1. Remove airbox cover. Drill stock rivet nut in frame tube through with a ¼” drill as shown in Photo 1. Drill completely through frame tube. We suggest you make a small guide hole in the top of the frame tube first so that you drill straight through the frame member and not come out the side of the frame tube. Photo 1 .Install Lower mounting bracket as shown in Photo 3 noting its orientation. Install the aluminum cone into the recess at the bottom of the stock airbox , then bolt the bracket on with the 6 x 70 mm bolt. Nylock nut threads to top of bolt on top of frame tube as shown in photo 2. Photo 3 2 3. Install the upper mounting bracket shown in Photo 4. Note that in either the MXC or the EXC installation four to six of the 6 x 18 mm fender washers should be installed between the bracket and the subframe. The counter-sunk hole should be positioned toward the rear wheel. Leave the bracket slightly loose until step 6. Photo 4 The best routing for the fuel line (Photo 5 & 6 ) requires drilling holes in the airbox. See Step 4 for hole locations. 4. Drill a 3/8″ hole at the front left corner of the airbox as shown in Photo 6. Make sure the location you choose will not result in the hole coming out behind the frame tube or into the rubber airbox boot. Be very careful drilling this hole.

Clamping Centerstand to Frame. Notice the centerstand is shipped with (2) white plastic washers. Note: See photo #2-A These are in place to overcome the spring tension or lock the stand in place and allow you to pivot the lower stand down partially to make installation easier. Pivot the upper stand about half way from the retracted to the extended (down) position. Note: This will require some force. If the stand will not stay in the position you can further tighten the two 9/16” pivot nuts. Remove the bolts from the four band clamps. Wrap the (2) small clamps around the small upper frame tube and start the bolts so that the bolt will be at the bottom of the tube and the wrench head facing towards the rear of the motorcycle. Note: See photo #2. Center the stand on the frame from side to side so as to gain even clearance between the feet on the centerstand and the rear tire when the stand is in the retracted position. Holding the larger cradle up against the frame, tighten the (2) small clamps enough to hold the centerstand in place. Install one of the large clamps as shown in photo #3-A. Install the 2 nd large clamp as shown in photo #2-C. Again retract the stand and check that the feet have even amounts of space from the side of the rear tire. Tighten the flour clamps securely 5-7 ft. lbs. Next remove the (2) 9/16” pivot nuts and the white plastic washers as shown in photo #2-A. Re-install and tighten the 9/16” pivot nuts securely 8-12 ft lbs. With the stand in the retracted position-adjust the stop bolt and lock nut, see photo #3-B, so that the stand is parallel with the ground and does not come incontact with any parts of the motorcycle

INSTALLATION Prepare Bike for Hardware Installation 1. Use a suitable lift to support the motorcycle under the frame until the rear suspension is fully extended. NOTE To remove the tether from the hole in the frame, reach under the frame tube to align the metal tee (located on the end of the seat tether) with the tether cable. 2. See Figure 1. Unlatch and open seat. Remove tether (4) by sliding small clip (3) sideways through hole in frame. NOTE To remove the tubular plastic seat-hinge sleeve from the hinge, turn the sleeve to reveal the slotted length. Push on the slot with your finger to pop the sleeve off the hinge pins. Closing the seat slightly allows the sleeve to fall from the hinge-side of the seat, so be prepared to catch the sleeve. 3. Remove plastic sleeve (2) from hinge pins (1) and slide pins toward rear of bike. Remove seat. 2 1 4 3 is 00449 1. Hinge 2. Sleeve 3. Clip 4. Remove tether from frame Figure 1. Installation 1. See Figure 1. Install setscrew (14) into lower hole on frame tube boss (2) leaving .20 in. of setscrew (or three threads) exposed. 2. Place highway peg mounting plate (1) into position. For a lower peg position, place bottom hidden hole in mounting plate over setscrew. For a higher peg position place upper hidden hole in mounting plate over setscrew. Attach mounting plate to frame tube boss using 1 in. long screw (3), lockwasher (4), and flat washer (5) from kit. Tighten screws to 33 ft-lbs. 3. Install footrest support (6) onto highway peg support plate using hex nut (7), lockwasher (8) and flat washer (9) from kit. Tighten nut (7) to 47 ft-lbs. 4. Locate spring washer (10) from kit. While holding spring washer in position on inside of footrest support (with square edge towards motorcycle), position footpeg (not included with this mounting kit) between footrest support mounting tabs, as shown. 5. Insert 1-1/2 in. long screw (12) from kit through footrest support mounting tabs, footpeg, and spring washer. Secure using locknut (13) from kit. 6. Repeat these steps for the other side of vehicle. 1 WARNING These footrest pegs must fold upward and toward the rear at about a 45°angle when retracted. If they do not, peg could contact ground while motorcycle is in a turn, causing loss of control or startling the rider, resulting in possible personal injury. If pegs do not fold up and back at a 45°angle, remove pegs and turn them over so the flat surface is facing forward.
