Protect yourself and others when you have a vehicle up in the air. Anytime you lift a vehicle, either by hoist or a jack, make sure that it is securely supported. b. Items to be retained for reinstallation after modification are noted. • Left and right side-covers (to be re-installed with minor modification). • Seat (to be re-installed without modification). • Trunk. • Left and right passenger foot rests (to be re-installed without modification). • Left and right side-covers above passenger foot rests. • Battery and holder (to be re-installed without modification). • Left and right saddle bags (retain side cover mounting grommets for re-use). • Left and right mufflers. • Rear wheel. • Rear brake line to master cylinder.** • Reverse resistor assembly (to be relocated). • Swing Arm (Drive shaft boot will not be used). • Bank angle sensor. • Shocks. Air shock (non coil-over) to be reused. ** Thoroughly vacuum drain rear brake system, including feed line to left front caliper Modification to Trunk / Luggage Stay Removal from vehicle frame is not necessary. a. Cut the down tubes of the trunk stay and remove the lower section as shown in Figures 1 & 2 b. Trim rear upper tube-end rounded corners just outboard of welded nut. Trim line should be parallel with center line of vehicle. This will provide clearance for body when installed. Figure 2 (Inset) c. Remove the Hazard and Turn Signal relays from the center holder; bend Relay Holder Tab up 90°. Relays will be relocated to left and right sides. Figure 3

Use 17/64″ drill and drill through frame from inside out using passenger footrest mount holes as guide. b. Enlarge the passenger footrest mounting holes on the left and right side of the frame to 27/64″. c. Enlarge the holes in the left and right passenger footrest mounting plates to 27/64″. d. Clean area of all debris. 3.2 Relocate Regulator a. Install supplied “Z” bracket to the regulator as shown using the supplied hardware. b. Attach regulator to frame using the supplied hardware. c. REMOVAL OF ORIGINAL PARTS Secure and raise motorcycle 9 to 10 inches using a quality motorcycle lift. Remove the following from the vehicle. See OEM manual for detailed instructions. Air shock (non coil-over) to be reused. ** Thoroughly vacuum drain rear brake system, including feed line to left front caliper PREINSTALLATION PREPARATION 3.1 Modification to Trunk / Luggage Stay Removal from vehicle frame is not necessary. a. Cut the down tubes of the trunk stay and remove the lower section as shown in Figures 1 & 2 b. Trim rear upper tube-end rounded corners just outboard of welded nut. Trim line should be parallel with center line of vehicle. This will provide clearance for body when installed. Figure 2 (Inset) c. Remove the Hazard and Turn Signal relays from the center holder; bend Relay Holder Tab up 90°. Relays will be relocated to left and right sides. Figure 3 d. Disconnect and remove Bank Angle Sensor from its mount tab (Bank Angle Sensor will not be re-used). Cut wires midway between sensor and plug. e. On plug end, splice / connect red and green wires together to close the circuit. f. Cut and remove the Bank Angle Sensor mount tab from the Trunk stay. Figure 4 3.2 Modification to Rear Inner Fender Removal of fender and attached parts is not necessary for modification. a. Place supplied template (See last page) on fender (left and right sides) as shown and mark outline. With box cutter, cut fender along template outline. Once material is removed, make a vertical cut up the side (line indicated by arrow Figure 5) of the fender. Do not continue cut across top of fender. Figure 5 b. Carefully heat underside of fender with heat gun and bend fender upward until aft end contacts frame cross member. c. Drill holes in plastic fender through cross brace at locations indicated and secure fender to cross with zip ties. Figure 6

This will prevent fluid flow when rear brake caliper is removed • Remove Rear Caliper (disconnect brake line at caliper) NOTE: Cap line to prevent introduction of dust / debris into line. Remove caliper. • Rear Drive Pulley (1987-99 models to be re-installed without modification). • Rear Fender (2000 and newer models, fender mount plates to be reused). • Swing Arm NSTALLING TRIKE CONVERSION KIT 3.1 Sprockets and Drive Belts Specifications See following table for belt installation (1987-99 will use a 4 tooth longer belt) Note : See OEM manual for belt replacement procedure. Do not discard hardware. Figure 1 3.2.1 1987-99 Model Years • Remove bearings from OEM Swing Arm using OEM shop tools and hydraulic press. Note : Although original bearings can be re-used, it is HIGHLY recommended that NEW bearings be installed to Champion Swing Arm a. b. Press bearings into Champion Swing Arm in the same way as the OEM Swing Arm. Using OEM Spacer Tube and supplied washers (four ¾” flat washers), install Champion Swing Arm using OEM bolt, outside washers and nut. Do not torque pivot bolt nut at this time. Figure 2 Note : Insure belt path is over and under Swing Arm pivot. c. d. Replace cross assembly and hardware (previously removed in step 3.2) to Champion Swing Arm. Note that the 2 upper left hand side bolts are countersunk. Torque pivot bolt to OEM specification

Engine assembly requires special attention to detail. Your cylinder must be bored to fit this new piston. For long engine life it is very important that the cylinder bore is professionally machined to be very round and without taper. Piston-to-Cylinder Clearance: .002″ Ring End Gap: .007″ – .012″ Once the cylinder is bored to size, installation of this piston kit is identical to OEM installation. Please refer to the Kawasaki shop manual or a qualified mechanic for assistance.The side of the piston marked EX should go toward the exhaust port. Coat both sides of copper gasket with a quality gasket sealer. (Gasgacinch or comparable product) Every effort has been made to insure the quality of this product. Because BBR cannot control the installation or use there is NO warranty or guarantee with this product. Using quality motorcycle oil will help prolong engine life. Be sure to change it often. Recommended main jet: 100 Main (at sea level, 65 degrees) Recommended Fuel: 91-93 octane pump fuel
