Check the power, ground, and TX+, TX- wiring between the RSE ECU and the display. Perform the following check without disconnecting any connectors. A. Using the EWD, check the resistance of the wires between the DVD player ground terminal or integrated DVD player/RSE display and chassis ground. The resistance of the wires should be below 1 Ω. Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS): applicable model year Wiring Diagrams. B. Check the resistance of the wires between the RSE ECU ground terminal and chassis ground. The resistance of the wires should be below 1 Ω. C. Check the voltage on the power terminals on the DVD player and the RSE ECU. Voltage should be greater than 12 V. D. Check the voltage between terminals TX+ and chassis ground and TX- and chassis ground at both the RSE ECU and the DVD player. Voltage should be between 2.0 V and 3.0 V Check the resistance of the wires between the RSE ECU and the radio/player. The resistance of the wires should be below 1Ω. C. Check the resistance of the wires between the RSE ECU and the radio/player to ground. The resistance of the wires should be 10 kΩ or higher

1. Remove the false fuel tank cover to expose the battery. Remove the right hand lower leg fairing. (4 phillips screws). Unplug the stock horn and remove the (2) 10mm bolts securing it to the frame. 2. See photo #1 using the stock horn bolts attach the black horn mounting bracket and the white ground wire supplied as shown. Next locate the relay supplied. Plug the stock horn wires into the relay terminals #85 & #86. (see wiring diagram on back side of instructions) 3. Attach the air hose to the compressor air outlet fitting. Attach the short red wire supplied to the compressors positive (+) terminal and the white wire installed earlier to the compressors ground (-) terminal. As shown in photo #2. Attach the compressor to the frame with the hose clamp provided. Note: position the top of the compressor as shown touching the bottom of the horn mounting bracket and approximately 1 Ω” to the rear of radiator and shroud. Also the air hose and fitting should be in front of the frame tube with the hose routed inside the hose clamp without pinching the hose. Attach the red wire from the compressor to one of the relays remaining outer terminals #30 or #87. Attach the remaining long red wire (supplied) to the remaining relay terminal #30 or #87. Secure the relay to the frame with a cable tie supplied. Route the red wire up to the battery positive (+) terminal. Locate the fuse wire assembly provided. Attach the fork end of the fuse wire to the battery positive (+) terminal. Cut the red wire to the desired length, strip the end and crimp to the fuse assembly. Turn on the ignition and press the horn button, you should hear the compressor motor run. Re-install the false fuel tank lid. Re-install the right lower leg fairing while routing the air hose out next to the black horn mounting bracket 4. See photo #3, Bolt the horn set to the black mounting bracket using the 5/16 x æ”bolt, washer and lock washer provided. Trim the air hose to length if necessary and attach the air hose to the horn assembly. Install the trumpet covers. (see instructions enclosed with covers) Turn on the ignition and test the horns

1. Remove seat. 2. Disconnect battery. 3. Remove handlebar cover on top-center of handlebar. 4. Remove left-side clutch-bracket assembly. This exposes an access hole on the underside of the handlebar. 5. Pass the end of the Signal® mirror wires through one of the small holes located on the underside of the clutch-bracket assembly housing. 6. Take piano wire/fish tape and insert at the access hole located on the underside of the handlebar to the center of the handlebar (center handlebar cover removed). 7. Fasten the end of the Signal® mirror wires to the piano wire/fish tape and pull through the handlebars to the center opening. 8. Pull excess wire through the handlebars leaving approximately 2″ of extra wire at the mirror side. 9. Re-assemble clutch-bracket assembly allowing the Signal® mirror wire to wrap around the outside edge of the cover assembly into the underside access hole. Secure Signal® mirror with enclosed 1.5″ long 5/ 16 ” – 24 Allen head bolt. 10. Loosen throttle assembly side and slide back to expose access hole. DO NOT REMOVE THROTTLE ASSEMBLY. Proceed to pass the Signal® mirror wire through the handlebar at the opposite side and re-assemble the throttle assembly. 11. Run both sets of wires under the fuel tank along the topside of the frame to the battery compartment. 12. Connect both black wires to the enclosed ring connector for connection to the battery ground terminal. 13. Locate the male/female electrical connector that is located behind the battery. This wiring assembly is for your tail lamp assembly for braking and turning (see photo). 14. Make sure the harnesses are routed securely to the wire connectors and enough slack is left for splicing or soldering. Cut the heat shrink into (4) equal pieces (approx. 2″ each). 15. Slide the heat shrink over the passenger side Signal® mirror wire. Solder the Right Signal® mirror wire to the Brown wire. Slide the heat shrink over to cover the soldered area. Heat the shrink tube into place with a heat shrink gun or hair dryer. 16. Repeat sliding the heat shrink over the driver side Signal® mirror wire. Solder the Left Signal® mirror wire to the Purple wire. Slide the heat shrink over to cover the soldered area. Heat the shrink tube into place with a heat shrink gun or hair dryer. 17. Connect ground and positive battery connections. 18. Re-install seat.

1. Remove gas tank as per service manual procedure 2. Disconnect negative lead from battery 3. Determine a location for the VFC III unit. Suggested locations are as follows: on left or right side under the covers, on top or side of battery, on inside of the side covers, on PCM or under seat 4. Locate rear injector, disconnect factory connection using care not to break it, the red tab must be lifted first and then push the release to remove plug. Plug it into the female end of the VFC, Then plug the male end of the VFC into the injector. 5. Locate connection of front jumper harness- it is located on the right side of frame – in the center of air box. Disconnect and plug appropriate VFC connectors in place. 6. Zip tie harness so that it is free from being contacted 7. Install gas tank and connect ground terminal of VFC along with the factory ground lead. Note, On Vegas, Kingpin, Jackpot & Hammer Models. Be sure not to pinch VFC harness under rear tank mounting bracket, the harness must run on the side of or under the frame in this area as not to contact the rear tank mount. 8. Turn the motorcycle key to the “ON” position, after fuel pump cycles the Green / Red lights will flash and will remain flashing until an injector signal is detected, this occurs when the M/C is started. Once running the green will scroll for 4 seconds and then turn solid until another circuit is activated. Some 2000-20001 bikes will not light the box until started. The module controls your basic fuel adjustments and your fuel delivery for the Nitrous when activated. The following functions and colors that represent them are as follows. Basic Module description and adjustments ; the module has 3 button adjustments, Center is the mode selector, this scrolls through and chooses the feature that you want to adjust. To the left of it is the button in which minus’s in value the selected feature. To the right of the mode button is the plus button which makes the feature selected go higher in value. If a fuel feature is selected the minus button will diminish fuel down to the lowest level of the current download and plus will add fuel up to the maximum amount calibrated into the module. There are 8 LED lights on the front panel with 15 points of adjustment ranging from 0 to 8 in increments of .5 or 1/2 . Ex. 1 – 1.5 – 2 – 2.5 – 3 – 3.5 – 4 – 4.5 – 5 – 5.5 – 6 – 6.5 – 7 – 7.5 – 8
