1. 1994-99 models: Remove upper shock absorber nut, washer, shock cover and backing washer. Save nut and washer and discard shock cover and backing washer. 2000-03 models: Remove upper shock bolt, washer and shock cover and save washer. NOTE: Do not remove stock inboard washer that is positioned behind shock cover and against shock absorber. 2. All models: Remove OEM buttonhead screw and flanged nut directly to the rear of the upper shock mount on fender support. Note T-spacer in fender support. Save nut and discard bolt. 3. 1994-99 models: Position saddlebag support (item 1) with front bracket over shock stud and rear mount over hole in fender support. Install ½ * bushing (Item 2) over shock stud and into hole of support front mount. Install saved OEM nut and washer (items 3,4) and tighten securely. 2000-03 models: Apply Locktite to the OEM shock screw (Item 5) and install through the saved washer (Item 6), front bracket of the saddlebag support (Item 1), shock and into the frame. Tighten to 21-35 ft. -lbs torque. NOTE: If installing supports with sissy bar side plates, omit 5/16 * lock washer (Item 8). H-D sissy bar side plate mounts between fender support and fender. Khrome Werks® sissy bar plate mounts outboard of fender support. CAUTION: Be careful to not dislodge T-spacer from its position in fender while inserting screw through fender support and fender. 4. Insert supplied socket head cap screw (Item 7) and lock washer (Item 8) (if applicable) through the rear saddlebag support mount, sissy bar side plate (if applicable) , fender with T-spacer and frame. Apply Loctite to the saved flanged nut and secure. Tighten to 8-13 ft-lbs torque.

1. Using a sharp knife, remove the rubber from your current grip by carefully cutting it away from the existing plastic throttle sleeve. The rubber that is adhered to the plastic sleeve must be ” shaved” resulting in a smooth plastic sleeve with no rubber. 2. Apply glue to the throttle sleeve. Use about 1/4 of the tube of glue on each side. Most of the glue should be applied to the end of the sleeve away form the throttle housing. 3. Slide the grip on to the throttle sleeve with one strong push. Use a rubber mallet if needed. Be sure not to get any of the glue into the space between the throttle sleeve and the throttle housing as well as the space between the throttle sleeve and the handlebar. *Wipe up any excess glue immediately

1. Disconnect the battery, and remove the fuel tank. 2. On engines with the oil tank above the engine, drain the engine oil. 3. Remove the front exhaust pipe to clear the Cam Housing Cover. 4. Remove the Rocker Covers and remove the four 5/16″ bolts and the two 1/4″ bolts holding the rocker arms in place. With the rocker arms removed, remove the stock pushrods. 5. Remove the push rod tube retaining clips and push rod tubes. 6. At this point, you may remove the lifter covers and take the lifters out, or you can make a lifter holding tool from a binder clip as shown in Figure 1 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. Disconnect the battery, and remove the fuel tank. 2. On engines with the oil tank above the engine, drain the engine oil. 3. Remove the front exhaust pipe to clear the Cam Housing Cover. 4. On pre-2000 models with a cam position sensor, you may want to remove the inspection cover, unplug the wires, and remove the sensor at this time to ease installation later on. 8. Remove the cam housing cover keeping the bolts in a separate cup. ( Note: Oil will run out of the cam housing.) 9. Using the Chain Tensioner Unloader Tool, unload pressure on the outside chain tensioner, and pin it in place with the retaining pin (See Figure 2) .

