Use locktite on all fasteners!! 2. Put bike on lift and place jack under frame. Raise bike to lift rear wheel. 3. If swing arm pivot shaft is drilled and tapped on each end, they need to be redrilled and tapped to 3/8-16 to a depth of _” deep. If you are unable to drill & tap your swing arm pivot shaft, you can purchase one from Cycle Visions (part #CV6121), See Harley Davidson® V-Rod® Service Manual Section 2, Page 2.89 for removal and installation instructions. 4. Remove seat, passenger seat, turn signal module, rear fender cover, turn signal license plate assembly, and rear foot peg assemblies. NOTE: Our bag system will not work with stock exhaust system… we recommend the 2-into-1 Supertrap, or you may use any exhaust system that is lower than the rear axle bolt. 5. Remove the two upper shock bolts. Relocate the shock spacer from the right side to the left side, and use the new spacer supplied on the right side. 6. Install front bag mount between frame and spacer (see Figure 1), reinstall shock bolts and torque to 31-50 lbs. 7. Install lower bag support frame to swing arm pivot shaft using the 3/8″ bolt through rear foot peg clevis and cover (see in Figure 2). NOTE: There is a right and left covers and bag support, install accordingly. Torque to 35 foot lbs. 8. Install rear fender front mounting tabs using 8mm 1.25 x _ and flat washers (supplied in kit) (see Figure 3). 9. Install upright saddlebag support brackets to the lower bag mount assembly and lower fender extension crossover mount. (see Figure 4). Torque to 25 lbs. NOTE: Install crossover mount with gusset facing down. 10. Remove license plate light from your rear turn signal bracket license plate assembly. Install license plate light on our license plate light bracket (see Figure 5). 11. Install the license plate bracket on the inside of the rear fender extension using the top holes of the license plate frame (see Figure 6 & 7). 12. Install fender washers on the inside of the fender extension (see Figure 8). 13. Install upper fender bracket to rear fender extension with a _-20 bolt supplied in kit (see Figure 9). 14. Install rear fender extension with chrome button fitted bolts. (see Figure 10 & 11). 15. To check alignment and fit of rear fender extension reinstall original rear fender. Once you have everything lined up and fitted, remove original rear fender, drill & tap (2) two 5/16 x 18 holes in rear fender support bracket (see Figure 12). 16. Install Harley Davidson® Part #70909-95 and 47449-97 bracket and receptacle on front and rear bag supports (see Figure 13 & 14). 17. Install Harley Davidson® Part #47449-97 bracket with receptable (see Figure 14). Make sure the bolts come from the inside out. This bracket is adjustable for location.

STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL 1. Loosen nose slip clamp at front of muffler section using 12mm socket. 2. Remove pin located on mounting bracket from stock exhaust system using 13mm wrench and 4mm Allen wrench. 3. Remove two 6mm Allen bolts connecting lower muffler to mounting bracket. 4. Remove the entire muffler section from the headers as a single unit. Note: Do not remove stock mount bracket, rubber mount rail or head pipes from motorcycle, since they will be re-used. 5. Loosen the exhaust port flange bolts at both cylinders without removing. This will aid in the assembly and alignment of the new system 6. Remove the OEM nose slip clamp from the front of the OEM muffler section. Save for re-use. VANCE & HINES EXHAUST SYSTEM INSTALLATION 1. Remove exhaust system and heat shields from protective packaging. Place exhaust on a non-abrasive surface such as a blanket or carpet. Using a nonpermanent marker or tape, mark outside edge of each heat shield to show location of mounting clips that hose clamps will loop through. 2. Install OEM nose slip clamp to front of Vance & Hines muffler section. 3. Loosely install tailpipe heat shields (part # D285HC and D286HC) to headers using four #20 hose clamps and one #56 hose clamp. Note position and direction of clamp heads. (Figure 1) Note: #56 hose clamp attaches both heat shields

STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL (DESTROYER) 1. Remove both collector bolts. 2. Remove nuts from both front and rear exhaust cylinder head flanges using a 13mm socket. 3. If the Racepak is installed, remove both O2 and EGT sensors from the front and rear head pipes. 4. Carefully remove complete exhaust from the motorcycle. STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL (V-ROD) 5. Loosen clamp bolt at front of the collector using a 13mm socket. 6. Remove muffler bracket bolt using a 13mm wrench. 7. Carefully remove muffler and collector assembly from motorcycle. 8. Remove nuts from both front and rear exhaust cylinder head flanges using a 13mm socket. 9. Carefully remove head pipes from motorcycle. 10. Remove the stock exhaust flanges and circlips from both the front and rear head pipes. If the circlips are bent or twisted they should be replaced, Harley-Davidson part number #65045-01 We also recommend replacing the stock exhaust gaskets, Harley-Davidson part number #65109-01 INDY SERIES EXHAUST SYSTEM INSTALLATION 1. Identify front head pipe #7-8002. Install the stock flange and circlip. Install the exhaust gasket and front header pipe, leaving the flange nuts hand tight. 2. Repeat the above step for the rear head pipe #7-8006. 3. Slip the megaphone/collector assembly onto the head pipes, secure with the four springs supplied using the spring puller tool. 4. Rotate the exhaust so there is adequate clearance in all places. 5. Tighten the cylinder head flange nuts for both the front and rear head pipes. 6. Tighten both the EGT and O2 plugs on the front and rear head pipes. 7. Clean all fingerprints from the exhaust using a contact cleaner (or other non flammable cleaner). Fingerprints will leave stains on the pipe once the motorcycle is started. 8. You are now ready to start the motorcycle.
