Installation of the Speedway Instruments microTach+TM tachometer requires some basic mechanical skills, including removing decorative covers, cutting protective tubing around wires, and using suitcase splice connectors to splice existing wiring harness. These actions may void your warranty, and if done incorrectly may cause damage to your motorcycle. Only you know your capabilities, if you do not feel capable of making modification please have a qualified motorcycle technician install it. Speedway Instruments, LLC is not responsible for damage to your motorcycle due to improper installation. The microTach+ TM tachometer designed for 1999-2003 TC88 Harley Davidson motorcycles is designed to operate when connected to a dedicated Tachometer signal from the Electronic Ignition Controller. It is not intended to run off signals going to the ignition coil unless utilizing a Speedway Instruments Tach Adapter. WARNING: Damage may occur to the microTach+ TM tachometer or your motorcycle if micro Tach+ TM tachometer is connected directly to coil signals, you must use a Speedway Instruments tach Adapter (sold seperately) ! ! 1. Turn ignition off and disconnect Battery. 2. Determine a mounting position. COMPRESSOR INSTALLATION TOUR MODELS 1992 -2000 On the Dressers and Tour bikes, remove the seat. If the battery is located underneath the seat, then remove the right saddlebag and right hand side cover. Using a zip tie, mount the compressor to the main wiring harness at the front of the covered area with the compressor air outlet facing down. If the battery is not under the seat and is located beside the right saddlebag, the compressor will be mounted underneath the seat, utilizing a bolt to the frame The air hose routes from the air horns, behind the fuel valve, over the rear cylinder and to the right side cover or underneath the seat. Do not cut hose until you connect it to the compressor. TOUR MODELS 2001 & NEWER On the Dressers and Tour bikes, the compressor will mount under the seat, in the square hole in front of the frame, just in front of the battery. The air output will face left toward the air horns. The hose routes thru a hole at the bottom of the square hole, then to the air horns. WIRING Connect both black wires from the relay to the original horn wires. It does not matter which wire you connect. The fuse wire on the relay will connect to the positive terminal on the battery. Observe negative and positive terminals on compressor. Ground the negative terminal to the battery. The positive terminal connects to red wire on relay. Refer to wiring schematic on the next page

Motolight® Caliper mounts are designed to be mounted on the brake caliper mounting boss. Before removing the caliper bolt make certain you have the manufacturer’s recommended torque settings for your make, model and year. 2 . Disconnect your battery. Never work on the electrical system of a motorcycle while the battery is connected. If you’re not sure how, check your owner’s manual, or consider having your dealer install the lights. 3 . Motolights®, like any light, get hot when operating. Do not touch any part of the housing when the Motolights® are in operation and for at least 15 minutes after they have been turned off. 4 . If you are transferring your Motolights® to another bike or have obtained the lights secondhand, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you contact us at 800-567-8346 or 513-474-7530 for new caliper bolts of proper grade and size. The installation of the AFR Tuner should be done by experienced technicians only. Always disconnect the battery from the motorcycle before making any modification to the wiring harness. Remove the negative terminal from the battery before starting the installation work. The quality of the installation work greatly affects the reliability of the AFR Tuner and the motorcycle. Work precisely and very carefully when modifying the wiring harness of the vehicle. Always double check that the wire you are about to cut or tap into is the correct one. The ECM or the AFR Tuner can be destroyed by a faulty installation. 3.2. Installing the AFR Tuner to the wiring harness 3.2.1. Main cable The AFR Tuner connects to the motorcycle through its Main connector . Figure 2 shows the wiring diagram and the necessary modifications, which needs to be made when installing the unit into the fuel injection system of the motorcycle. Information about the ECM terminal numbers and wire colors for some popular motorcycles can be found in Chapter 6 . The best location for installing the AFR Tuner main unit is at the passenger seat area of the motorcycle mounted in the trunk space or on the subframe under the fairing, as this place provides protection from engine heat and the weather. Electrical contact between the metal casing of the AFR Tuner and the rear subframe must be prevented by using insulating material, such as the included self adhesive velcro strips. If necessary use some cable ties to secure the unit in place. The installation of the AFR Tuner into the wiring harness involves tapping into some wires and cutting others while connecting the two ends to the AFR Tuner. The harness modifications are best done near the ECM, since most of the wires can be found there. Part of the wiring modifications are related to connecting the AFR Tuner in-line between the ECM and the fuel injectors. In such cases when the motorcycle is equipped with primary and secondary injectors the AFR Tuner has to be installed on the primary injectors, which operate under all engine conditions. Correct grounding of the AFR Tuner is very important for electrical noise reduction. The above mentioned insulation of the metal case from the motorcycle frame is necessary for the same reason, which is to avoid the forming of a ground loop. An even more important requirement is the correct connection of the three ground wires of the AFR Tuner. As shown on Figure 2 , these three wires must be led out separately to the ECM and connected together at same point where the ECM ground wire is tapped into. This point should be as close to the ECM terminal as possible. For best quality of the electrical contacts all connections should be done by soldering and covering the exposed part of the wire with heat shrink tubing. For reliability reasons do not use clip on type wire taps

STEP #1 – Remove the seat. See the Suzuki service manual. STEP #2 – Stretch out the wiring harness. Run the harness down the LEFT side of the battery cover, between the frame and the plastic water protectors/inner fender. There is a hole through which the harness may pass, visible when looking down to the left side of the battery cover, and toward the rear [B]. Insert a tie wrap, upward, though the black ring behind the silver footpeg bracket [A]. Let the wire hang down by the rearset for now. Next remove the negative battery connection, followed by the positive battery connection. Route the red lead forward toward the battery through the “notch” on the left side of the battery cover. Connect the red & black wire as follows: RED WIRE = BATTERY POSITIVE BLACK WIRE = CHASSIS GROUND Chassis bolt [D]. Tuck the fuse holder into a cavity in front of the plus terminal of the battery [C] under the battery cover. Ty-wrap the fuse-holder to the nearby wiring. STEP #3 – Apply either dielectric grease or Vaseline to the terminals. The center terminal is plus and the outer ring is negative (see dwg below). Install the fuse in the fuse holder. Connect the red wire to the positive terminal & the black wire to the negative terminal. Use a voltmeter to check if the polarity is correc

Make sure the stock battery is oriented in its mounting bracket as shown with the positive terminal on the left side of the bike (as viewed if sitting on the bike). If not, remove and spin it 180 degrees. Photo 3
4. MXC ONLY! (EXC skip this step.) Locate the stock lighting wiring harness zip-tied under the frame back-bone (See Photo 4). Remove the securing zip-ties and route this wiring forward to the area behind the headlight. Route along right side of frame using factory wire- guide clamp. 5. Brake Light Switch Installation: The KTM kit uses a hydraulic brake-switch. This requires replacing the rear master cylinder banjo bolt with a specially made switch. Installing the switch requires bleeding the brake. If you do not feel competent bleeding your rear brake, please refer this job to a qualified mechanic, as failure to do it correctly will make the brake inoperable. Remove the stock banjo bolt and replace with the hydraulic switch as shown. Make sure to install
