1. Remove original seats from your bike. #2. Your new Ultimate seats install using the front seat side mount bolts and the passenger seat is bolted to the front seat and rear fender. Side mount hex nuts = 2. If your stock rider seat is a rear fender mount, install one of the hex nut inserts on each side of the frame if they are not in your bike frame already. #3. All the mounting brackets are already installed on your new seats. #4. Connect our passenger seat to the rider seat with the 2 new round head allen bolts ( 1/4″ x ¾”) #5. Use the 2 new supplied bolts to attach the rider seat to the bike frame, one on each side into the threaded inserts ( 1/4″ x ½”) pan Phillips head) #6. Use the other new bolt for the passenger seat rear bracket in the fender (1/4″ x ½”) pan head. Enjoy the ride again

Installation 1. See Figure 1. Install setscrew (14) into lower hole on frame tube boss (2) leaving .20 in. of setscrew (or three threads) exposed. 2. Place highway peg mounting plate (1) into position. For a lower peg position, place bottom hidden hole in mounting plate over setscrew. For a higher peg position place upper hidden hole in mounting plate over setscrew. Attach mounting plate to frame tube boss using 1 in. long screw (3), lockwasher (4), and flat washer (5) from kit. Tighten screws to 33 ft-lbs. 3. Install footrest support (6) onto highway peg support plate using hex nut (7), lockwasher (8) and flat washer (9) from kit. Tighten nut (7) to 47 ft-lbs. 4. Locate spring washer (10) from kit. While holding spring washer in position on inside of footrest support (with square edge towards motorcycle), position footpeg (not included with this mounting kit) between footrest support mounting tabs, as shown. 5. Insert 1-1/2 in. long screw (12) from kit through footrest support mounting tabs, footpeg, and spring washer. Secure using locknut (13) from kit. 6. Repeat these steps for the other side of vehicle. 1 WARNING These footrest pegs must fold upward and toward the rear at about a 45°angle when retracted. If they do not, peg could contact ground while motorcycle is in a turn, causing loss of control or startling the rider, resulting in possible personal injury. If pegs do not fold up and back at a 45°angle, remove pegs and turn them over so the flat surface is facing forward.

See Figure 1. Note mounting locations for engine guard. 2. See Figure 2. Hold Engine Guard (1) in place. Attach top center mounting flange of engine guard to cross brace located between front downtubes just below the steering head with panhead screw (4), 5/16 inch washer (3) and 5/16 inch hex nut (2) as shown. On left side of the bike, attach the engine mounting guard (1) in the indicated location with a button- head screw (4), 3/8 inch washer (3) and 3/8-16 nylon locknut (2). Tighten finger tight. 4. Repeat installation on right side of the bike, attach the mounting guard in the indicated location. Tighten to 33 ft- lbs (44 N-m). 5. Tighten engine guard left side mounting hardware to 33 ft-lbs (44 N-m). Tighten engine guard top mounting hardware to 19 ft-lbs (25 N-m).

Remove Pillion 1. See Figure 1. Open rider’s seat and remove tether (1) from pillion base. 2. Remove and save seat post nut (3) and hex nut (2) from the pillion base for reinstallation. Lift pillion tabs off frame studs and push the pillion forward to release bottom of the pillion from pillion post on fender. Make note of electronics caddy location and wiring routes under pillion base. Press on the caddy’s retaining tabs and remove the caddy from the fender. Remove the four fender support screws and washers (2). Discard screws, but save three washers for re-installation. INSTALLATION 1. Unsnap the original equipment (O.E.) left-side glove box door, and unfasten the tether by bringing the aglet end (see Figure 1, B) out through the retaining hole. Always wear proper eye protection when drilling or grinding. Flying debris could cause serious eye injury. (00402e) 2. Using an 3/16 inch (5 mm) bit positioned in the center of each snap, drill out the four plastic snaps surrounding the glove box opening. NOTE The glove box door, hinge and frame assemblies are side- specific. The assemblies install so that the tether retaining hole (C) in the door frame is to the inboard side. 3. Obtain the new left-side glove box door, hinge and frame assembly (1), a lock (2) and a tether assembly (8) from the kit. Remove the nut (3) from the lock. 4. Insert the lock through the hole in the glove box door as shown. Assemble the tether over the lock threads with the tab (A) on the inboard side of the lock, same as the retaining hole in the door frame. Tighten securely. 5. Open the left-side door, and position the door assembly at the glove box opening, lining up the holes. 6. Insert a screw (9) through each of the holes in the door frame and glove box. Install a hex nut with washer (10) onto the threads of each screw. Tighten finger-tight. NOTE Ambient temperature should be at least 60° F (16° C) for proper adhesion of the gaskets to the glove box door frame. 7. Clean the glove box door frame with a mixture of 50 to 70% isopropyl alcohol and 30 to 50% distilled water. Allow to dry thoroughly. NOTE The glove box gaskets are side-specific. With the paper backing facing the door frame, the oblong hole at the top of the gasket is to the outboard side. 8. Obtain the left-side gasket (6) and a hinge gasket (7) from the kit. Install the gaskets to the glove box door frame. a. The gasket liner on the large gasket is split to aid alignment. Peel one half of the liner from the adhesive backing of the left-side gasket. b. Using the frame edges and screw heads as a guide, carefully position the gasket to the glove box door frame and press firmly into place. c. Peel the remaining half of the liner from the gasket backing, and carefully position the rest of the gasket to the door frame. Press firmly into place. d. Apply steady pressure for a few seconds at all areas of the gasket to verify proper adhesion. e. Peel the liner from the hinge gasket. f. Carefully position the gasket to the door frame above the hinge, and press firmly into place.
