The following explains some technical aspects of the Enhancer Ignition. Battery: The battery is necessary to the operation of the Enhancer in two regards. • The battery supplies voltage to the complex timing feature of the Enhancer.
• The Enhancer has a built in boost circuit that amplifies the spark energy at low rpm where the stock magneto is insufficient. The MSD NiCad Battery pack, PN 4381, must be charged with the recommended battery charger or an MSD Fast Charger, PN 4385. The battery should be completely discharged before recharging. If a 7.2 Battery Charger is used, the recommended time for charging is seven hours. With the MSD Fast Charger the battery only needs to charge for one hour. Note: No fast charger besides the MSD Fast Charger may be used to charge the MSD NiCad Battery. Damage to the battery will occur. Timing: The Enhancer Ignition allows the user to adjust the ignition timing curve to optimize engine
power output. This is done by rotating the potentiometer shaft located on the back of the ignition. Clockwise rotation retards the timing while counterclockwise advances the timing (Figure 1). Coil: The MSD Enhancer Ignition System includes a special Pro CD Coil. This coil has an extremely low primary resistance and a high turns ratio to produce maximum spark energy. The Pro CD Coil is encapsulated in a Rynite compound that is impervious to contaminates and vibration. Note: Do not use the stock coil with the Enhancer Ignition

Install the throttle cables into the supplied throttle housing and place onto clean handlebar end. 2. Remove the rubber carburetor alignment tabs from the manifold using a razor blade or sharp cutters. This should be done with the rag left in the manifold. Be very careful not to damage the manifold or your hands while doing this!! 3. Remove the hex pipe plug from the carb cap using a 11mm or 7/16 wrench. Do not discard plug, as it will be needed later. Install the metering
adjustment tool included in the hardware kit. Do not over-tighten as damage may occur to cap. 4. Install provided fuel line onto fuel inlet banjo and secure with pinch clamp. 5. Place Edelbrock carburetor into manifold. Do not tighten clamp yet. 6. Remove the cable bracket end from cable bracket using #2 phillips. 7. Install pull cable (see Figure 2) end into
the 4:00 position of the cable wheel and the return cable into the 1:00 position. Secure cables into cable bracket by replacing end piece and phillips screw. See figure 3.

If the sensor doesn’t start to the passage on the magnetic field, use one or several spacers to bring the sensor closer to the ground. – When fixing the cable with nylon tighten-cables, take care to move this one most possible away of the exhaust Fix the magnetic support (supplied) on one of the arms of the disc brake support with a nylon tighten-cable (see photos). Fix it on the narrowest part of the arm. – With a scorer, draw a feature on the mudguard in front of the magnetic support n this case, install the speed sensor to « 90° ». – Put down the mudguard and fix the speed sensor and its cable with nylon tighten-cables. For that to make, pierce holes of diameter 3mm (to see photos)

If you feel that you are having any problems at all with the Power Commander II, disconnect it from your motorcycle. This will allow the motorcycle to run directly off of the stock ECU. The lights don’t come on when I turn the ignition switch on.
Check to make sure connectors are seated and the kill switch is in the “run” position. The on-board adjustment buttons do not hold their settings. Be sure to wait 20-30 seconds after making adjustments before starting or turning off the bike.
Can not upload to or download from the Power Commander II. Check to see that the serial cable is firmly in place. Verify that ignition switch is on and the kill switch is in the “run” position. My mouse uses the same serial port. If your computer has a PS/2 port purchase a DB9 to PS/2 adapter for your mouse. I get a “verify failed….” message when I upload a map to the Power Commander II. Programs running in the background or fluctuations in supply voltage (from outlet) can sometimes cause this error. In most cases, the information was sent properly to the Power Commander II. Pushing
the “upload all” button again should produce a “tables sent and verified” message. I typed in notes, but they didn’t save.
You need to first push the “accept” button in the notes window and then the “save file” button.

Works Performance Products, Inc. constructs two types of shocks for the ST1100. Both have an integral reservoir (often
referred to as a “piggyback” reservoir). This reservoir increases the shock fluid capacity. This additional fluid helps
dissipate heat generated by the damping in the shock. The reservoir contains a polyurethane bladder which separates
the nitrogen from the shock oil. The shocks differ in the external adjustments. RACER The Racer shock features a large 1.375” damping piston and Works’ exclusive check-ball and orifice damping system. This damping system allows an extremely wide range of damping through the high-, medium- and low-speed circuits that are incorporated in the design. It has spring pre-load adjustment to change the ride height to accommodate changing loads. PRO RACER
The Pro Racer shock features a twin tube design with external compression and rebound adjustments. This design also
incorporates an orifice damping system, one that is unique to Works Performance. This damping system allows an
extremely wide range of adjustments to the high-, medium- and low-speed circuits on compression and rebound. it has
spring pre-load adjustment to change the ride height to accommodate changing loads. (Damping adjustment information
is contained in an additional instruction sheet that comes with the Pro Racer series of shocks.

We highly recommend having a professional install this undertail. A dremel tool or nsimilar is what we found the best to cut plastics. Place bike on a rear wheel center stand. Remove passenger seat and hardware which secure stock undertail section Unplug the harness that connects tail light and remove the stock undertail. Position Bestem undertail close to the bike and determine the amount of plastic needs to be cut out. Use a dremel tool to carefully trim off plastics (glove boxes etc). This is the most time consuming part of the installation but your patience will be paid off. 5) Once the new undertail is slide in, determine holes need to be drilled (only on
certain models). Reuse the hardware for the stock undertail to secure the new undertail. 6) The wiring color codes from two round tail lights are Black Wire – Ground, connects to Ground wire. Red Wire – Brake Light, connects to brake light. Blue Wire – Running Light, connect directly to the running light. Orange Wire – Turn Signal, connect them to your L/R turn signal wires We highly suggest you solder the connections and use heat shrink wrap to seal the connections. Test your lights before going out for a ride, also make sure your new undertail is securely installed on the bike. Now it’s time to go out for a spin!
