Remove the seat. Remove both saddlebags by removing the 3 bolts shown below Remove the plastic liner in the bottom of the trunk by gently pushing in on the center of the plastic clips Once the liner is removed remove the trunk rear light assembly by removing the 4 black screws in side the trunk and 4 on the bottom side of the light assembly. Unplug the light assembly and set it aside. Remove the bolts for the trunk Have a friend hold the trunk up and remove the 4 screws (two on each side) for the side trim Put the bolts back inside the trunk and tighten finger tight to make sure it does not fall. Remove the remaining side trim screws, 5 on each side, and remove the side trim and set it aside Remove 2 bolts from the saddle bag supports. Place the side plate mounting bracket behind the saddlebag supports and replace the two bolts you removed in the previous step. (We recommend using a few drops of Loctite). Do this step for both sides of the bike. Place the side plate behind the mounting bracket and attach the side plates to the mounting brackets with the two bolts supplied with the hitch (We recommend using Loctite on this step) Repeat this step for both sides of the bike

INSTALLATION Install Docking Point Kit Install the docking point kit following the instructions in that kit. Passenger Upright Installation 1. See Figure 1. Stand behind the motorcycle, and place (10) the front upright notches (2) into the front docking points (3). 2. See Figure 2. Check for correct notch engagement. NOTE Failure to correctly engage the sideplate notches to the docking points may result in damage to the docking points. 3. See Figure 1. Pull (11) the rotary latches (4) into a rearward position. Align the latches over the rear docking points (7), making sure the latches and rear notches (6) fit into the neck (8) of the rear docking points. NOTE This may require some gentle squeezing or spreading of the upright sideplates. 4. Push downward (12) on the side plates and close the rotary latches by rotating the latch levers as far forward as they will go (13). A click will be heard when the latch is in place. If the latch does not close, do not force it.

The rear docking points in kit part number 90366-03 provide the rear mounting points for the Solo Rack. The rear mounting points from this kit ( 53931-03A ) will need to be installed to provide the clearance for the Solo Rack to be mounted. Table 2. Insert rear stud (1) through fender support and into bracket underneath fender as shown. 6. Install bolt (7) through fender support and into bracket underneath fender as shown. 7. Tighten front and rear studs (1) and bolt (7) to 27 ft-lbs (37 Nm) . 8. Repeat steps 1-7 on the other side of the vehicle.

The 52513-94 Backrest Pad kit is only for models equipped with Badlander seats and one of the following Mini Rail upright, kits: 52738-94A, 52744-94 or 51512-02. The 52568-01 Backrest Pad Kit is designed for installation on 2001 FXDWG2 model motorcycles and should be used with mini rail upright part number 52744-94 as well as the right and left stock FXDWG Sideplates or an appropriate detachable sideplate kit. The 52901-01 Backrest Pad Kit is designed for installation on 2002 FXDWG3 model motorcycles and should be used with mini rail upright part number 51512-02 as well as the right and left stock FXDWG Sideplates or an appropriate detachable sideplate kit. INSTALLATION (2000 THROUGH 2002) Refer to the instructions included with kit 53388-03 for installation on 2000 through 2002 models. INSTALLATION (2003 AND LATER) NOTE To keep the fender aligned, completely install the sideplate on one side of the motorcycle before proceeding to the second side. The sissy bar should be installed last. 1. For models equipped with saddlebags: a. Remove the saddlebag, and retain the mounting hardware for later reinstallation. b. See Figure 1. Remove the bolt (A) and washer (4) that secures the rear fender to the fender brace. Discard the bolt and washer. Remove and retain the two saddlebag mounting studs (C) and nut plate (D) for later use. For models NOT equipped with saddlebags: a. See Figure 1. Remove the two rearmost bolts (A), washers (4) and nut plate that secure the rear fender to the fender brace. Discard the bolts and washers. b. Remove the bolt (B) and washer (4) that secure the fender and brace to the frame. Discard the bolt and washer. 2. See Figure 1. Position the correct sideplate to the outside of the fender brace. 3. With saddlebags: Apply LOCTITE 243 (blue) to the 3/8- 16 threads of the saddlebag mounting studs (C) and reinstall the studs through the sideplate, fender brace, frame and fender, and thread into the stock nut plates (D). Install one chrome 3/8-16 screw (3) and chrome washer (4) from the kit through the rear hole in the sideplate, fender brace and fender, and thread into the stock nut plate (D). Without saddlebags: Install three chrome 3/8-16 screws (3) and chrome washers (4) from the kit through the holes in the side plate, fender brace and fender, and thread into the stock nut plates (D). 4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the opposite side. 5. Install a sissy bar (not included in the kit) into the side- plates. Apply LOCTITE 262 (red) to the threads of the chrome 1/4-20 capscrews (5) and insert them into the sideplate holes. Tighten to 8-10 ft-lbs (11-14 Nm) . 6. Tighten the bolts (3) and/or saddlebag mounting studs to 21-27 ft-lbs (28.5-36.6 Nm) . 7. Reinstall the saddlebags

