1. Refer to the proper factory service manual for your model and year of engine, for removal of existing pushrods. 2. The Feuling pushrods are designed with a small adjustment parameter for rigidity creating maximum lift – These are not quick install pushrods and may require the removal of the lifter blocks and or loosing of the breathers/rocker arms supports. When loosening the rocker arm supports always remove the breather bolts first. 3. Clean and inspect each new Feuling pushrod including center oil hole 4. Feuling pushrods are marked Intake and Exhaust. The shorter pushrods are Intake and the longer pushrods Exhaust 5. Feuling recommends using new O-rings and gaskets where applicable to prevent oil leaks
6. Always pump up hydraulic lifters before installing them. Use an oil squirt can to fill the lifter with oil through the feed hole on the side of the lifter, push oil through the feed hole until the air bubbles are gone. If needed work the oil back and forth through the feed hole and pushrod seat with the squirt can. Light weight oil can be helpful. 7. Assemble and adjust one cylinder at a time, the servicing cylinder needs to be on TDC of compression stroke so the cam lobes are at their lowest point 8. Install pushrods into proper locations with the adjusting side of the pushrod down, towards the lifter. Slide the pushrods through the pushrod covers up into the rocker housing and set the pushrod on the seat of the lifter. We recommend filling the pushrods with oil then maneuver the pushrod up into the rocker arm seat. 9. Torque rocker arm housings and breathers to factory torque spec’s 10. See the instructions for your lifters for the proper adjustment. All Feuling hydraulic lifters run best at . 090″ – . 100″ of crush.

Check the engine oil level each day before riding the motorcycle. The level must be maintained between the upper (2) and lower (3) marks on the dipstick (1). 1. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. 2. Stop the engine and hold the motorcycle in an upright position on firm, level ground. 3. After a few minutes, remove the oil filler cap/dipstick, wipe it clean, and reinsert the dipstick without screwing it in. The oil level should be between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick. 4. If required, add the specified oil up to the upper level mark. Do not overfill.

ENGINE OIL Engine Oil Level Check Check the engine oil level each day before riding the motorcycle. The level must be maintained between the upper (2) and lower (3) marks on the dipstick (1). 1. CAUTION Running the engine with insufficient oil can cause serious engine damage. TYRES Proper air pressure will provide maximum stability, riding comfort and tire life. Select the right replacement tire in accordance with the following specifications: Cold tire pressures kPa ( kg/cm2, psi ) Front: 175 ( 1.75, 25 ) Rear : 225 ( 2.25, 33 ) Tire size Front: 2.75 – 17 41P Rear : 2.75 – 17 41P Check the tires for cuts, embedded nails, ore other sharp objects. See your authorized Honda Dealer for replacement of damaged tires or punctured inner tubes OPERATION PRE-RIDE INSPECTION WARNING If the Pre-ride Inspection is not performed, serious damage or an accident may result. Inspect your motorcycle very day before you ride it. The items listed here will only take a few minutes to check, and in the long run they can save time, expense and possibly you life. 1. Engine oil level – add engine oil if required. Check for leaks. 2. Fuel level – fill the fuel tank when necessary. Check for leaks. 3. Brakes – check operation. Adjust free play if necessary. 4. Tyres – check condition and pressure. 5. Drive chain – check condition and slack. Adjust and lubricate if necessary. 6. Throttle – check for smooth opening and full closing in all steering positions. 7. Lights – check that headlight, tail/brake light, turn signals, indicators. 8. Engine Oil Replacement • Replace the engine oil after the first 50 miles or 1 hour with 5w50, 10w50 or 15W50 synthetic engine oil. Then replace again every 1,500 miles or 1 each year. Check oil level every 500 miles, add oil if needed. Changing the Engine Oil (1).Warm up the engine for a few minutes. (2).Stop the engine. (3). Place scooter on center stand. (4).Place an oil pan under the engine and remove the dipstick. (5).Remove the drain plug and drain the oil. Reach in drain hole, pull out filter clean and reinstall, after all oil drains out. (6).Reinstall drain plug. (7). Fill the engine with oil until the level is in the designated area on the dipstick. (8).Start the engine and check for oil leaks. If a leak is found stop the engine immediately and look for cause. Rear Wheel Oil Replacement • Replace the gear oil after the first 500 miles with 5W/50 synthetic engine oil. Replace the gear oil again every 4 months or every 2000 miles. • Replacing the Gear Oil (1).Put the scooter on the center stand (please see photo below) . (2).Place an oil pan under the gear case (please see photo below) . (3).Remove the oil filler bolt and the drain plug to drain the oil (please see photo below) . (4).Reinstall and tighten the drain plug. (5).Fill the gear case with oil (please see photo below) . (6).Reinstall the oil filler bolt. (7).Check for oil leakage. Cleaning Air Cleaner Be sure to check the air cleaner regularly. (1).Place the scooter on the center stand. (2).Unscrew and remove the left side panel. (3).Remove the air cleaner cover by removing the screws. (4).Take out the air cleaner by removing the screws. (5).Remove the air cleaner element and wash it gently, but thoroughly in solvent. Replace if damaged. (6).Squeeze out the excess solvent and dry it. (7).Apply oil to the entire surface of the air cleaner and squeeze out the excess oil. It should be damp but not dripping. (8).Install the air cleaner, cleaner cover, and left side panel. center stand 1 oil pan 2 3 oil drain plug oil pan 5 Main Switches On Position: • Electrical circuits are switched on. The engine can be started and the key can not be removed.

Failure to complete the required engine maintenance can result in engine damage and an increase in emissions. Replace every 10,000 miles (16,000 kilometers) or as needed. Ignition Timing Inspect every 5,000 miles (8,000 kilometers). Engine Mounts Inspect at 500 miles (800 kilometers) and every 5,000 miles (8,000 kilometers) thereafter. External Fasteners Except Engine Head Bolts Re-torque at 500 miles (800 kilometers) and every 5,000 miles (8,000 kilometers) thereafter. 1- S&S recommends that petroleum-based oil not specifically formulated for motorcycles should be changed every 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) after the break-in period. 2- Replace more frequently if required or if engine is operated in a dusty environment.

1) Remove OEM Tensioner: On some models including the 250F motors, it may be necessary to put the engine at TDC before proceeding. Check your manual. This is not the case on the 450 and 530 single cam motors. • Remove the outer cover plug. • Remove the large cover with copper washer. • Using needle nose pliers grab the end of the OEM tensioner and pull it outward. Be careful not to damage the aluminum port or face. • If the O-ring did not come out with the tensioner, carefully reach into the port and remove it without pushing it further into the engine. 2) Install new Tensioner: • To prepare the new tensioner, set the spring aside. Put the new tensioner in the collapsed position. (They are packaged and shipped in the collapsed position.) If you have extended it, rotate the assembly until the “top” on the piston is facing up. Then a light tap from the bottom will release the ratchet. This will now allow the plunger to be retracted to about 1- 13/16″ (46mm). • Install the O-ring over the tensioner body, keeping it outboard of the ridge as shown. • Slide the tensioner assembly with O-ring (without the spring), into the engine port. The end (with the hex-head spring hole) should only protrude from the engine about 1/32″ (.75mm). • Install the cover and tighten. The copper washer should be tight. • Insert the spring through the cover port. As it is slowly inserted, you may hear clicks as it pushes the plunger inward while ratcheting. • Install and tighten the plug against the spring. Note: some 250F engines have a one piece cap. Slide the spring into the tensioner far enough to hold it, then capture it with the cap and tighten. • Start the engine and carefully check for oil leaks. Adjustment will occur internally as it is needed. No further maintenance of the tensioner is required
