Remove right side Foot peg assembly or Floorboard. (Whichever is applicable to your model.) 2. Remove bolts that are holding pipes at rear mounting bracket. 3. Loosen clamps at mufflers. 4. Remove mufflers. 5. Remove the two nuts that secure the rear exhaust header pipe to the rear cylinder head. 6. Remove rear exhaust pipe assembly. 7. Remove the two nuts that secure the front exhaust header pipe to the front cylinder head. 8. Remove front exhaust pipe assembly. 9. Remove exhaust-mounting bracket from frame. Hard-Krome Exhaust System Installation NOTE: Take care when fitting this Hard-Krome aftermarket exhaust system on your motorcycle. It has been designed to replace a STOCK exhaust system on a motorcycle with its engine, frame and other components in their STOCK design, configuration and location. WARNING : Re-check and re-tighten ALL fasteners and supports after 50 miles, then re-check and tighten as necessary on a periodic basis to ensure proper operation and performance. NOTE: All fasteners should be loose during initial installation to ensure proper fit and location of the new exhaust system.
1. Install new exhaust gaskets. 2. Install mounting bracket using Bolts with flat & lock washers. (See Illustration) 3. Install Front exhaust header pipe, taking care to not scratch chrome surfaces on pipe, engine or motorcycle — use masking tape as needed. 4. Install the two nuts to secure the flange that holds the exhaust header pipe to the front cylinder head — DO NOT TIGHTEN NUTS! 5. Install nut strip into slotted bracket of front pipe and start the 3/8-16×3/4″ Bolt with flat & lock washer through backside of mounting bracket. — DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS! 6. Carefully install rear pipe. 7. Install the two nuts to secure the flange that holds the exhaust header pipe to the rear cylinder head — DO NOT TIGHTEN NUTS! 8. Install nut strip into slotted bracket of rear pipe and start the 3/8-16×3/4″ Bolt with flat & lock washer through backside of mounting bracket. — DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS! 9. Tighten the two bolts that secure the rear exhaust header pipe flange. 10. Tighten the two bolts that secure the front exhaust header pipe flange. 11. Tighten front pipe bolts at mounting bracket. 12. Tighten rear pipe bolts at mounting bracket. 13. Reinstall foot peg assembly or floorboard. 14. If applicable to your model install foot peg relocating brackets and foot pegs as shown in illustration. 15. Before starting bike wipe off any fingerprints and grease off pipes. Start bike and check for any exhaust leaks.

The rider’s safety depends upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333a) NOTE The bolts supplied in this kit are designed for a one-time installation only. Installation NOTE Do not install this product below 60°Fahrenheit or the speaker trim will not adhere properly. NOTE Trim rings cannot be repositioned after initial installation so be certain the trim rings are properly aligned. 1. Gently brush or vacuum each speaker grill to remove any dust or dirt particles. 2. Cut 8 one inch long strips of narrow masking tape. 3. Without removing the adhesive backing, position the trim rings against the speaker grill. 4. Rotate trim rings into desired position and hold in place. 5. See Figure 1. Apply masking tape directly to the speaker grill above and below the trim ring cross bar and on both sides of the center Bar and Shield logo. This will serve as an installation template. 6. Remove trim ring adhesive backing. 7. Align trim ring with the masking tape template and press firmly into place. 8. Remove masking tape template. 9. Allow adhesive to cure for 24 hours before operating the motorcycle

1) Place motorcycle on a smooth level surface on its side stand. 2) Install leveling screw jacks so that motorcycle is in an upright and level position. 3) Remove saddlebags. 4) Mount bracket A ( left side ) to the 3 bolts that attach the rear fender and sub frame to the main motorcycle frame. new bolts provided 5) Mount bracket B ( right side ) to the 3 bolts that attach the rear fender and sub frame to the main motorcycle frame. new bolts provided 6) Bracket C mounts to the outside of bracket A at the rear lower hole. ( left ) 7) Bracket D mounts to the outside of bracket B at the rear lower hole. ( right ) 8) Bracket E ( left ) attaches to the outside of the motorcycle frame just under the rear foot peg and above the frame weld with the provided U-bolt. see diagram 9) Bracket F ( right ) attaches to the outside of the motorcycle frame just under the rear foot peg and above the frame weld with the provided U-bolt. see diagram 10) Bolt brackets C and D to the top rear of the receiver hitch. 11) Bolt brackets E and F to the top of the forward arms of the receiver hitch. 12) Tighten all bolts at this time. 13) Remount saddlebags and check all bolts for tightness. 1. Place your motorcycle on a smooth level surface and attach leveling jack stands. 2. Assemble axles, wheels, and fenders onto the tow-pac hitch cart. 3. Push the hitch mount into the receiver hitch. (this might bea little difficult until you get use to doing it. Removing the paint from the hitch mount and applying a little grease will help.) 4. Place the hitch pin through the receiver hitch and hitch mount ( alignment plate ). Install and tighten the tension bolt. 5. Align InstaTrike wheels. (initial installation only. Check periodically and realign if necessary) 6. Bolt lean stop braces to hitch. (Bolt inserts from the bottom) Be certain to replace washers/spacers in the same configuration as when you removed them.

1) Secure motorcycle in an upright position. 2) Remove saddle bags 3) For hitch clearance you will need to install the enclosed muffler lowering spacers. 4) Attach forward brackets A (left) and B (right) to motorcycle rear crash bar with U-Bolts. Also attach brackets at the point where the saddle bag sub frame and rear crash bar connect using new bolt provided. 5) Attach rear brackets C (left) and D (right) to motorcycle rear frame using new bolts provided. See diagrams next page. Attach top portion first then bottom portion. 6) Attach brackets A and B to forward arms of receiver hitch. Brackets mount on BOTTOM of hitch arms. 7) Attach bottom of brackets C and D to rear of hitch. 8) Now tighten all bolts working from rear forward. 9) Replace saddle bags and double check all bolts for tightness. Hitch Diagrams InstaTrike Installation 1. Place your motorcycle on a smooth level surface and attach leveling jack stands. 2. Push the hitch mount into the receiver hitch. (this might be a little difficult until you get use to doing it. Removing the paint from the hitch mount and applying a little grease will help.) 3. Ride slowly in first gear until you are comfortable with the Tow-Pac system.
