OPERATION 1. Remove cap from air suspension air valve and connect pump by threading the air valve adapter (1) on the pump as shown in Figure 1. When adapter is threaded properly, the current air pressure in the system will be indicated on the gauge of the pump. Do not exceed maximum air pressure for rear suspension. Air components fill rapidly. Therefore, use low air line pressure. Failure to do so may result in possible damage to components. (00165a) NOTES See the motorcycle’s Owner’s Manual or, if installed, the air suspension lowering kit’s instruction sheet for the recommended air pressures. Using pressures outside the recommended loading range will result in a reduction of available suspension travel and reduced rider comfort. 2. To increase pressure, operate the air pump handle (4) until the desired pressure is indicated on gauge (2). Use caution when bleeding air from the suspension. Moisture combined with lubricant may leak onto the rear wheel, tire and/or brake components and adversely affect traction, which could result in death or serious injury. (00084a) NOTE The pressure release button is designed to release pressure slowly. If the button is completely or rapidly depressed, no air will be released. For the best results, depress the pressure release button slowly and only partially. 3. To decrease pressure, slowly depress the pressure release button (3) on the pump until desired pressure is indicated on gauge (2)

Depending on the installed detachable, the position of the relief (A) and undercuts (B) will be used as spacers or docking point mounts. Verify that the locking latch is positioned so there is key access for unlocking the latch. NOTES Verify that the locking latch is in the unlocked position before installation. Do not leave the key inserted in the locking latch during assembly. Detachable styles may vary from those shown in the illustra- tions. Outer Right Upright Installation 1. Remove right non-locking latch. 2. See Figure 2. Install stock spring washer (2) on mounting hub. 3. Install flat washer (4) (from kit) on mounting hub. 4. Install latch with relief away from the outer right sideplate. 5. Install stock screw (3) and washer (1). 6. Tighten screw to 30-40 in-lbs (3.4-4.5 Nm)

INSTALLATION NOTE The Detachable Sissy Bar Upright can be installed on either a two-point or four-point Docking Kit. 1. If not already in place, install the Detachable Docking Hardware Kit (either two-point or four-point) to the vehicle per the instructions in that kit. 2. See Figure 2. While standing behind the motorcycle, place the left-side and right-side front upright notches (with bushings in place) onto the docking points (A) inboard of the upper shock absorber mounts. Make sure the notch bushings (9) seat fully into the shock absorber docking points. 3. See Figure 2, arrows (D) and (E), and Figure 1. Position the rotary latches (4) over the rear docking points (3). Check to be sure the upright sides (1) and latches fit into the neck (7) of the rear docking points as shown. This may require some gentle squeezing or spreading of the sissy bar upright sides. NOTE After installing the sissy bar upright, check to be sure the sissy bar is secure. The front and rear docking points must be fully engaged. See Figure 1 for correct engagement. 4. Push the rear of the sissy bar downward and close the latches by pressing the latch lever as far forward as it will go. You will hear a “CLICK” when the latch is in place. If the latch does not easily close, do not force. Check the sissy bar alignment again, as described in steps 2 and 3. 5. To remove the sissy bar upright, press the release button (G) on each side and pull the latch levers back. Carefully lift the rear of the sissy bar up and pull the upright out of the front docking points

installation/Removal 1. While standing behind the motorcycle, place the front rack notches into the front docking points as shown in step 1 of the diagram. (Most of the rack, except a typical sideplate, has been removed for illustration purposes). 1 CAUTION Rear docking points may be damaged if rotary latches and sideplates are not properly aligned. If the latch does not easily close, do not force. Check alignment as described in step 2. 2. Pull the rotary latches back into their rearmost position as shown in step 2 of the diagram. 3. Push downward and close the rotary latches by pressing the latch lever as far forward as it will go as shown in step 3. You will hear a click when the latch is in place. If the latch does not easily close, do not force . Recheck alignment as described in step 2. 4. To remove the rack, press the release button shown in the diagram, and pull the rotary latch lever back. Carefully lift the rear of the rack up and pull the rack out of the front docking points. Position the rear rotary latches over the rear docking points, making certain the latches and sideplates fit into the neck of the rear docking points as shown in the rear view of step 2. DETAILED SET-UP 2. Installing Air Pressure – Remove the air cap from the Schrader valve on the end of the shock body. Attach the pump to the Schrader valve. Some people damage their pumps by screwing them on too far. As soon as the gauge registers pressure, screw 1/2 turn more and pump to the desired level. Use the release button on the pump to reduce air pressure. The hiss you hear when unscrewing the pump is only the air from the pump and not from the shock! Likewise, when you install the pump again, you will also hear a hiss as air from the shock fills the pump and reduces the registered pressure you previously installed. All perfectly normal when pressurizing the shock! After removing the pump, be sure to reinstall the Schrader valve cap. If the shock does not dampen properly after pressurizing, the air pressure may have been lost during pump removal as a result of a worn pump fitting o-ring that needs replacement. Do not ride the bike until the shock is properly pressurized. 3. Main Air Spring Pressure Adjustments – Air Spring adjustments are made by inflating or deflating the main air spring chamber. Since your IFP air pressure adjustment (outlined above) also affects your starting spring force, you should always adjust your IFP pressure before adjusting the main air spring pressure. You can refer to the online Quick Start guide at: www.progressivesuspension.com/literature.html for accurate main air spring pressure and sag settings matched to your bike model and body

Short circuit button (SX) The short circuit button [1] turns off the engine. When pressing this button, the ignition circuit is short-circuited. Filler cap To open it: Press the release button [2] and turn the tank cap in a counterclockwise direction. To close it: Put the tank cap back on and turn in a clockwise direction until the release button snaps into place. Install tank breather hose [3] without kinks. Fuel tap OFF In this position the fuel tap is closed. No fuel can flow to the carburetor. ON During operation the twist grip must be turned to ON. This means that the fuel can flow to the carburetor. Choke knob When pulling the choke knob [4] fully towards the top, a bore is opened in the carburetor. Through this bore the engine can take in additional fuel. This results in a rich fuel-air mixture, that is needed for a cold start. When pressing the choke knob downward in the carburetor, the bore is closed again.