See Figure 1. Place a 5/32-inch (4 mm) thick insert between the brake lever and the lever bracket. 5. Refer to the service manual, and follow the instructions to loosen the brake hand lever/master cylinder assembly and remove the right-side upper and lower switch housing sub-assemblies from the handlebar. It is not necessary to remove the throttle control grip. For FLHR models: Refer to the service manual. Disconnect the left-side handlebar MOLEX socket housing from the gray eight-way main harness pin housing [24B] inside the headlamp nacelle. Refer to the service manual to remove the clutch hand lever and left-side upper and lower switch housing subassemblies from the handlebar. 6. For ALL models: See Figure 2. The friction shoe (1) is a loose fit on the end of the tension adjuster screw (2). Make sure the shoe has been removed with the switch housing sub-assemblies, and is not lodged in the groove of the throttle control grip (4). 3 4 1 2 is06318 1. Friction shoe 2. Verify that the 5/32-inch (4 mm) thick insert is in place between the brake lever and the lever bracket. Obtain the new right-side handlebar switch housing assembly (Item 4 or 5, depending on model) from the kit. Separate the upper and lower halves of the housing assembly. Refer to the service manual, and follow the instructions to install the switch housing assembly and brake hand lever/master cylinder assembly to the handlebar. 8. Route the right-side switch harness along the same path as the original harness (along the right handlebar). Connect the pin housing to the black socket housing disconnected in Step 3. 9. For FLHT, FLHTC, FLHX, FLHXXX and FLTRX models: Continue at Step 11. For FLHR models: Obtain the new left-side switch housing assembly (6) from the kit. Separate the upper and lower halves of the switch housing assembly. Refer to the service manual, and follow the instructions to install the left-side switch housing assembly and clutch hand lever assembly to the handlebar. 10. Route the left-side hand control harness along the same path as the original harness (along the left handlebar). Connect the pin housing to the gray socket housing disconnected in Step 5

The included 3600-SWHA switch harness is intended for use with offroad models that do not come with a Hi/Low beam switch from the factory. The harness is compatable with stock AC lighting electrical systems as well as high output DC electrical systems. 1. Remove the stock numberplate or headlight. Remove the stock kill switch from handlebars and replace with the 3600-SWHA switch. 2. Remove the gas tank. Route the white and black leads from the 3600-SWHA under the tank following the wires from the stock kill switch. Disconnect the stock kill switch bullet and connect the white wire of the 3600-SWHA to the wiring harness. Disconnect the stock kill switch ring terminal and connect the ring terminal of the 3600-SWHA. Fully remove the stock kill switch. Be sure all the wires are safe from being burned or pinched and re-install the gas tank. 3. Disconnect the two female spade terminals from the stock headlight switch (if present). Connect the terminal with the yellow wire to the red power lead from the switch. Connect the white wire to the blue accessory output from the switch. Be sure the clear silicone sleeves are covering the stock plastic housings. 4. Connect the X2 headlight to the switch headlight plug. Note: The stock headlight plug will not be used for the X2 installation, but is still functional for connecting the stock headlight. The stock plug will turn on and off with the new headlight switch, and will be powered in either of the Low or High Beam positions

A battery in a stored vehicle is subject to conditions which can reduce its performance and life. These conditions include storage period, temperature, parasitic drain, and battery load. Because of these factors, battery inspection and maintenance are recommended in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life. As a matter of policy, Toyota does not provide battery warranty coverage for excessively discharged and/or failed batteries due to
lack of maintenance. It is considered the dealers responsibility to maintain the specified state of charge of the vehicle’s battery while in stock. BATTERY MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. A monthly battery inspection is recommended under normal conditions. If your dealership is located in an area subject to extreme temperatures (hot or cold), periodic maintenance may need to be performed on a more frequent basis. Some customers may request to have the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on their Toyota vehicle disabled. These customers may live or work in military bases or in communities that have light-sensitive gates or guardhouses. This bulletin provides instructions for disabling the feature on the Toyota vehicles listed below. If the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) have been previously disabled, the information in this bulletin can be used to enable the feature at the request of the customer. IMPORTANT: Please be sure the customer is informed that when the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) are being disabled, although it is not required by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for safety compliance, it has been listed as a safety feature in advertising brochures. In addition, on models equipped with the Twilight Sentinel feature, the headlights will be defaulted to a manual system and will no longer function automatically

Relationship Between Tire Characteristics and Vehicle Pulling to One Side When radial tires are rotating, they have the characteristic of generating force in the lateral direction between the tire and the road surface. This lateral force is comprised of two factors: S Ply-steer, which changes direction according to the rotation direction of the tires.
S Conicity, which is generated in a fixed direction regardless of the tire rotation direction. If these lateral forces are too strong, vehicle pulling will occur. A. Ply-Steer Lateral force due to ply-steer is produced by the construction of the belts inside the tire tread. With radial tires, the wire of the belt is slanted as shown in the illustration below. Thus, it is in the lateral direction that tire tread easily changes shape (stretches), and lateral force is generated between the tire and the road surface in the lateral direction.
