STEP 1 Remove the stock mirrors. LEFT SIDE: STEP 2 Choose the longest Allen bolt from the hardware kit that passes through the hand control, a split lock washer, an internal tooth star washer, the turn signal mount (if applicable), and still provides maximum thread engagement in the mirror stem without bottoming out. Mount the mirror with the hardware listed above. (Place the star washer between the mirror stem and the hand control). RIGHT SIDE: STEP 3 If the turn signals are not mounted under the mirror, proceed in the same manner as the left side. STEP 4 If the turn signal is mounted under the mirror proceed as follows: Apply Red loctite to the short threaded end of the special mounting stud. Screw this end securely into the mirror stem. -cont.- 1432-22HD-0105 TURN SIGNAL MIRRORS WITH CONVEX GLASS 1432 INSTALLATION Illiana CUSTOMER SERVICE 877.370.3604 (toll free) INSTALLATION QUESTIONS techsupport@kuryakyn.com or call 715.247.2983 WARRANTY Küryakyn™warrants that any Küryakyn product sold hereunder, if properly installed, maintained and operated under normal conditions, shall be free from any defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date the Küryakyn products are sold to the customer. STEP 5 Remove the turn signal assembly from the stock mirror. Pay close attention to how the stock turn signal ball joint assembly comes apart as this will aid in re-assembly. STEP 6 Place a star washer over the mounting stud and insert the mirror and stud assembly into the hand control. Re-assemble the turn signal ball joint being sure the turn signal light is aimed to your liking. You may wish to consult your H-D shop manual when re-assembling this ball joint. WIRING: STEP 7 Determine where you wish to splice into the H-D turn signal wiring harness. Cut the harness or strip back an appropriate amount to vinyl wire covering and prepare the wires for splicing. Make the wire connections as follows: Wires from Turn Signal Mirror H-D Turn Signal Wire Colors Black – (Ground) Black (Ground) Red – (Running Light) Blue (Running Light) White (Turn Signal) Violet (Turn Signal) If a more pronounced flash is desired, one may eliminate the running light function and wire as follows: Black Black Red and White together Violet If these turn signal mirrors are to be used in conjunction with stock front turn signals, no load equalizer will be required. If the turn signal mirrors are REPLACING stock front turn signals, in most cases, a load equalizer is required. For easiest access we suggest installing the load equalizer under the seat; tapping into the main wiring harness that leads to the tail lights and rear turn signals.

Unplug and remove the stock taillight. Using a utility knife, trim the taillight mounting tabs flush with the underside of the fender. 5. Taillight Installation: Attach the provided LED taillight to the under side of the rear fender using the provided countersunk mounting hardware as shown in Photo 2. Route the taillight wires forward to the area on top of the airbox along the right side of the fender. Secure the taillight wires to the taillight plastic with zip-ties so the tire cannot make contact. Photo 2 6. Rear Turn Signal Installation: Attach the rear turn signals to the flat portions on the sides of the LED taillight. Position them so they are out of the path of the exhaust. Route the wires forward securing with zip-ties. Route the right turn signal wires and the taillight wires around the front of the muffler mount and between the fender and the black plastic splashguard as shown in Photo 3. Route Right Turn Signal & Taillight wires here Photo 3 Page 3 of 10
7. Brake Light Switch Installation: This step requires bleeding the rear brake. If you do not feel comfortable performing this step please refer it to a qualified mechanic. Installation: Remove the guard that protects the rear master cylinder and reservoir. Temporarily remove the bolt that secures the brake reservoir to the frame. Remove the bolt that holds the banjo fitting to the top of the rear master cylinder. Replace this bolt with the provided hydraulic switch retaining the upper and lower crush washers as shown in Photo 4. Bleeding the Brakes: Do not begin this process without a fresh bottle of brake fluid. Remove the lid from the brake fluid reservoir. Put the box end of 8mm wrench over the brake bleed nipple and install the bleed hose (supplied) tightly over the nipple. Position the loop on the hose above the nipple as shown in Photo 5 with the other end of the hose in a container to catch the fluid. Crack the bleed nipple open about 1/8 to a quarter turn keeping the loop in the hose vertical. Slowly depress the brake pedal to fill the hose with fluid. Pump slowly until you have brake fluid extending up into the loop, then you can pump the pedal fairly aggressively to drive air out of the system – The fluid above the bleed nipple will prevent air from re-entering the system. DO NOT LET THE RESERVOIR GO DRY – ADD FLUID AS NEEDED. Pump the pedal until there are no more bubbles, and then close the nipple with the wrench. Double check that the pedal is firm and the brake works properly.

Disconnect and remove the brake light (with all mounting grommets and washers), license plate and turn signals, key lock (with clip) and move all wiring out of the cutting areas. Remove the two bolts at the rear end of the stock fender (inside glove box) to allow the end to hang down for cutting. 2) Using a “Dremel” tool or cutting disc (this can also be done using a sharp edged knife, but is not recommended), remove the plastic shown in the photos above and below. Be sure to take your time cutting, so that you don’t cut away any more plastic than necessary. 3) Now relocate the rear mounting holes for the glove box 1.25″ lower in the tray to raise it up in the subframe as shown. Rear Turn Signal Installation: Turn signal mounting requires that you drill a 3/8 inch hole in either side of the rear fender near where it meets the side panels. You can achieve a clean, durable installation using this mounting location. Mount the rear turn signals by drilling a 3/8 hole in the rear fender in the location shown in Photo 5 and Photo 6. Use the templates provided at the back of this instruction manual to determine the hole locations. Note that you will also be drilling a 3/16 hole on each side as well. You may find it easier to remove the fender to drill and attach the turn signals rather than performing this modification while the fender is on the bike

INSTALLATION 1. Disconnect turn signal wires at connectors located in directional bar. On 1994 and later models there are two wires for each turn signal lamp. Earlier models have only 1 wire per lamp. 2. Remove existing directional bar from motorcycle. Save all hardware for reattachment. If the turn signal connector is too large to be removed from the directional bar, remove the wires from the connector as follows: Bend back the connector latches on the sides of the connector slightly to free the secondary lock. Rotate the secondary lock outward on hinge to access terminals in chambers of connector housing. With a paper clip sharpened to a chisel point, insert the paper clip into the connector housing cavity until it stops. Pivot the end of the paper clip and gently tug on the wire to pull the terminal from the cavity. Do not tug on the wire until the tang that holds the terminal in the cavity is released. Take your time, a few tries may be required before you develop a feel for releasing the terminal from the connector. 3. Remove screws that mount turn signals lamps to existing directional bar.
