Disconnect the negative cable from the battery before installing this accessory. • To prevent scalding, allow the engine and cooling system to cool before installing this accessory. • The memories of the tripmeter, clock, radio andbsuspension system will be erased when you disconnect the battery. Reset the memories after reconnecting the battery. • Tighten the screws, bolts and nuts securely. • Trim the excess ends off the wire ties after attaching them to the wire harnesses. Do not allow the cut part of the wire tie to interfere with another harness or brake pipe. Using cutting pliers, cut out the marked areas from the front lower cowl. Finish the edges of the holes smooth and flat with a file. 1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 2. Remove the front lower cowl and bolts as described in the Service Manual.

Bright- coloured and  reflective clothing can help make you more noticeable in traffic. Be sure to avoid loose clothes that could get caught on any part of your motorcycle. 4 Additional Off-Road Gear On-road apparel may also be suitable for casual off-road riding. But if you plan on any serious off-road riding you will need more serious off-road gear. In addition to your helmet and eye protection, we recommend off-road motorcycle boots and gloves, riding pants with knee and hip pads, a jersey with elbow pads, and a chest/ shoulder protector. This motorcycle has been designed as a rider-only motorcycle. It is not designed to carry a passenger. A passenger could interfere with your ability to move around to maintain your balance and control of the motorcycle. In addition, exceeding the weight limits or carrying an  unbalanced load can seriously affect your motorcycle’s handling, braking, a11d stability. Adding accessories or making
modifications that change this motorcycle’s design and performance can also make it unsafe. Also, the weight of any  accessories will reduce the maximum load the motorcycle can carry. The following pages give more specific information on loading, accessories and modifications. Loading How much weight you put on your motorcycle, and how you load it, are important to your safety. If you decide to carry cargo, you should be aware of the following information. Overloading or improper loading can cause a crash and you can be seriously hurt or killed. Note: Read instruction thoroughly before installing. 1. Remove the rear reflector. 2. Place a piece of masking tape in the reflector area and for marking area for light and wire to be installed. Place the light on the reflector area and mark hole for wires. 3. Drill a 1/8″ hole. 4. Clear area. 5. Put the light wires into the hole. 6. Remove the tape covering from light and press on firmly. 7. Attach the black wire to ground and the other wire to the accessory fuse on the left side of the bike. 8. We strongly suggest the purchase of part 18187, 18188, 18189, 18190 Accessory Switch Kits for the switching off all accessories. Note: Read instructions thoroughly before installing. 1. Place bike on center stand. 2. Run a bean of silicone (provided) on the inside edge of one of the Dash Door Accents. 3. Place the accent over the pocket and secure with wire ties (provided). Repeat on the other side. 4. Run a bead of silicone on the underside of the door latch accent and set in place. 5.
