1. Wash engine sidecase to remove any dirt, grease, oil, etc. 2. Clean engine sidecase and the CFC case guard with quick drying solvent such as electrical contact cleaner or brake cleaner 3. Apply an even layer of Permatex 16B silicone adhesive* to the backside of the CFC guard. This can be a messy job and most find the best tool to spread it evenly is your finger. It is suggested that you use a rubber glove to avoid skin contact. Try to get complete coverage free of voids and about 1/16-1/8″ thick 4. Align sidecase Guard with the engine sidecase, keeping the logo horizontal (if the Guard has one). Gently press on the engine sidecase. Once you feel that it is aligned and positioned properly, press with enough evenly distributed pressure to get an equal squeeze out of Permatex all around the perimeter. Don’t worry if you end up with excess. Excess adhesive can be cleaned up with a rag and mineral spirits or brake/contact cleaner. Let dry overnight 5. A couple of strips of masking tape can be carefully applied to assure the guard doesn’t move

INSTALLATION NOTE The location of the Tour-Pak spoiler has a direct relationship to the location of Tour-Pak mounted luggage rack. The spoiler template will locate the Tour-Pak spoiler in the correct position for the luggage rack so that the spoiler may be added in the future. It is recommended that the spoiler be installed first. See Figure 1. 1. Identify if the installation of a Tour-Pak mounted spoiler is desired in the future. Use the template if the spoiler will be installed. Cut the template along the appropriate line. Carefully place template on top of Tour-Pak lid, aligning edges of template with top surface of Tour-Pak. Tape template in desired location. 1 is 00579 1. Check clearance between rack and spoiler Figure 1. Tour-Pak Rack and Spoiler NOTE Position top rack with upright section toward rear of motorcycle. To avoid contact with the passenger backrest pad, do not mount the top rack in too far forward a position. 2. See Figure 2. Place the four mounting pads (1) onto the four mounting supports on top rack (2). Carefully center the rack on the lid and position the rack rear supports 5/8 inch to 3/4 inch (16 mm to 19 mm) in front of the emblem on the Tour-Pak lid, as shown. 1 is 00636 1.5/8 in. – 3/4 in. (16 mm – 19 mm) Figure 2. Locate Holes From Emblem 3. Use a grease pencil to temporarily mark the positions of the four mounting pads on Tour-Pak cover. NOTE Apply masking tape to the Tour-Pak cover painted surface at the four points where the top rack mounting holes will be drilled. The tape can be marked for hole location, and will help prevent the paint from being chipped during the drilling procedure. 4. Carefully remove top rack/mounting pad assembly. Place a strip of masking tape over each grease pencil mark on the Tour-Pak cover. Once again, position top rack/mounting pad assembly on Tour-Pak cover in the desired mounting location. 5. Using a soft lead pencil on the masking tape strips, trace a circle around each mounting pad. Remove top rack/mounting pad assembly. Use a ruler to mark the exact center of each circle drawn on the tape strips. NOTE Remove all contents from within the Tour-Pak to avoid possible contact with the moving drill bit during the following drilling procedure. 6. Drill starter holes using a 1/16 inch drill bit. Drill the finished holes for the mounting screws using a 9/32 inch drill bit. Remove masking tape strips. 7. Apply a small amount of silicone sealant around each mounting hole on interior surface of Tour-Pak cover

Disconnect the tail lamp following the instructions in the appropriate service manual. 1 2 is05463 1. Bolt (4) 2. Washer (4) Figure 1. Fender Mounting Bolts INSTALLATION NOTE There are bosses molded into the inside of the fender to use as the hole drilling templates. 1. See Figure 2. Apply masking tape to the outside painted surface of the fender at the three hole locations (1 and 2). This will protect the painted surface during the drilling operation. 2. Put the fender on a work bench, painted surface down. Use clean, soft cloth between the fender and the work bench to protect the paint finish. NOTES Drilling each hole in the fender is a two-step procedure that requires a specific type of drill bit to avoid damaging the fender. 3. See Figure 2. Use a 1/2-inch spade bit or 1/2-inch unibit (do not use a spiral-type drill bit) to drill three holes from the inside of the fender through the three pilot hole bosses (1 and 2). Stop drilling when the tip of the bit just pierces the outside surface of the fender. 4. Turn the fender over so the painted surface is now facing up. Complete each hole by using the same 1/2-inch drill bit at each of the pierced holes. Clean excess material from the holes and clean the fender surface of any debris. 5. See Figure 5. Remove the masking tape from the holes and apply the protective tape (3) to the painted surface using the drilled holes for alignment. 6. See Figure 3. NOTE: CAUTION is required when drilling and cutting to prevent cracking and scratching the windshield material. A professional glass service is highly recommended for this purpose. Should you attempt to install the windshield vent on your own, follow the instructions below. Add On Inc. will not be held liable or responsible for any damage to the windshield. 1. Place bike on center stand. 2. Cut out the template provided and center on windshield approximately 2 ¾” above the tint line. Tape the template to windshield using masking tape. Use enough masking tape to cover the area to be cut out to prevent scratching. If using a power sabre saw to cut the pattern out, put masking tape on the foot to prevent scratching the windshield. Drill the four corners using a sharp power sabre saw, electric drill (using a 7/16″ drill bit), and or hack saw. 3. Smooth cut edges with sand paper. 3. Install the vent. The two pieces will snap together in the windshield. Use chrome screws provided to secure vent in the windshield.

INSTALLATION 1. Carefully cut out appropriate template from sheet included in kit. One side is for FLSTS style fenders (with elliptical hole for front fender lamp), and the other side is for FLT style fenders (with rectangular front fender lamp). 2. Lay template on front fender (align around front fender lamp). 3. Underneath four holes marked on template, place high quality masking tape on fender. 4. Using a tape measure, measure from the top of the striping on the sides of each side of the fender, to the centerline of the each of the holes on the template (on some FLT models, with chrome fender trim, measure from the chrome fender trim at the bottom edge of the fender). Make sure that the distances are equal so that the template is centered on the fender. 5. Tape the template to the fender using high quality masking tape. NOTE Before proceeding, stand directly in front of the fender and carefully check to make sure the template is centered on the fender. 6. Center punch the center point of each of the four holes. 7. Remove the template from the fender. 8. Block motorcycle under frame so the front wheel is raised off the ground. 9. Follow appropriate Service Manual procedures and remove the front axle. 10. Place a rag on the top of the front brake caliper, then lower the front wheel so that it is resting on top of the brake caliper. NOTE When drilling fender holes, use care not to hit tire with drill bit. 11. While holding the fender firmly, and using caution to make sure that your drill bit does not hit the tire, drill the four holes at the points marked by the center punch. Begin with a 1/8 inch drill bit, followed by a 9/32 inch, and finally a 3/8 inch drill bit. 12. Remove the masking tape and any burrs that may have formed. 13. Remove the adhesive backing from each of the foam pads on the bottom of each of the stanchions. 14. Place the studs from each of the end stanchions into the holes (you may need to rotate the rails 180 degrees if they appear to be bowed out). 15. Reaching from the front of the fender, place kit washer, and then a locknut, over each of the studs on the underside of the fender. 16. Securely tighten each locknut so that the stanchion is firmly clamped to the fender. 17. Follow appropriate Service Manual procedures and replace the front wheel and axle