This kit fits 1991 and later Dyna Glide models except Dyna models equipped with forward controls, 1993 and later FXDWG, 1994 and later FXDS Dyna Convertible models Installation The slider tubes on the front forks of some motorcycles may require adjustment to prevent the front fender from contacting the engine guard at full fork compression. 1. Check that the top of tube cap on each front-fork slider tube is positioned 0.42 – 0.50 in. (10.7 – 12.7 mm) above the top surface of the fork upper backet. Adjust slider tube position if necessary. See the FRONT FORKS section of your service manual. 2. Remove the highway footpegs and side plates. Retain the footpegs and mounting hardware, including footpeg supports. Discard the side plates and plate-mounting hardware. 3. See Figure 1. Position the engine-guard top mounting plate on the engine-side of the frame upper crossmember. Fasten the guard to the frame using the hardware from this kit as shown. Do not tighten at this time. 4. On each side of the engine guard, insert two socket- head tapping screws with lockwashers from this kit through the two lower mounting holes in the engine- guard lower side plates and into the threaded holes in the frame lower-side bracket. 5. Torque the mounting hardware in steps 2 and 3 to 33 ft- lbs (44.7 Nm).

Removal of Bike parts: Remove the following parts following the factory manual: s ide covers, p assenger foot rests, e xhaust covers, seat, t our pack, s addlebags, b attery and b ox, r ear tire, b rake line ( at rubber hose near swing arm pivot ), s hocks ( air compressor line is disconnected at shock, and stays with compressor) , S wingarm and d riveshaft (reverse box may stay connected, just pull out to side ), m ufflers, and h elmet locks. Preparation: Cut-off the saddlebag support tubes where the vertical tube meets the angled tube in the front and back. All you want left is the tour pack support. Loosen tour pack support at bottom bolts, remove top bolts, and then lift up a little. This allows the body to go under the support. If you have the fuel tank: Secure the two black control boxes, facing each other, one on top of the other. Secure to frame using the green ground wire hole at center of frame. Use the 2 ¼” spacer tube and long screw provided to hold them together. If no fuel tank: leave rear half of fender in place Install air-compressor relocation bracket (1 ½” x 4″ w/ 3 holes) and remount compressor. After mounting, secure the compressor to the bracket with a wire tie Install suspension: See brake amendment for master cylinder prep Install machined studs in the swing arm pivot hole with some blue Locktite on them. This provides a 5/8″ stud on the side of the frame for the suspension side plates. Screw in until flush with frame. Remove the 6mm bolts from the exhaust heat shield on the outside of the frame rail. Install the shock replacement bars on the top shock stud and re-install bolts, leave bars hanging loose for now. Put the suspension on a floor jack and roll up to the bike. (note: once forward all the way, jack up to meet the studs.) Spread the chassis plates over the studs and start the nuts. Be careful not to damage the threads on the machined studs. Jack up the rear to align the shock replacement bars, slip in the bolts. Install 8mm x 40mm bolts and ¾” spacers to crash bar tabs on frame with spacer. Tighten the front stud nuts, crash bar tab bolts, and shock replacement bars
