DISCONNECT CONNECTOR Disconnect the connector according to the instructions on BE-2. 2. DISCONNECT TERMINAL FROM CONNECTOR (a) Using the special tool, raise the retainer up to the termporary lock position.
HINT: The needle insertion position varies according to the connector’s shape (number of terminals, etc.), so
check the position before inserting it. (b) Using the special tool, release the locking lug and pull the terminal out from rear. 3. INSTALL TERMINAL TO CONNECTOR (a) Insert the terminal. HINT: 1. Make sure the terminal is positioned correctly. 2. Insert the terminal until the locking lug locks firmly. 3. Insert the terminal with retainer in the termporary lock position

Removal & Installation
1) Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove shift knob from
shift lever. Using screwdriver, pry upper console panel upward for
access to shift lever bolts.
Upper console panel is located on top of console, near shift
2) Remove bolts and shift lever boots. Remove shift lever
bolts. On non-turbo models, remove upper shroud bolts from radiator.
On all models, raise and support vehicle. Drain transmission fluid.
Remove lower engine cover. Remove front exhaust pipe and support

Use a 10mm ratchet attachment to remove the battery from the vehicle. Negative terminal first, then positive. Be careful not to cause an arc between the two terminals as intense pain will result.
Remove the plastic plate that the battery sits in. 2. Using the 10mm attachment again, remove the 6 bolts that hold the passenger side front splash guard from underneath the front bumper
From underneath the vehicle, locate the oil filter. Look above oil filter and you will see the starter. Locate the bottom 14 mm bolt that attaches the lower portion of the starter to the engine. The bolt
drives from left to right. The starter is mounted toward the front of the vehicle and underneath the intake manifold. Still cant find it? Follow the cable that leads from the positive battery terminal. It
ends at the starter. Not sure you have the right bolt? Stick your 14mm attachment on it with your fingers and see if it fits on properly

The 7l/l-GE, 7M-GTE engines are an in-line 6-cylinder engine with the cylinders numbered 1-2-3-4-5-6 from the front. The crankshaft is sup- ported by 7 bearings specified by the inside of the crankcase. These bearings are made of kelmet. The crankshaft is integrated with 12 weights which are cast along with it for balance. Oil holes are built into the crankshaft for supplying oil to the connecting rods, pistons and other components. These engine’s ignition order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. The cylinder head is made of aluminum alloy, with a cross flow type intake and exhaust layout and with pent roof type combustion chambers. The spark plugs are located in the center of the combustion chambers

The white Manual / Auto selector lead may be wired to the #2 in the wiring diagram and use the ECT switch next to the gear shifter for mode selection, or any 12 volt switch and source. The cruise control paddle wire is located under the driver’s side dash. It is the pink / green wire in the wire loom coming from the steering wheel and connecting to the cruise control ECU. It will shift voltages when the paddle is pressed up or down, and be constant 12 volts when the paddle is not touched.3. Initial Tests
