Vehicle Protection (a) Place driver seat in mid position. (b) Set emergency brake. (c) Remove the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-1) (1) Protect the fender before starting. CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when removing cable. (d) Using protective blankets cover front seats, interior of vehicle and center console and front side of the shift lever. (e) Wait 90 seconds before proceeding to disassemble vehicle. 2. Toyota has restyled its popular RAV4 compact sport utility vehicle for 2009. The new standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is more powerful than the previous 2.4-liter engine and is more fuel efficient. In addition, all RAV4 models feature interior upgrades and a comprehensive new Sport Appearance Package is available for the 4WD V6 model. All RAV4 models receive enhanced safety and security features with standard front seat active headrests and an engine immobilizer. Comfort, convenience and user technology are also significantly enhanced in 2009 RAV4 models. The Limited grade adds a new standard Smart Entry system that allows the driver to open the vehicle by simply carrying the key fob and grasping the door handle. The Sport and Limited grades offer an available new rear backup monitor. Integrated satellite radio is newly available for 2009, and the Sport and Limited grades offer a new low-cost navigation system. All RAV4 models gain new standard seat fabric, and the Sport grade exclusively offers a new, unique Charcoal leather option.

AUDIO CABLE CONNECTION 1. See Figure 3. Obtain the larger clip (4) and the coiled headset audio cable (2) from the kit. Install the 3.5 mm stereo jack end of the cable into the clip. 2. Connect the 3.5 mm stereo jack from the headset audio cable to the audio output socket on the Road Tech riser radio, satellite radio or other audio device. Position the clip in the area indicated in Figure 1, and rotate as needed to allow easy insertion and removal of the cable jack and audio output socket. 2 1 is04347 1. For FLHT models 2. Clean the clip mounting area with a mixture of 50 to 70% isopropyl alcohol and 30 to 50% distilled water. Allow to dry thoroughly. 4. Peel the liner from the adhesive backing of the clip. Carefully position the clip to the mounting surface, and press firmly into place. Hold the clip in position with steady pressure for 30 seconds. Be sure that steering is smooth and free without interference. Interference with steering could result in loss of vehicle control and death or serious injury. Use the small clip (5) from the kit to retain any excess headset cable to the side of the console. Attach per Step 4.
