1. Remove seat, tank and shrouds. Remove existing hot start lever, cable and valve from the carburetor. 2. Tip: Clean all dirt from hot start bore and mating surfaces on the carburetor body with gas and a q-tip. 3. Tip: Use a small amount of Teflon tape (one wrap) on the threads of the aluminum mounting nut to ensure a water tight seal. 4. Install the Pro EFX hot start valve in the hot start bore (as shown in picture), with return spring, impact washer and delrin plunger in place. • Tip: Installation of the solenoid valve may require temporary rotation of the carburetor away from the top engine mount bracket. • Install with the solenoid valve assembly disconnected from wiring harness. • Screw in by hand and finish tightening with needle nose pliers. Do not over-tighten. Solenoid valve assembly: 5. Mount activation switch on preferred handle bar location. Pictured on clutch side, in place of the stock kill switch.
6. Route wiring harness around steering column and down frame backbone. Insert battery leads through slot in rubber protective boot. (follow existing wiring to battery) 7. Connect positive (red) and negative (black) leads to motorcycle battery. 8. Connect male and female terminals to wiring harness on previously installed solenoid valve assembly. 9. Depress activation button and listen for valve actuation. Plunger should freely “snap” between open and closed position in hot start bore, as activation button is depressed and released. If you don’t hear the valve “snap” open and closed, follow the trouble shooting guidelines or call /email for support. 10. Maintenance: Periodically ensure proper tightness of solenoid valve in carburetor body as part of standard motorcycle maintenance. Keep the battery terminal connections free from corrosion.

Control Switch Installation: Install the high/low/off switch on the left handlebar next to the grip. Do not tighten the screws too tight as the threads in the body of the switch can be stripped out. Zip-tie the switch wiring down along the bottom of the handlebar and over the front of the top triple-clamp. Wiring Harness Installation: Attach the plastic connector from the switch to its corresponding mate from the provided wiring harness. Route the harness back along the left side of the bike following the stock wiring harness to the area on top of the airbox. Make sure the key is in the off position before making these wiring connections. -Run the black wire with the ring terminal and the fused lead with the ring terminal down to the battery.

All connections must be of the highest quality, use crimped or soldered connections; twisted wires will not give a satisfactory operation.
2. Remove the seat and/or petrol tank to gain access to the original spark units (if fitted); these are normally fitted under the seat between the top frame tubing. Each of these units consists of a small alloy metal box with sleeved wires terminated by a small connector (coupler). They also have a mounting tab with a single fixing hole. 3. On four cylinder machines there will be two units, normally mounted back o back; one for cylinders 1&4 and one for cylinders 2&3. 4. For safety, disconnect the battery. 5. Unplug the couplers from each of the units. Undo the fixings and remove the units. 6. Fit the new spark units in the place of the old ones or find a suitable alternative, close to the connectors. Secure the units to the frame or mounting platform using the supplied tie-straps and adhesive mounting base (if required). If required, a thin sheet of rubber or double-sided tape can be used to keep the units in position. Do not completely wrap the units in foam rubber. 7. Push the wiring harness plugs into the new spark unit socket connectors; they will only fit one way. Reconnect the battery. 8. If you are rewiring the machine or do not have the standard wiring harness, the spark unit wire colours & functions are as follows

STEP #1 – Expose the battery by removing the seat & side panels on the rightnside of the bike. See the Honda service manual. If you are not familiar with this procedure, have a trained technician install the kit. STEP #2 – Drill a 18mm hole into the panel shown [A] (11/16” hole saw recommended and is available on our site). This hole must be drilled in
the correct spot on the panel, make sure it is not too far to the left. If the hole is small for the socket open it with emery cloth or file. There is a coil to the left. Do not install the socket yet. There is a raised lip on the back of the panel. Trim this off so the jam nut will contact the back of the panel evenly. STEP #3 – Attach the socket to the panel; use a dab of Silicone on the socket and jam nut. Important: Do NOT use Loctite or over-tighten; the plastic can crack. STEP #4 – Stretch out the wiring harness. Attach the fuse holder to the support bracket located above the battery [E]. Next remove the negative battery connection, followed by the positive battery connection. Slip the red wire under the red battery boot [C]. You may need to trim the red boot to accommodate the added wire. Connect the red wire to the battery posts as follow

Unplug the stock wiring harness from the Throttle Position Sensor (Fig. F).Remove the main seat and the passenger seat. Remove the fuel tank cover. Remove the left hand fairing. Prop the fuel tank up. Lay the PCIII in the tail section temporarily and route the harness underneath the tail sec- tion (Fig. A). Removing the 4 bolts that hold the tail sectionb in place will make this easier Route the harness towards the throttle bodies (Fig. B) Attach the ground wire from the PCIII to the negative side of the battery.
