6. Reinstall the fender and wheel assembly. Be sure the brake hoses are routed to allow full travel of the forks.
