INSTALLATION Remove Existing Equipment To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove maxi-fuse before proceeding. (00251a) 1. Refer to the Service Manual and follow the instructions given to remove the maxi-fuse. 2. Remove outer fairing and windshield. Refer to OUTER FAIRING/WINDSHIELD REMOVAL in Service Manual. 3 2 1 is 00397 1. Socket head screw (4) 2. Radio support bracket (2) 3. Radio Figure 1. AM/ FM Radio Installation 3. See Figure 1. Using a long shank ball end socket (Snap- on® FABL6E or equivalent), remove the four socket head screws (1) to release the storage box from the left and right radio support brackets (2). Use the oblong holes in the fairing brackets to access the screws. Install Radio 1. Pull the storage box forward to remove the box from the opening in the inner fairing. Discard the storage box. 2. Position the radio (3) between the radio support brackets and push it into the opening in the inner fairing. 3. Align the threaded inserts in the sides of the radio with the oblong holes in the left and right radio support brackets. 4. Starting at the rear, install the four socket head screws previously removed. Alternately tighten the screws to 35- 45 in-lbs (4.0-5.1 Nm). 5. Plug the 23-place radio socket housing [27A] (part of the interconnect harness already installed on the vehicle) into the back of the radio. 6. Remove three T25 TORX® screws that hold the speaker opening cover on one end of the fairing. Discard the cover and screws. Install Speakers 1. See Figure 3. If the speaker (3) and adapter (4) are not assembled, or are assembled incorrectly, orient the speaker on the adapter and grille assembly so the speaker spade contacts are toward the side of the adapter with the widest edge. Snap the speaker into the adapter using finger pressure only.

DRILLING AND TAPPING PROCEDURE Wear safety glasses or goggles while drilling. Flying debris could result in serious eye injury. (00565b) NOTE Perform the following procedure on both the front and rear cylinder heads. Tool Setup NOTE Due to slight manufacturing differences, it may be necessary to tap the fixture into place with a rubber mallet. Do NOT use excessive force. 1. Align the fixture’s locating pins with the 3/8 inch tooling holes in the head and install the fixture on the head. 2. See Figure 1 and Figure 6. Secure the fixture (1) to the head with two 5/16-18 socket head cap screws (2) and washers (9) included in the kit. Install the screws in the holes marked “F” when modifying the front head or in the holes marked “R” when modifying the rear head. Tighten screws to 80 in-lbs (9 Nm) . 3. See Figure 3 and Figure 6. Install the drill bushing (3) in the bore marked “FRONT” when modifying the front head or in the bore marked “REAR” when modifying the rear head. 4. Tighten drill bushing set screw to 50 in-lbs (5.6 Nm) . 5. See Figure 2 and Figure 6. Install collar stop (4) onto the 1/2 inch diameter shank of the step drill bit (5). TRIUMPH ROCKET III HEEL / TOE SHIFTER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Loosen the 10mm nuts at the ends of the shifter linkage rod (notice one end is a left hand thread). Remove the 10mm nut from the shifter arm & disengage the linkage. Remove the shifter pivot bolt using a 8mm hex key wrench. Remove the washer on the threaded side of the shifter pivot bolt. 2. Place one of the wave washers supplied onto the pivot bolt. Place a small amount of grease on the shifter pivot bolt shank and the Heel / Toe shifter pivot hole, insert the pivot bolt into the pivot hole of the toe heel shifter. Use a drop of blue loctite on the shifter pivot bolt threads and install the Heel / Toe shifter, tighten the pivot bolt securely. Check to see that the shifter pivots freely. If the side play is excessive (this is a result of variances in manufacturing tolerances of the stock and supplied components) remove the pivot bolt and install the second wave washer supplied. 3. Unscrew the linkage rod and replace it with the longer rod supplied (NOTE the rod has a left hand thread on one end and right hand threads on the other). Insert the shifter linkage stud into the desired hole in the new shifter being sure the flats on the stud engage the slot on the backside of the bolthole. Install the nut and finger-tighten only at this time. 4. While seated on the motorcycle first find the height setting you prefer for the toe shifter. Using one of the three boltholes for the linkage can set this. You can also gain some adjustment by exposing more or less threads of the new longer shifter linkage rod; however be sue that you have a minimum of 4-5 threads still engaged in the linkage ends. After setting the height, tighten all three 10mm nuts (the two at the ends of the linkage rod and the one which attaches the linkage to the toe/heel shifter) securely. After you have the toe shifter adjusted to your liking you can select the heel shifter height by moving the button head cap screw that secures the toe shifter to the heel shifter (Using a 5/32″ hex key wrench) next to the 10mm linkage nut to any of its three holes
